I too am a bit apprehensive about BF in public. I'm all for it but can't quite imagine getting boobs out! Worried I might be a bit of a wuss when it comes to this.

i was the same with ds but you soon get use to it and once you get the knack no one can even tell your doing it. Once a colleague from work saw us whilst we were out and was talking to me and asked to look at baby and it took him a good five min to realise i was actually breast feeding!
Strategically placed blankets and big baggy tops help.

I'm working on the theory of very strategic clothing to get me through BF in public... have to admit I hadn't really given it much thought before tho'. Now I'm thinking I should be more worried than I am! (Although, that's not very productive!)

Oh I found you. Ring slings realy help with bf discreetly too especialy in Jan if you wear it under a coat then no one even has to know. I remember feeding ds4 in McDonalds. I was pretty covered up and sat in a corner and some teenager saw me and commented'er thats disgusting'. So how did her Mum feed her then

A friend of mine had an apron type thing that she'd got from the US for BF in public - it was excellent - it had a hooped top so that you could see down, but kept yourself off public display.

I'll try and find out where she got it from..

I was wary about BFing in public, but then I saw my friend do it, and she managed to do it so discreetly I was really impressed.

At the end of the day if you don't flaunt your boobs around, I don't see why anyone should object.

Hope everyone's well, and Awen's and gingeme's dcs are doing better. Still haven't found a winter coat and am FREEZING! Also haven't tackled my MIL about her self-invitation to stay with us for two weeks immediately after the babys born. I think I'll just avoid the whole issue by not getting a bed for our spare room. She can't insist on staying if there's nowhere for her to sleep! That's what I'm hoping anyway

I recently saw an extremely overweight woman sitting in the window seat of a cafe, with her entire t shirt pulled up and i could clearly see her breasts. I caught the eye of her husband/partner opposite and he looked at me with shame. I am not size-ist at all, but this woman had half her body showing, and not only was it large, it was covered in the most vicious scary stretch marks i've ever seen.
I found it offensive and i think it's stuck with me, which has prob led me to think negatively of bf'ing in public.
She did look quite chavvy, but she was the perfect example of why some people object to it in public.
Urgh.

MMmm... I am going to see how i get on, but if the public issue becomes too much for me I will definitely invest in something like that.

Angechica - twice in my previous pregnancy I had sugar or whatever it was in my urine and had to thave the GTT lucozade test. Both times it came back negative, so i would try not to stress too much about it.

I'm new to this site. I'm due to have a boy on 22nd January 2008! I have a very small bump and most people still don't realise I'm pregnant which is frustrating! It does mean I don't have any stretch mark (yet) though.

re: having glucose test, I've got to have one because my Mum is diabetic. I've developed a sweet tooth since becoming pg so a bit worried! Fingers crossed anyway.

I too have been feeling sick again lately but it could be because I have some weird thing going on with my ears, as if being pg wasn't enough!

RE: being sick again - I've been sick all the way through with hyperemesis BUT I've noticed it getting worse recently. I think it's due to other organs being unceremoniously squashed by babs.

Doctor's mantra - small meals, small meals. Oh, and not eating and drinking at the same time helps.
