New thread for you!

e14...does that include food wrapped in red and green?

Now I wish I'd got some fudgey Ben and Jerry's on Sat instead of my virtuous lemon sorbet! Could just do with some B&J right now. Although, if I had got B&J instead of sorbet, there's not a tub-of-ice-cream's chance in hell that there would be any left!

Off to eat fruit salad and sorbet.....

e14mum · 05/11/2007 15:59

yes, of course!

merryberry · 05/11/2007 16:02

hands up to never ending hunger turtle, it's quite depressing to be so food obsessed again, tbh. wish i could get my thoughts out of my stomach, but i can't!

turtle23 · 05/11/2007 16:10

Oh. my. god. Things have just become so much worse. Went to go and put proper clothes on (as DH will be home soon and he doesn't need to know what I look like on my day off!) and have found out what happens to your B cup boobs when they race to an E in 4 months. Firs stretch marks are officially here. I'm devestated but not exactly shocked.

Turtle - I know what you mean about the stretch marks! They are so much easier to see than tummy ones! I keep having to buy new bras - bought some last weekend and now my ribs seem to have got bigger so I have gone from 32B to 36C or D via everything inbetween. When will this stop!?

Very, very hungry I'm thinking buttery muffins and then home-made ginger cake mmm...

Brazilianmum · 05/11/2007 16:44

I'm snacking on some Uncle Benz ready rice, I know weird cravings... and almost choked as I was laughing so hard at all the eating tips above. I think I will eat two boxed of broken red biscuits in a darkened room one for me and one for little Sam.

piggyp · 05/11/2007 16:48

Eat in the open and be proud!! It's the only time we can. I keep having to explain to DH that I am only drinking masses of smoothies for the LO and I don't really like them at all!! I like to think of at as a sacrifice.

HolidaysQueen · 05/11/2007 16:50

turtle - as someone whose boobs fluctuate on an almost daily basis even when not pregnant (any weight I put on or lose hits my boobs first) I can at least offer the consolation that boob stretch marks never seem to be as prominent as hip and thigh ones once they've faded. I rarely notice mine even though they are still there - perhaps only if I lean over with no bra on (which is very rare given my ample bosomage at best of times). I still get away with very low cut tops.

I'm convinced that my boobs can grow no further and that I have reached the maximal theoretical limit of cleavage capacity. I am now in a 32H (bizarrely was 34G before pregnancy so actually gone down a back size) and they have actually stayed that way for about 10 weeks now. Just as well because nowhere seems to do more than a J cup in maternity bras so my boobs don't really have much more room for manoeuvre!

HolidaysQueen · 05/11/2007 16:53

Also on topics of boobs - and this may be very very TMI - has anyone noticed their nipples getting slightly oily??? It's as if acne is about to sprout on my nipples because they're as shiny as a zitty teenage face, and I'm thinking I might have to buy Clearasil...

feedmenow · 05/11/2007 16:53

Oh bugger! Just lost another post! Can't even remember what I was saying 60 seconds ago, so can't have been all that important!
CL, fabby bargain with the natures nest - lucky you! I would be well chuffed with myself if I got a bargain like that!

turtle23 · 05/11/2007 17:14

HQ-yes...that is the job of those lovely montgomery's thingamywhatsits. It's getting them ready for months of being sucked and chewed.
Good news about the stretch marks fading...although if I think about it I have actually gone from a AA to an E in under two years so maybe a couple of stretch marks are deserved.

HolidaysQueen · 05/11/2007 18:03

turtle - you are a genius - i looked it up and that is exactly what I have - little bumps and oily nipples! Yet another thing to add to my list of weird pregnancy symptoms, and yet another thing that somebody on mumsnet has solved for me

For anyone interested in montgomery's thingamywhatsits, look here

fitnforty · 05/11/2007 19:01

CL, you have the perfect excuse to eat ice cream (even more than the rest of us) as obviously it will cool down the burnt bits inside much quicker than just cold water on the outside of the bump
Seriously though, hope it's ok!

Serious ice cream bargain at Asda yesterday, not as nice as when they had B&J for £2 each, but Carte D'or was £2.79 a tub or 2 for £2!

