Oh feel extra exhausted after 2 crazy draems last night - first one was so filthy it would make a porn star blush, the second one my hubby died after getting blown up in a night club - I woke up in tears and needed a hug from him, getting a bit blubbery now it was so vivid.

Loucee · 04/10/2007 08:50

Morning everyone!

Caz - love Harriett and Verity. You've reminded me of my friend who is called Serena, her sister is verity and the other is a Georgette.

Bouncingturtle, instead of buying more sheets for the moses basket you can just use a normal pillow case, saves spending on more things that will only be used for such a short while.

The inlaws came round last night, just as they were leaving they announced they would like to buy us the pram (again! they bought our Quinny for DD). I am unsure whether to accept as we don't really have the best of relationships. DH thinks it would be rude to turn them down but the buggy I would like is £420 (Insy, apart from an online deal for £390 that's the best I can find too). I've been looking for a 2nd hand one but they are around £300 and are scarse. Hmmm what should I do?

I need some ideas, it's out 7th wedding anniversary this weekend, the inlaws are having DD overnight on Saturday (poor souls are so excited to have her, last time they minded her was in March, poor DD though as well as she wont be in bed til midnight no doubt!). What should I buy for DH or where can I book us into? He likes the theatre, gadgets, meals out etc.

Hope everyone is ok

mixedmama · 04/10/2007 08:50

Dreams are scary arent they... all of mine have been of the nightmare variety. Awful.

DH and I had a row the other night Skiddadle as I puched him cos of his snoring and he got up and threw a massive hissy fit. The funniest thing was that when he got back into bed DS had got up and both of us just pretended to be asleep and bless him he just toddled off back to his bed and went back to sleep so proud of him for not roaming around the house in the middle of the night.

Amani · 04/10/2007 08:53

Morning all
Can I join the 'Lack of Sleep' club? What I would do for a decent 8 hrs kip.

Skid - I would get annoyed with my DH if he was making all that racket at night.

DD fell over outside her nursery yesterday and split her lip. Felt like such an incompetent mother and killed me to see all the tears and blood. Had to sing 'Happy Birthday' to her about 20 times before she calmed down and then she went off acting like nothing happened!

mixedmama · 04/10/2007 08:54

Loucee - I always find it much more productive to book in somewhere nice than buy pressies these days esp for anniversary as it is something for the both of you....is there anywhere you have been meaning to try, DH and i have a list of a few restuarants that we really want to try and there are a few that we have been to that have left a real impression.

Amani · 04/10/2007 08:56

Oh, I had this weird dream last night that I went out shopping and lost DD. Eventually after hours of searching found her in a bank!! .

buzzybee · 04/10/2007 09:01

When does daylight saving finish in the UK? Just realised that will mean I'm 13 hours ahead of you guys so won't even be able to briefly cross posts with early risers in my evening - since I'm usually heading to bed around 9pm and that will only be 8am in the UK .

Oh well, am looking forward to chatting to you all during my night when I'm up at all hours in a few months! Except maybe you won't be on then as you'll be chatting at night your time!!!! Oh, the trials of timezones.

Soooo comforting to hear that you're all feeling mega-uncomfy too. Not that I'd wish it on any of you, you understand! people keep asking me if this PG is like the last but I honestly can't remember - it was 5.5 years ago! I think she's going to have strong legs as she's constantly pushing up under my ribs.

Thelady, have had bad shoulder probs for some months now. In my case gets worse as day goes on, especially when I'm using the computer. Am just hoping that a complete rest from work will do the trick after LO arrives.

Buzzy, I believe it's the last weekend in October.

MM - yes that's a good idea, we were thinking of going to a hotel but along with most of you guys I'm not sleeping very well and think it'd be more a waste of money so would rather get something. His birthday is just round the corner too though so think a nice restaurant is a better bet.

Amani, it's not your fault your DD fell over. It's so heartbreaking seeing blood and them upset though isn't it. Is it her B'day or does that just calm her down? My DD went through a phase where if you said "beautiful princess" she would stop crying instantly no matter what the cause of her tears were!

skidaddle · 04/10/2007 09:10

amani - oh your poor DD - was it her birthday or does she just like the song?!

MM - your ds sounds like a dream - taking himself back to bed!!! My dd would have sung twinkle twinkle ay incrasing volume and bounced on our bed until we paid her some attention!

