Amani - will let you know what my friend (MW says on Friday. It's important we have the most accurate up to date information on this.

OOooooo popped over to a neighbours house to give them a gift to welcome their new daughter - AAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhh she's 1 wk old and I could've eaten her. She was so small and delicate (a good size though - 7lbs 1oz).

insywinsyspider · 10/10/2007 08:34

morning

feeling better this morning - mum came round and I got hour sleep before dh came back and then was back in bed for 8pm, ds didn't wake up as much either, I had to settle him a couple of times but not like the night before when it took me over an hour to get him back to sleep, I'm still full of cold but its getting better

you're right about MM she's usually on here none stop - had a check on other threads, no sign of her... hope she's ok

suey2 · 10/10/2007 08:40

can we CAT her?

Loucee · 10/10/2007 09:02

Morning!

Suey - I don't have the CAT facility but if anyone does yes that's a good idea.

Insy - glad you're feeling a bit better, having a cold during pregnancy is bad enough as you can't take any of the usual remedies but having a child poorly as well must be awful.

Does anyone have the BT digital monitor? We've had it about a month or so and even though it promises no interference I can hear a hissing noise on ours.

Amani · 10/10/2007 09:02

Morning ladies!
Hope you all are well today on another wonderfully grey day.
Good to hear you are feeling beter incy.

Thanks for keeping me informed Loucee.

Checked my calender this morning and noticed I have 2 full months until mat leave

Amani · 10/10/2007 09:07

Loucee - We have the Angelcare monitor which has very little interferene on it and has the heartbeat monitoring on it. Must admit I bought that as we had a cot death in our family and at the time the whole thing really shock me up - so it was a 'piece of mind' purchase.

buzzybee · 10/10/2007 09:35

Have been feeling very strange today. Very heavy like I'm carrying all 25lb in one place, stich in the side, slightly breathless and struggle to stand up fully straight. Am wondering whether LO has moved to lie across me rather than head down as I'm pretty sure she has been the last few weeks. Anyone else recognise these symptoms?

Also had called from hospital to say that won't be able to have my scan at the appointed time next Monday. Hoping I can still have it later that day but the only times they could offer are awkward to fit around other things. The scan is really to look at the kidney again but quite keen to check position too.

10 weeks to go and counting!

Hi Amani, we bought the Tomy Tippee monitor with the sensor mat for DD but as we had a spring mattress for her we had to adjust the sensitivity on the mat which led to it having many false alarms so we did away iwth it in the end. I've heard great things about the Angel care one.

Housemum · 10/10/2007 09:42

I've just sent a CAT to mixedmama to ask if all is OK - will let you know if I get a reply.

Amani · 10/10/2007 10:00

Well done Housemum.

Buzzy - I had the sensation over the weekend where it seemed like the LO was lying across, as sides were achy too, but it seems to be back into it's normal position of being on the right hand side. Very annoying about the cahnges to your hospital appointment.

insywinsyspider · 10/10/2007 10:42

thanks housemum - hope she gets back to you

Loucee - ds is getting over it, he slept a lot yesterday apparently, its just going to take me longer if I can't sleep, will be in bed early again tonight, friend of mine had her baby in Aug, she has a 15mo gap between hers and she said she was in bed 7pm most nights towards the end so I should get into the habit really

buzzy - haven't had what you're describing but hope you can get LO to move into a more comfortable position
I'm 10 weeks and counting too!

skidaddle · 10/10/2007 11:08

well done housemum - hope she's OK, getting a bit worried now

insy - glad you're feeling a bit better, early nights sounds like a great idea (except on Tuesdays of course when you have to watching bringing up baby!)

amani - all prepared for your interview on Friday? It IS this Friday isn;t it

buzzy - don't know, sorry, but I too am getting a bit obsessed with which way my baby is lying - never even crossed my mind last time!

insywinsyspider · 10/10/2007 11:16

skiddale - dh taped it for me last night will be watching it tonight, also half way through the three shoes book - can completely see why you say its quite negative but I'm going to try and get to end and see if I can gleen a few hints and tips (and ignorre the fact she said leave at least 3 yrs between siblings )

Amani · 10/10/2007 11:27

Don't get me started on Brining up Baby that CV makes me so - leaving a poor newborn hungry and tired.

