For want of a better title, I'll go with Inzi's

Well then, today has all been a bit of a blur for me so far. Dropped ds off at nursery, then went to see mw at 10.30, she did a sweep (wasn't that uncomfortable by the way) and then pronounced that she thought he might still be breech so sent me off straight to hospital for a scan. Got there at 11.30, had scan.... and he is breech because she did me a sweep they don;t want to leave me over the weekend, so I am going in for a cs tomorrow morning 8am my mind is all a whirl, thought I would let you all know, and then I am going to repack my bags now I know what's happening. Will probably be in hospital till monday/tues if there are no problems. So much to sort out and do this afternoon now, must get on, will catch up with you all later, hopefully you will find this thread ok

Congratulations Apricot, hope you're not feeling too tender and that you heal quickly and manage to catch rest when you can . Well, 3rd day overdue for me, i've told the lo it's time to come out but i don't think he's listening, still too comfy i guess. There's a few of us overdue now... wonder who'll go first? one of us has to pop soon surely! Well hope you've all had a nice day, catch you all later

unicorn · 19/10/2007 22:09

well you still sound cheery Dalyrmps.
I'm not. Am getting very snappy and short tempered, and kids are bearing brunt unfortunately.
Started getting the 'not had it yet?' phone calls arhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Meanwhile am also very very fed up as
this thread explains

Any advice welcome.

Dalrymps · 19/10/2007 22:26

Ha! don't be fooled by my calm exterior, i'm up and down like a yo yo and i'm afraid my dh is bearing the brunt of my hormonal outbursts. I too am recieving the calls/texts etc, how many times do I have to say it - if he'd arrived i'd have let everyone know already, obviously!
Trying to stay positive most of the time but can feel myself getting more and more frustrated as each day passes . I'm sure something will happen for at least one of us soon

WinnieThePooh · 19/10/2007 22:51

Congratulations ESS.

Hello Every1. I am new on here and thank god for this site because it makes being awake at this hour more interesting.

My baby is due today, and for the last few days I too have had stop start contractions.
Pains in my back and period pain symptoms.
I feel really down, and I think its because all week people have been asking have I had her yet, now surely family should realise they would be the 1st to know.
Then I get people telling me what will happen and what my body is doing, I think they forget I have a son already who is nearly 3.

Moan over, good luck to all you other ladies I shall think of you all when I am munching on the pineapple after I have been food shopping today.

unicorn · 20/10/2007 09:00

Welcome stinky! and good luck for today.
Surely someone must be labouring by now.....??!

Well my babe is not showing any interest in the outside world.. obviously better (and warmer!) inside.

Someone suggested it'll have to be smoked out soon.

ho hum

Isn't trickling that smells like semen supposed to be broken waters? Especially if you soak through a pad in a couple of hours. If so keep the pad let the hospital know and they can check ot for you?

kitcoffey · 20/10/2007 13:32

Oh by the way, hello stinkey!

steppemum · 20/10/2007 14:45

Hi everyone, I joined this thread a couple of weeks ago and haven't been back since, something to do with being 38 weeks pregnant with 2 los !!

It is great to hear of all the safe arrivals. I feel enormous and ready to pop, but not due for a week and and half and then I'm usually late. I would love it to be born on Mon 22nd, as 3 members of my family all have a 22nd birth date and it would be cute to add another 22nd to the list, but not very likely. I hate this waiting, because you can't plan to do anything, like visiting friends when you are about to pop!

I'll try and keep watching the thread a bit more closely this time!

Collywobbles · 20/10/2007 15:26

Hi All

Welcome Stinky!

Just got back from a morning in Nottingham - leaving the house free for a cleaner to come and do a blitz of the house ready for when the baby comes. We went to the cinema and then for some lunch, stopping at various jewellers on the way to look out a b'day prezzie for me...the perfect morning!!

It's so nice to come back to such a clean house - it hasn't been this good for AGES as my efforts have been pathetic as I've had so little energy and immediately start to ache as soon as I begin any vaguely strenuous activity!

I did wonder if the venture out would bring on my LO - nothing like your waters breaking in the middle of a busy city centre/cinema/restaurant....but nothing yet!

Hope everyone else has a nice day.

xx

muppetgirl · 20/10/2007 15:50

Hi all!

