OP posts:

Wizzka - I'm sure I've mentioned this before but when I went to M&S for nursing bra fitting about a month before I was due to have DD, they said nursing bras should be a size smaller than you are now and a cup size larger to accomodate your breastfeeding breasts. So if you were a 40C at the end of your pregnany your nursing bra should be 38D.

Skid - your DD sounds just like mine! She likes to have a look down my top and then lifts her top up to show me her belly button!

claraq · 10/10/2007 12:49

Hi everyone. I have bra hell and back ache hell and not sure if they are connected or not. Assumed I have back ache hell because I have a huge belly sticking out my front and keep doing things like lugging heavy shopping up stairs and carrying a two-ton toddler downstairs. But maybe it is the bra! However I recall from my last pregnancy that I never really did find a decent bra, either maternity or feeding, so just had to make do until the joyous day I was able to get back into my old, underwired ones.

Loucee - we have the BT digital baby monitor and never had any problem with interference. Have you tried a different frequency? I am not technologically minded so don't understand these things but it might help.

Skidaddle - my dd has this new word "babbies" which she thinks is hilarious and I think, worryingly, what she is actually saying is "boobies". I think they are naturally curious about our boobs because it's something they don't (quite) have. But it is a bit embarrassing when they try to put their hands down your top in public!

I take it no word from MM. Has anyone asked the women on the due Jan board who were meant to be meeting with her as they might have an email address? (btw I am afraid I don't know what CAT is).

Hi loubylou and welcome

claraq and amani - glad it is not just my dd - wonder if boys are the same. Wish I'd taught her the word breasts now as boobs sounds a bit Benny Hill, doesn't it? I take advantage of her recent boob-obsession by telling her about babies needing to spend lots of time drinking milk - hopefully it will all pay off when it comes to it..

claraq - I imagine your bad back is due to your bump at least in part. I have been quite diligent about keeping my back straight and sucking my tummy in this time as I really suffered with backache last time and it has been much better - not much you can do when your dd demands to be carried though

Amani · 10/10/2007 14:15

Claraq - I've asked on the Jan thread about MM and no-one seems to have heard from too. Agree with you about carrying a toddler around, the best method for me is to place her on my hip.

Skid & claraq - do your DDs climb up/down the stairs on thier own? Trying to get DD to gain the confidence to to it by herself without me nearby - just to make life easier after LO arrives. (She can but she wobbles lots when she goes up, which makes me scared that she might fall. On the way down - she wants to walk down like an adult, instead of shuffle down, and I always need to supervise her).

Amani · 10/10/2007 14:17

Welcome Loobyloo - where abouts in the midlands are you?

macdoodle · 10/10/2007 14:29

Oh dear hopefuly MM is on holiday noticed she is due later than me so only 28-29 weeks ??
Is anyone else starving jusy ate 2 cheese and tomato toasties (thats 2...ie 4 slices of toast)...I had 2 slices wholemeal bread and 2 eggs for breakfast ...and a slice of toast and cheese for mid morning snack....am hungry as hell .....too many carbs nut need them to stop feeling sick - gonna have bowl of peaches see if that helps ...gonna be big as a bloody house at this rate

skidaddle · 10/10/2007 14:31

amani - yes my dd does but she has always been fearless and insane brave and daring!!

if she is in a hurry she sort of half crawls up them (ie puts her hands on the steps as well) but always walks down normally except when playing bumps

your dd is 22 months - is that right? Two more months of practice and she may well be happy doing it herself

skidaddle · 10/10/2007 14:33

macdoodle - I wouldn't DREAM of having a two slice sandwich anymore - well alright ever - I think that sounds like quite a healthy diet for the day so-far esp. if you eat the peaches. We are supposed to need at least an extra 200 cals at this stage

SarahPT · 10/10/2007 14:34

Hello Ladies!
Can I join you too ?
Am 32 weeks
Due Dec 2nd with first baby so need all the tips I can get !

skidaddle · 10/10/2007 14:35

Hi Sarah and welcome - do you know what you're having?

SarahPT · 10/10/2007 14:39

Nope

We decided to find out but when we asked at scan he/she decided to wriggle in wrong direction so we're buying lots of white and about to paint the nursery yellow !

macdoodle · 10/10/2007 14:42

ok Just ate the peaches (big bowl of bottle peaches in juice) now I feel kinda full and hungry at the same time ...not really a chocolate eater but do you think it might help

Amani · 10/10/2007 14:55

Yes - DD is 22 mths so am hoping she can mange the stairs confidently by the time no 2 arrives.

McDoodle - if it helps you feel any better - am back onto my Gregg's phase again. I went out for a late lunch and bought a baguette, but the smell of their pasties tasted to good so bought that too - feeling so bloated now.

macdoodle · 10/10/2007 14:59

Hmm could eat a greggs pastie yummmm ...gotta do school run in min but DD going out for tea so could pop into town quickly and get one for my tea

Amani · 10/10/2007 15:01

Mcdoodle - lol - now that sounds like a proper crazy pregnant woman!

Wizzska · 10/10/2007 15:04

SarahPT, you're my due date buddy - I'm 2nd Dec too. Mine's a boy.

Have just been to House of Fraser and had the most helpful woman give me a fitting - muuch better than Bravissimo at Oxford Circus. I think it gets so busy at Bravissimo that the fittings can be a bit haphazard. I came away with 2 new bras and I feel great now.

skidaddle · 10/10/2007 15:23

ONE for your tea macdoodle? think you'll need at least two

SarahPT · 10/10/2007 16:54

Hey Wizzska !
Wow a due date buddy!
How exciting !
Is yours no 1 as well ?

PS all this talk of Greggs pasties is making me SO hungry!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 10/10/2007 16:55

Hey girls

Thought you might like to see the scan I had done the other day at 28+4 I think I was....

scan

Wizzska · 10/10/2007 17:34

Yep, I'm a first timer too SarahPT. Shall we have a race and see who pops first?

SarahPT · 10/10/2007 17:47

Ooh lets!
HOW exciting!

LOOBYLOU2 · 10/10/2007 17:51

Hi again
I'm in Nottingham Amani

Love your scan Pecka
We couldn't tell from the 21 week scan as she appeared to be kneeling on all fours and refused to move ...
but I had a CVS at 11 weeks so they could confirm it was an XX!

suey2 · 10/10/2007 18:24

wizzska and sarahPT- bet I beat you! Ma told me today she was 3 weeks early with her first. That sounds good to me!

claraq · 10/10/2007 20:10

Amani - my dd can go up and down stairs on her own now (she is 2 years nearly one month so a little older). It has taken me a while to trust her, especially on the bottom flight which leads onto a hard tile floor. But she seems so confident now I am not worried about leaving her. I don't think she was doing it at 22 months though. Since then she has also taught herself to climb in and out of her car seat, which is very handy (although takes a vvvvvvery long time).
I usually put her on my hip when I am carrying her down stairs (this is when she decides to be lazy and I can't be bothered to argue) but even just lifting her into the bath etc can cause problems.....

Sarahpt - welcome - my due date is day before yours so another who will join in the race! I am sure I'll be late though so you'll probably beat me.