Oh, and Derah, congrats on another girl for the group

merryberry · 05/11/2007 19:06

another girl, good stuff

montgomery was a poetical chap, wasn't he? Calling the tubercles "a constellation of miniature nipples scattered over a milky way"

Off to singing group now, is proving a riotous laugh.

skidoodle · 05/11/2007 19:43

congratulations on your girl derah

speaking of boobs (I love speaking of boobs) mine leaked about a week ago in the night. It was quite alarming, but the midwife said it was nothing to worry about, although it was quite early for such things.

Also, my boobs have gone back down to a DD from an E. They were DD before pg, but then got all sore and big for a bit, but seem to have gone back to normal now. My back has gone up a size though. again. I think.

sending you all graceful dust to try to combat the clumsies and keep us all in one non-burnt, unbruised piece.

monthlymayhem · 05/11/2007 22:55

Congrats Derah on your girl!

Hope everyone is ok after their burns, falls, etc, etc

After having horrible tummy pains at the end of last week, they disappeared completely after a swim on Friday night, and have felt fab ever since My bump has definitely appeared so think it must have been pushing out...

On the calories front, if you eat a tub of ice cream really slowly (i.e. licking spoon in between each mouthful) it is actually calorie free, as the calories used up from the spoon licking/swallowing cancel out the actual ice cream calories Was that convincing?

I've got an interview tomorrow for a promoted position and trying to work out what to wear (or what's left in my wardrobe to wear) has been tricky. So going for black dress with black checked suit jacket (which I can't actually get closed..). Then off to the football tomorrow night

Clapham Lauren - very jealous of your bargain, I'm definitely buying a nature's nest so will need to watch ebay more closely!

imjin100 · 06/11/2007 12:48

hope interview has gone ok monthlymahem...and everyone else doing ok - no more falls or burns or dramas!

All fine here, a full night's sleep does wonders!

happy days to all.

e14mum · 06/11/2007 15:24

Just a quick bit of excitement from this first-timer: we could see the bump moving last night!

HolidaysQueen · 06/11/2007 15:34

Yay e14mum! So exciting!!! I can't wait for that (I think DH in particular will love it as he's a bit jealous that I can feel baby move but he can't yet!)

monthlymayhem - hope you kicked ass at the job interview

MumOfBillyTheKid · 06/11/2007 16:21

Afternoon all - sorry, have been very lax in reading/posting since joining - life seems to be very busy right now! Congrats to everyone on their scans

Got made redundant during a re-structure at work, but luckily got one of the new posts (before telling them I was pregnant!).

Glad to hear everyone else's LO is moving about - mine has been wriggling lots the last few days. Also glad to hear i'm not the only one going through all sizes of bras! Gone from 36b to 38c to 40c at the mo and still growing!

Just had scan (20 weeks today by dates, but they've told me to go by scan date, so - I'm changing due date back to 18 March). Decided to leave finding out if boy or girl.

Little bit worried that the baby's legs are short... I know i'm only 5 ft 2 in, but they called me back in to re-measure (got same measurements) but haven't offered to re-scan or anything.... not seeing midwife again for another month.

Tell me not to be paranoid (that's what DP is saying) but I'd like a bit of reassurance that it's ok... they briefly mentioned that short legs can be a sign of downs (even though i'm 36, the nuchal fold scan gave me risk of 26 year old - 1:972). Do you think midwife will be able to re-assure me if I try and move next appt?

MOBTK

e14mum · 06/11/2007 16:36

Hey mobtk, good news about your job! I don't know anything about measurements and such... maybe someone with more experience can reassure you there, but I can advise you to have a cuppa tea and think about your lovely LO... and that works wonders for me usually!

MumOfBillyTheKid · 06/11/2007 16:56

Thanks e14 - I did just that.... and also had a bar of choccie - that's made me a bit calmer about it all

spugs · 06/11/2007 18:06

hiya, full understand about the ice cream issue! im currently addicted to bailieys hagewn diaz and can eat a whol tub in one sitting then i sit and whinge about how fat i am

MerlinsBeard · 06/11/2007 18:15

risks for ds in 26 yo are 1:972??

I am 26 (well in a few weeks) and was told my "risk" is 1:50,000 guessing that means i am far out of risk. ood blody job, this PG is complicated enough!

Congratulations on your girl Derah

CL- i think you should just stay in bed! What with your cracked pelvis and burnt bump its just too hazordous for you to get up!
