I never ever ever catch up on this thread!
Hope you're all well!
This week has been a very dramatic week for me:
On Saturday night I was having horrendous pains in my upper back. I rang up the helpline to see what painkillers I could have, and I was told to go to hospital immediately.
When I arrived there, the nurses rang my midwife. It was 1am: what did they expect my midwife to do about a sore back?!
Anyway, I sat around the emergency department for several hours. Unfortunately by now the pain was murdering me - I was in agony! , and the only painkiller I had been offered was morphine which I refused. It's apparantly safe, but I'm taking no risks!
So the babies decided to make a protest?
About 7am I realized that pains in my lower tummy were actually contractions, irregular, but undeniably tightenings like you get when you're in labor, and very painful.
So I was transferred to the Women's Assessment Unit where a scan revealed the babies were fine, an internal (lucky me!) showed that the contractions weren't causing me to dilate, and a fancy test that I can't remember the name of (blasted pregnancy. Anyone know? It begins with a F I think ) showed that I was 98% likely NOT to go into established labor any time soon.
Even so, the ob wasn?t altogether happy with the pain so I spent a second night in hospital, this time on the maternity ward, being observed. The contractions eventually stopped, and the physio worked miracles on my back, so I came home the next day. With a stern warning to take it easy (haha, that was disregarded quickly, there's no such thing as 'taking it easy' with my trio!)
I hope you're all having a less eventful pregnancy than mine!
I'll try to keep up and post more often....