Had a lovely bouquet of roses/lillies delivered yesterday as mine and dh's 4th wedding anniversay so he scored majorly in the hubbie stakes.

My birthday is also the 22nd!! Seems a very popular day. People keep asking iwhat I'd like and atm just one thing....that they can;t help with!! Dh said ask for vouchers that way I can treat myself once lo is born.

Ollie is off for a week to Grandma/Grandad's which is fab as I can then sleep as if last night is anything to go by, I will spend the week asleep.
He's used to going for a week so he'll be fine, as they live near manchester so we don;t see them that often but he's stays a while when we do.

Still strong braxtons being painful at night but not in the day...
Elephant feet....
Ah, yes to all those with elephant feet -Inzi - my m/w said that if you can still see and ancle then you're okay after I asked her how puffy is too puffy..
speak later

kitcoffey · 20/10/2007 17:33

Inzi, another waters test is supposed to be tighten the pelvic floor and push. If liquid still passes that is not pee. I would check it though as LO head can block exit as it were and cause intermediate trickling as opposed to a gush!

kitcoffey · 20/10/2007 17:39

Cleaner, tried to employ one, was rubbish, too lazy to have another stab now really wish I had! .

I keep meaning to ask, how active is baby during labour. I mean I've seen the demo of twists and turns etc, but do you still feel kicking or wriggles or elbows etc during the process?

I have been really heavy in my back and lower belly this afternoon with braxtons at the bottom of my bump underneath as opposed to all the way through the top. After all this I want baby to ping out on it's bungy cord!

Any movement with anyone?

muppetgirl · 20/10/2007 17:43

Inzi -ahh at puffy ankles...My left side is worse than my right elevating then doesn't work as they're puffy in the mornings after hrs of elevation!! Yours sound much worse than mine though

Re the waters thing I do know that with Ollie there was a massive woosh and they went but they did smell semeny tmi I know but they did! It was very distinctive

Anyone else having problems with their hands/fingers. J20 shared the carpel tunnel thing with me and now it's getting excruciating....

Watching x factor now before the rugby. Dh as gone out for supplies for me as he's got his beer so he's getting me country slices, ginger beer and chocolate

muppetgirl · 20/10/2007 17:45

Kit -Sorry induced with epidural and had no feeling BUT Ollie did not slow down with his movements towards then end and neither has this lo (Henry)so can imagine he still moved during!

MrsFish · 20/10/2007 17:58

I did an hour and a half of labour and strong contractions before they got me in for a c-section and Ben moved throughout

Just watching X-factor and then the rugby with a big salad for tea and fresh fruit pavlova for afters and a bottle of champers [yumyum]

Lets see if the rugby can get those lo's moving for you overdue ladies.

Ben was two weeks old yesterday, I am shocked at how quick the time has flown by, things seem to be settling down here, he is in a 3-4 hour feeding routine and the colief drops seem to be working well. I feel pretty good, thought it would take longer to recover from the section than this. Off shopping tomorrow, a new shopping centre has opened in Derby and the babysitter is having the boys so I get a nice trip out with DH. Need to buy a dress for a black tie do in 2 weeks time and nothing I have at home fits at the moment can't wait till I can start exercising to shift these extra pounds

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, and good luck to the rugby lads tonight

Hello ladies,

Last night fell apart a bit. Adam fed all morning (and I hadn't had a great night's sleep before that) and then all evening and it suddenly all seemed too much. The responsibility of being soley responsible for feeding and therefore pretty much looking after Adam all got on top of me a bit and I got quite upset. Much better today after decent sleep - went to bed at about 9pm and dh gave him a bottle of formula at about 11.30 so I wasn't disturbed till 3am. Then another couple of hours after that and another one in the morning.

I introduced a bottle of formula at night with Sam at about this age and it worked wonders. He didn't feed as well as Adam does but I think to be honest that thats what I'm going to do with Adam too. It means I have the option to offload the responsibility to other people if I need a break apart from anything else. I love breast feeding most of the time, but doing it all yourself is a massive responsibility and to be honest I don't really have the time or inclincation to express regularly with Sam to look after as well.

Anyway I'll stop winging now - I know you are all p*ssed off with waiting and don't need me being negative about what you are waiting for!!! Me too on the x-factor and rugby... Can't get too excited though as I'm sure we're just about to get our butts royally kicked.

Welcome stinky and steppe?? can't remember your whole names sorry!!!

