Morning everyone,

Yes another one with exhaustion here. Was so exhausted on Saturday (took DD on the bus/train/bus again to meet a friend for lunch and shopping and back again) that I actually thought someone had slipped some drugs in my drink or something because on Saturday night I was seriously delirious, seeing little Hitlers in the hedge (?!) and telling Dh he wasn't allowed to kiss me but could salute me

I know I sound like a madwoman but come Sunday I was fine again so it must just have been exhaustion. I completely second whoever said that looking after a toddler is more tiring than working. I find DD almost unmanageable atm, especially as she is getting to that dreaded tantrum/whining stage (just in time for baby no.2 )

Loucee - very impressed at success rate of your foot bumps!

amani - hope you feel better soon

dundee and others suffereing from knackeredness - sympathies

I bought this maternity coat from jojmaman... which was only 40quid and it great and wearable post-pg as well I think

Amani · 08/10/2007 10:35

incy - so many colours to pick from!!
which one did u get??

Amani · 08/10/2007 10:48

Skid - know that feeling, cleaned the whole house from top to bottom (including skirting boards). Took me 3 hours and was so exhusted that the rest I felt so achy every time I moved.

Wizzska · 08/10/2007 10:54

Morning everyone.
6 weeks til ml, 8 weeks til d-day. I'm getting impatient.

I've had a relaxing weekend at home for a change and actually managed to have a couple of not great, but better night's sleeps. Have also had a haircut and bought a new bra and I feel like a different person. Feel its a stretchy, growing day today so am sure the good sleeping won't last.

insywinsyspider · 08/10/2007 11:00

black - again dh's choice! although he said red would have been ok because it matched the phil and teds because I got it off ebay I was limited to what was available as well....

skidaddle · 08/10/2007 13:09

nobody around today? Seems very quiet..

suey2 · 08/10/2007 13:10

totally empathising with all of you knackered people. There seems to be an exponential change- both with peanut's rate of growth but also how damned tired I am. However much less I am doing, it still seems too much!
I don't think it helped going to 2 dinner parties at the weekend then having my family round for lunch yesterday. I did suggest to DH it may not be a good idea! Serious brakes on from now.

suey2 · 08/10/2007 13:11

can anyone still get their wedding rings on?

Wizzska · 08/10/2007 13:15

Hi Suey,

Doing simple stuff just gets me knackered too. I cancelled my gym membership yesterday, no point in paying the £60 a month any more, especially with SMP kicks in. Will have to walk and run and do yoga when DS is born.

My wedding ring still fits. It has caused a dent in my finger though but I can still get it on and off.

skidaddle · 08/10/2007 13:22

Yes my wedding ring fits fine still.

I haven't cancelled my gym membership although I only go once or twice a week but intend to start again v. soon after ds arrives so hopefully paying out every month will inspire me to continue post-birth...

My eyes feel like they've got sand in them I'm so tired

Housemum · 08/10/2007 13:35

For anyone into freebies, but there was an advert in Junior for a free rattle from Fisher Price if you subscribe to their e-mail baby club - code for the offer is JPBFisherPrice ? valid until December.

Amani · 08/10/2007 13:38

can still get wedding ring on - thank goodness.
Don't think I'll time/money for gym when LO arrives (plus I'll have DD who will be two by then) - so it will be long walks for me!

it is quiet on here today...

insywinsyspider · 08/10/2007 13:40

hi suey - yes still can get rings on

skiddale - yes v quite on here today, we're obviously all feeling too rubbish to post

I know its been done before but I think I felt quite healthy at the time so didn't pay any attention but any recommendations of what to take for horrible cold - paracetamol and apple tea isn't working and I feel too guilty to leave work early...

suey2 · 08/10/2007 13:46

boiling water honey and lemon. And a wee tot of whisky makes all the difference if you are allowing alcohol!

Housemum · 08/10/2007 13:49

Good but tiring weekend - helped out at the local NCT nearly-new sale on Saturday - was very good and sold more than I spent! Bought a cot mobile - one of the Tiny Love ones that M'care has for £35 - was £8 secondhand (and it works, I've checked) Though afterwards realised that I wasn't intending to actually put the cot up until sprog outgrows basket - oops! (Last time we put cot up straight away, this time as DD2 & new one will be sharing we don't want to take up space until we need to)

Started to mow the lawn on Sunday - so of course DH leapt out to take the mower away from me and do it himself! (Good ploy - if I'd asked him to do it he would have conveniently forgotten or found something else more urgent, by starting it myself I knew he'd take over!!!).

V excited today - went into Woollies and DD's picture is on the back of their new range of own-brand dolls She's on the bath-time Ella doll if anyone is in a Woollies (obviously I had to buy one - at least it was only £7.50 rather than baby-born price!)

Housemum · 08/10/2007 13:50

InsyWinsy - hot Ribena makes me feel a bit better with a cold. Also a warm (OK we can't have it too hot) bath, with a hot flannel over your eyes/face.