Skid - thanks for remembering - yes it is on Friday? (it is the 12th on Friday isn't it )
Lots of positive thoughts please!!!

Out tomorrow aswell as I have a wonderful course on statistical modelling!! Thank goodness for MN - keeps me sane through the day!

suey2 · 10/10/2007 11:28

me too insy, skidaddle! seemed to be a lot of low kicks for a couple of days but now they are mostly high again.
Must be dreadful dealing with a sick son and being this PG insy. I can barely look after myself!
Hope you get the scan sorted, buzzy- you have enough to worry about.

skidaddle · 10/10/2007 11:29

oh I know that three years between siblings really got my goat - but I think she means if you want an easier life, wait three years for your sake, but less than three years might be great for your dc's - so I'm taking it to mean that I am a great martyr, sacrificing my own happiness for the sake of my dc's - I'm sure that's right, isn't it?

macdoodle · 10/10/2007 11:47

Sorry girls quick hijack if no one minds..
WORKING MUMMY are you about did you get my CAT??? Am probably going to head into town (all the way from Penarth) to Bravissimo to be measured...so let me know if you want to meet up??
On the topic of bras ...am in my second size up this pregnancy ..still underwired but feeling a bit tight...found my old nursing bras from DD ...ad they seem size smaller.....so should I bloody invest in another set of larger underwires for next 10 weeks or so.....when should I go into non underwired or can I go straight into nursing bras...cannot remember from last time...what are you ther big breasted ladies doing...my boobs seem to be growing faster than my bump now up to 38G

Wizzska · 10/10/2007 12:04

MacDoodle - I'm in bra hell at the moment. Went to Bravissimo on Friday and got a nursing bra, 36G but I think the back size is too big, I'm getting back ache. My other bras don't fit any more, the back size too small and chafing around the front under my bust line. The cups feel big too, but the lady said that for nursing bras you need to fit your fist in so you can put a cup inside to catch leaks. I think I want an underwired bra for the next 7 or 8 weeks.

skidaddle · 10/10/2007 12:16

you need to be able to fit you fist in as well as your boob?! What?! But then your bra just won't fit surely? I also feel uncomfortable just under my boobs - does this mean the back size is too big then?

DD has also recently become a bit obsessed with boobs, mine in particular - she grabs them or sticks her hand down my top at any opportunity and says, mummy boobs nice - could it be anticipatory breastfeeding jealousy?!

insywinsyspider · 10/10/2007 12:20

skiddale - I completely agree

macdoodale & wizzka - I thought we weren't supposed to be wearing underwired bras now? admittedly mine have only grown from a 34C to 34DD but when i changed size I just got t-shirt non wired ones - thought it was something to do with looking after breasts for breastfeeding... is that wrong? would love aan underwired bra!

insywinsyspider · 10/10/2007 12:25

xpost - I completely agree with you comment on self sacrific to have lo not about fist in bra or DD obsession with your boobs!

I didn't bother with getting nursing bra with spare room - its because your boobs will increase in size when milk comes in - I just got one that fitted and then got remeasured about a week after ds was born (and tried not to leak milk over new bras whilst trying them on )

Amani · 10/10/2007 12:26

insy - am sure we discussed wired/non-wired previously, but it was mentioned that it was ok to wear wired ones - so long as they were the correct size and didn't dig in under your breast. I've not switched to non-wired yet.

skidaddle · 10/10/2007 12:28

yes that's what i thought too amani

lol insy - glad to hear you don't agree with my DD's obsession with my boobs!!

Wizzska · 10/10/2007 12:32

Insywinsy - the Bravissimo lady said underwires are fine as long as they fit properly and aren't too tight.

Skidaddle - re cup sizes - maybe she's right for when you actually are breast feeding, I don't know, but right now this bra sure doesn't fit me.

I think I'm getting back ache because the back size is too big on my new bra so not giving any support, but my previous 34s were too tight and giving me a sore spot under the bust line as my bump is rising ever higher under my bust. It is a nightmare.

insywinsyspider · 10/10/2007 12:41

I miss so many converstaions if I don't log onto thread regularly wish I'd bought underwired now! although prob not worth it now for 10 weeks! I keep thinking I should know these things being second pg...
