Congrats @CNovittBolden 💙

Roxy8203 · 18/09/2020 22:04

@ShiningStarz no I've not spoken to my midwife but it's just hormones and feeling very lucky to have a considerate hands on partner and such a gorgeous boy. I'm not sad just tired and loved up I think 😂

Lilice · 18/09/2020 23:14

Congrats @CookieBlue and @UrsulaSings @CNovittBolden 💕

Miltonj · 19/09/2020 07:36

Hi everyone,

Finally our little girl was born on the 17th of September 😊😊 only 13 days over due but who is counting??
Been in hospital since Tuesday, didn't end up being induced as started naturally on Monday but had a 3 day labour - not fun! But she's here now and healthy. With any luck we will be home later today 🥰

Miltonj · 19/09/2020 07:38

And congrats to everyone else who's recently had their babies arrive - it really is the best thing 😊

LatteLover12 · 19/09/2020 08:05

Congratulations @CNovittBolden and @Miltonj hope you're both feeling well after the births.

I'm feeling a bit better pain wise but yesterday something suddenly changed with my hearing so I need to speak to someone today.

In other news my milk has come in - woohoo! Baby is feeding like a trooper so I'm pleased about that. I think I managed 2 hours sleep last night so we're making progress!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend x

ShiningStarz · 19/09/2020 08:18

Hehe @Roxy8203 totally normal then'n im exactly the same!!! 💕

Congrats @Miltonj the girls are coming in thick and fast now!!! 💕

I contacted the la leche league re breast feeding. My nipples are so flat so baby finds it near impossible to latch. Hence I'm pumping now as much as I can, also the pumping changes shape of nipple so sometimes after a pump she'll latch, anyone else having this issue?

Also said to the la leche league about having to hold her all night and my DP and I taking turns. She suggested co sleeping so last night DP went to sofa and me and my little girl slept soundly in bed, she was between me and her snuz pod and I just had my hand on her back and she slept soundly!! Woke over 2.5hra for feed and change. Feels like such a positive step for us 😊

MooseWL · 19/09/2020 08:54

Congratulations @miltonJ bet you're glad the wait is over!
@shiningstarz I love that they recommended co sleeping I've been reading a lot about safe co sleeping and how it can really help and be much better than super tired mamas falling asleep accidentally with babies. Glad it worked for you!

@margo34 it is a hard year to be pregnant, however I also think for me it's been a good thing as I've had a focus other than covid and it's given us and the family something exciting to look forward to. It's had a lot of challenges, but I think if I hadn't had the distraction of pregnancy and had just been working with no real prospects of returning to the office/normal life my mental health would have been a lot worse!

Lorna198 · 19/09/2020 08:59

Congratulations to the recent additions! Hope everyone is feeling ok and enjoying lots of cuddles!

I had my first bad day yesterday, lack of sleep and a bit of my old friend anxiety crept in so an emotional wreck. DH finished work at 430. Took him too long to realise that I was sat crying trying to give Rafe his bottle but he took him off me and I woke up 3 hours later feeling an awful lot better 😂
He will be 4 weeks on Monday so holding out for the longer sleeps at night that I’m praying happen in next few weeks! Least it’s weekend so I feel a long afternoon nap coming 😴😁 hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

OrDis · 19/09/2020 09:29

Congratulations @CNovittBolden! Lovely news!

I’m due tomorrow! I agree though @MooseWL I think i’ll be late. If I go for walks n things I get a lot of pressure and BH types pain but it never turns into anything. I’d like to think she’ll come dead on time though because we are punctual people lol but thats probably wishful thinking 🤣

OrDis · 19/09/2020 09:32

Congratulations @Miltonj! Lovely that she’s finally here!

ShiningStarz · 19/09/2020 09:51

Will be thinking of you the next few day's @OrDis lots of luck!!

ShiningStarz · 19/09/2020 09:53

@Lorna198 I hope you are ok.
When we took turns sleeping I actually felt ok but was getting worried about us always holding her so she could sleep. I couldn't believe it last night in bed when she was fine sleeping next to me but on the mattress towards her sleep snuz pod. Hopefully all our babies get into a routine before we go stir crazy !!

Sara7455 · 19/09/2020 10:33

Congrats to all the new mamas! So many gorgeous babies!!