Thinking of you all.... Sending virtual nipple stimulation courtesy of my little boy with the very strong suck! And pineapples if thats too odd...

Has anyone heard from nellie or HMP?

ChocolateHobnob · 20/10/2007 19:38

Hi all,

I've been lucky enough to avoid swelling - sounds horrible. But Inzi it does really sound like stuff is going to kick off soon for you! For the overdue ladies, who have gone quiet this afternoon!, maybe something already has!

Alice, one of my friends did likewise with her son at a similar age to Adam (formula supplement) for exactly the same reasons. She also has a DS1 (who is 2). Sounds like a good plan. Are your parents still there?

Mrs F, enjoy shopping! I was in Next earlier buying new slippers (the excitement of my life!!) and passed through the party clothes and winter coats - amazing to think that even if we're in bigger sizes we will still be able to wear those kinds of clothes soon!

We spent this morning in Borders (I have an obsession....) and then went out for lunch. Came back and I went through all the bank statements and credit card stuff etc, shredded loads, got rid of rubbish, generally sorted. Maybe I am finally nesting! Just watched the X factor and onto the rugby, though I don't understand it and will only be watching cos it's England. Tomorrow we're going to buy a camcorder for lo. Well for us, but to film lo...

Good luck to the overdue people and hello Stinky!

Dalrymps · 20/10/2007 21:59

welcome stinky, hi step, hope everyone is doing ok today. My 4th day overdue, tried just about all methods of natural induction I can think of but nothing apart from occasional stomach ache . Dh drove me all the way to newcastle today cause I fancied a dominos pizza and there's no dominos here, we also practiced the route to the hospital on the way and got a stand for the moses basket whilst there so that took my mind off being overdue a bit, I did knod of hope that sods law would mean i'd go in to labour cause i'd made plans but no such luck!
Hope everyone else is doing ok, not watching the rugby cause I don't understand it anyway but my bro updated me that we're getting our arse kicked!
Well I can't wait to come on here with some news more exciting than the fact i'm still waiting, fingers crossed.

unicorn · 20/10/2007 22:03

tumbleweeed is floating by here...

Am getting worried that if it doesn't happen naturally I will end up with an emergency c section( as I did with dd - horrible birth)
Have consultant appt on Tuesday, so will see what they say.

They can't induce me with drugs etc (previous C increases possibility of uterine rupture) so I guess all they can offer is a sweep... and if babe is still not ready.. well I guess it'll be a C section.

My son's birth was so much more straightforward (despite not making it to hospital!)

Good to hear from you Alice... you must do what you have to do to make life as bearable is my motto. There are no right and wrong ways imho - whatever works for you is the best!

Hope someone is labouring tonight, although will be very

positive vibes xxxx

kitcoffey · 20/10/2007 22:45

Alicet, whatever works, happy Mummy is happy babies x

Collywobbles · 21/10/2007 09:56

Morning All!

Think this is the first time that I've got the first post of the day!

I hope everyone got a good night's sleep. Anyone go into labour in the night I wonder?
Not me! In fact, I don't feel like it's even close - I've had no BH at all so far and only the mildest period pain occasionally in the mornings. Still, I guess everyone's different and it may just happen with no warning signs...

Spending a lazy day today - just bought series 2 of The Sopranos having bought series 1 on a whim and absolutely loving it! DH and I plan to spend a day on the sofa watching it with cups of tea and hobnobs.

Alice - hope you're feeling happier today!

xx

muppetgirl · 21/10/2007 10:18

Morning!

Dh has just pulled off the drive with ds on route to GRandma's for the week...

Thank god for small mercies as I really need a rest now having Ollie's cold/sore throat reduce my patients even further.

It's my birthday tomorrow so I'm going to treat myself to a lie in follwed by a long uninterrupted shower then maybe go and see a girlies friend who is due a week after me but is having a c/section on the 2nd as her lo is breech. (If my cold is a bit better) then come home and sleep the afternoon away....

Only a week of this as Ollie + Il's will be here thur/fri and Henry will stop all attempts at sleep as soon as he arrives!

Mrs Fish -ENJOY your shopping today you deserve a day with hubbie. Make sure you get something spectacular...

Alice - You are doing the right thing with Adam, you have Sam also this time and can't just sleep whenever you need to to catch up. You made the right decision for you and your family and that's the important thing