Housemum · 08/10/2007 13:51

And leave work early - tell them they don't want your germs!!!

becklespookle · 08/10/2007 13:53

Hi all! Can I join the knackered club? Went out Saturday for a meal and movie with DH as it is our Wedding Anniversary tomorrow so that was a fairly late night. Last night DS2 was roasting hot in the night so had him in my room with a fan on - needless to say not much sleep was had by me but when he was a baby he had a couple of febrile convulsions so I always panic when he is very hot. He was shivering too so I was doubly worried. He has the same thing that DS1 had last weekend and early last week so feel like I have spent the last week or so getting up in the night to administer medicine or check temperatures. Got work tonight too - not sure how I am going to stay awake!
Claraq - I was thinking of becklesparkler for Nov 5th! I like to change my name now and again but still like people to know who I am! I honestly don't know how people manage pregancy with a demanding job and small children - it's hard work! 7 weeks more until ML and counting...
NBG - the MW situation in this country (like most of the NHS) is mad! They are so overstretched it is daft.
Amani - I get most of my kicks and movements in the same areas. These days they are usually low but out to the side, often on the right side. Sometimes get a moving bulge on the left of my belly button, as though baby is lying side-to-side and is turning over - could be a bottom I guess from the size of the lump! I have noticed in the last few days though that movements have been sharper, enough to make me jump at times! Not kicking movements but as though baby is rolling over.
Dundee - Poor you, sounds like you are having a busy and stressed time at the moment, is really good of you to help your SIL out, especially when you are so pg yourself! Ignore the tutting old ladies but don't work yourself too hard hun.
Suey - my wedding ring still fits but I don't usually suffer from water retention except on my thighs. Don't seem to have a lot this time, it is preferring my ankles!
Talking of ankles, these support stockings are marvellous things! I can see my ankle bones! (still can't see if there is a lump one side or the other though ) Slightly annoying the way they keep rolling down but they are staying above the knee and my legs don't hurt all the time anymore - DH says that is no excuse for not putting my feet up though and I should still rest - ha! Too much to do...

Ambi · 08/10/2007 14:04

Hallo tired all, actualy feel a little better today after my first full nights sleep for months. I get kicks in the same places too, mainly in my right rib. Thought I had lots to buy still, but after getting the travel system yesterday, only need moses basket and changing mats. The video monitor we got is fab, the night vision is better than the day. Still wearing my rings, had to take em off a few weeks back but seem ok now. (took me all lunchtime to catch up and now it's over, d'oh) Oh well 4 weeks and counting......

Housemum · 08/10/2007 14:19

think I could do with a video monitor in teenage DD's room to catch her texting her mates or listening to her MP3 player welll past bedtime!!!

Neuro · 08/10/2007 14:20

Hi ladies

I've not been sleeping well, also have hip pain, or referred pain down thighs. So i've given up going to bed early - more tiring tossing and turning for 10 hours. Instead i've been staying up a bit later, having a late bath and gulping down half a cup of hot milk and then bombing to bed and so far it's working. I do feel tired in the mornings but i feel less ratty as i'm having shorter but better sleep periods if that makes sense.
Last week I had a small cup of mulled wine but with lots of oj, fruit and cloves in it. Best sleep i had for ages...and i'd been really craving alcohol which is unusual for me as not really a drinker.

I have somehow suddenly begun to feel quite massive. Bending over at all makes me feel like i'm cutting off vital blood supplies to my tummy/legs, and now having to really push myself up off and out of bed. And i feel really heavy. Now i don't have a bike and am continuing to walk everywhere i think it's putting much more pressure on my hips. At least when i was cycling everyday the bike took most of weight leaving my leggies to do the hard work.

Oh well.

Am totally excited about being only 90 something days away. My family are really excited too. Parents all dying to be grandparents too. This'll be first baby in our family/s for ages so i think it's made everyone feel a bit more rosy about life. Funny how a new baby brings such new hopes and dreams to everyone, not just the people who conceived it.

I have just forced a jacket potato down and am regretting it. I simply don't have the space any more. This is bad news for a greedy pig like me.

skidaddle · 08/10/2007 14:24

LOL housemum - my uncle and aunt-in-law followed their teenage son on his first date so they could check he wasn't getting up to any mischief! Well of course he was getting up to mischief - what else are you supposed to do on a first date?!

glad the stockings are helping beckle

Just been into the secretaries' office and they were all aghast at the size of my bump -You are huge! Look at the size of you. How pg are you? What, two more months to go? Are you SURE you've not got twins in there? etc etc - Yes of course I'm bloody sure grrrr

skidaddle · 08/10/2007 14:26

neuro - swimming is fantastic for taking the pressure off your legs. Went for the first time in ages yesterday and it was heavenly

at your jacket potato - just what i fancy although kow what you mean about not fitting anything in

suey2 · 08/10/2007 14:29

On a fun note, i made an ace cake for my DN's 3rd birthday. My first attempt at a kiddie cake (thought i had better get in some practice!) and i made one from a jane asher book- seriously cool and not too much of a footer.
Fairy princess- basically the skirt is made of sponge and you get this dolly from the cake shop which is just a spike below the waist. Cover the whole lot with icing then decorate. Dead good.
Have decided i have had enough for the day despite having loads of business management stuff to do. off home for a bit of couch and strictly come dancing.
one thing that is hacking me off. People keep saying to me- well if you think you are tired now, wait until the baby comes. [grr] I can't feel worse than this, surely?

skidaddle · 08/10/2007 14:33

suey2 - well you will almost definitely be more tired post-baby but you won't have all the aches and pains of pg - still a bit of an annoying thing to say though!