@ShiningStarz - glad co-sleeping worked for you! Sadly we’re not able to try it with Wren being a preemie, luckily he’ll settle in his own bed most of the time now.

Had our best night of sleep so far last night - took him for a baby swim class in the afternoon and he came home starving and then slept for nearly 5 hours and went back off really quickly after his night feeds. Definitely recommend baby swimming, the babies all loved it and there’s meant to be a load of benefits for them.

WillowT · 19/09/2020 10:53

Congratulations everyone! Loving seeing all the babies arrive. Mine is due today but no signs yet 🙄

Hope everyone is doing well 🥰

Roxy8203 · 19/09/2020 10:54

@Sara7455 aw I bet that was lush. None of the pools near me have reopened so not sure when we can go.

I bet co-sleeping is lovely. Alfie didn't like his next to me so we have put his pram bassinet in it and he sleeps in there every night. I think the next to me is just a bit too roomy for such a small baby. He likes to feel a bit more enclosed

Sara7455 · 19/09/2020 10:58

@Roxy8203 it was lovely. That’s a shame the pools near you aren’t open. Our class is an organised one at a local school so lovely heated pool and everything is organised to be covid safe. Not sure we’d be ready for a proper public pool yet. Hopefully you’ll get your chance soon!

ChipsAreLife · 19/09/2020 11:19

Congrats @Lilice @sianyflewog @CookieBlue @UrsulaSings @CNovittBolden @LatteLover12 @emma278 @liquoricecravings @glasha87! I'm Sorry if I missed anyone and for those waiting sending you love.

@ShiningStarz I was going to suggest cosleeping! It's perfectly safe if done properly and you can't carry on taking it in turns holding her as you'll fall asleep eventually and that's dangerous.

Re expressing. I hate to say but to get supply up I had to do it every two hours for a good five days. It's the same as cluster feeding and breastfeeding its supply and demand.I would go a bit longer at night. Drink and eats loads to get it going. I've managed to get a place where I get about 130mls every 3 hours and 170 if I do 4 hourly. Have a look at Kellymom for more information.

There's been a lot of c sections! I hope everyone is ok? Please be kind to yourself mentally and physically.

I ended up back in hospital this week with sepsis. I took a really bad turn weds and got admitted and on an IV drip with antibiotics. Luckily I got better really quickly and came home yesterday evening. I'm ok just very tired.

Just keep an eye out for temperature or any puss or soreness from your incision. And call them if you're worried. X

OrDis · 19/09/2020 11:36

Oh gosh @ChipsAreLife that must have been scary glad you are ok now!

Chanel05 · 19/09/2020 12:08

I'm still in hospital after suffering complications from my emergency section and I'm not too well so if anyone wants to update the roll call, I'll post below as I'm just not able to at the moment.

Congratulations to those of you who've had your babies!

Sara7455 · 19/09/2020 12:08

Sorry to hear you were back in hospital @ChipsAreLife - hope all ok now!

My supply is finally coming back up. Did the same as you plus fenugreek - both capsules and little Nipper teas. I’m not getting as much as you still but HV has said for a former nicu mum I’m doing well to still have any milk. Apparently it’s pretty common for it to drop off for nicu mamas when they bring babies home - hoping to keep that at bay though!

Sara7455 · 19/09/2020 12:09

@Chanel05 you poor thing. Sorry to hear you’re not well - hoping you get better soon!

OrDis · 19/09/2020 14:20

Feel better soon @Chanel05

LatteLover12 · 19/09/2020 18:05

Oh my goodness @ChipsAreLife that must have been very scary, I'm pleased to hear you're on the mend and back home already.

Sending love to you @Chanel05 I hope they're looking after you well and that you're on the mend soon too.

I'm gradually improving. I'm definitely a bit more mobile today and the trapped wind pain has finally subsided. DP did his first blood thinner injection on me & I didn't die so it's been a positive day! Looking forward to getting the staples out now; 5 days to go!

Baby is doing amazingly well, feeding and sleeping like a superstar. You can defo tell he's my third as I'm not too fussy where/how he sleeps etc

Lilice · 19/09/2020 18:05

Congratulations @Miltonj our girls share the same birthday 🥰

Happy due date @WillowT

@ChipsAreLife glad you're OK now, must have been so scary.

@Chanel05 get better soon, hope everything is ok.