Loucee - are there any particular concerts/plays etc he would like? I always get dh something HE likes (we often don't overlap!) for special occasions followed by a nice dinner

ambi - you poor thing. I have dreams like that as well - they haunt you all day, don; they?

mixedmama · 04/10/2007 09:27

Have to be honest i was very surprised he went back to bed, normally he comes in and sits by our wardrobe until we take pity on him poor thing.

Loucee - hotels are not for sleeping are they.... or is that not on the cards the way you feel at the moment (sorry am I lowering the tone )

suey2 · 04/10/2007 09:29

loucee how about lunch at a really swanky restaurant? You won't be too tired and you can enjoy just hanging out together. He can get a bit pissed and you can both enjoy a mid afternoon snooze and quality time.

Amani · 04/10/2007 09:43

Loucee/Skid - not her birthday but she loves it when I sing 'Happy Birthday' to all the characters from 'In the Night Garden' in turn then everyone in my family...takes so bloody long and she knows if I'm trying to take a short cut and miss some people out!

mixedmama · 04/10/2007 09:50

Having a rubbish morning.

The one perm full time member of the ream has phoned in sick and we have a temp from a company we have just merged with who is beyond useless. She put a call throught to me the other day where the caller just said " I wanted directory enquiries". Obv I am a temp also, so trying to be patient but driving me round the bend and then got the moany temp who knows what she is doing but moans constantly and has the most annoyingly loud voice on the planet and is incredibly rude on the phone coming in at 10.30 fun and games today.

skidaddle · 04/10/2007 09:54

oh dear MM what a nightmare - when can you leave? Might be one of those days when you just have to countdown till hometime!

amani - your dd sounds so sweet. Is she nearly 2 now? I have noticed such a change in my dd recently - knows what she wants and demands it! Everything has to be a certain way (e.g. woolly hat on in bath) or woe betide us. I'm sure it will get irritating but at the moment I am really enjoying it and am pleased that I have produced a daughter with such spirit!

Wizzska · 04/10/2007 10:03

Morning All!
Can I join the no sleep and weird dreams club. I keep waking up in the night too. Last night I had to sleep in the spare room because DH was snoring and I kept waking up with back ache. Had a really odd dream that tortoises with shells that looked like cabbages were coming to get me and I had to hide in toilet cubicles until I fell in a pit full of old radiators! I think I need help!

mixedmama · 04/10/2007 10:06

Definitely on a count down... I feel a long day stretching out ahead of me.

Wizzka - dreams are rubbish arent they, i cant actually right now this last week get enough sleep to be able to dream.

mixedmama · 04/10/2007 10:07

And she is wearing some god awful perfume that just lingers. Ahhhhhhhhhhh

Amani · 04/10/2007 10:12

MM - lol at the weird temp.

Skid - she's 2 in Dec - she's such a sweetheart and agree with you completley - I love her spirt and funny quirks.

Wizzska · 04/10/2007 10:44

Poor you Mixedmama. At least you can have a rant on Mumsnet to let off steam.

skidaddle · 04/10/2007 11:48

ooh just gave my first lecture to a masters group - very scary. They are too clever and kept asking me difficult questions - have that post-stress adrenaline feeling now - I'm sure it's not good for my little baby!!

Home and nice lunch with dd - that will calm me down

mimicakey · 04/10/2007 11:59

Well done skidaddle! Sounds very exciting!

I am cooking today because for some reason the 1st October seems to be the day for turning on the heating to full pelt in this building. But it's lovely and warm and sunny outside! I'm not blushing but this is what I look like !!!!

skidaddle · 04/10/2007 12:03

LOL mimicakey, yes they do that with the heating here too, 1st oct full blast. Mind you we should be careful about complaining that it's not cold enough (outside)!!

mimicakey · 04/10/2007 12:23

True. But I want it to be cold early on in December because I bought the CUTEST little coat for LO the other day hehe

mixedmama · 04/10/2007 13:08

well done skidaddle that sounds very scary.

claraq · 04/10/2007 13:20

Good afternoon everyone. I have cheered myself up by reading through yesterday and today's messages - I especially like to hear that everyone else's toddlers are as daft as mine!

It is also comforting to hear that my aches and pains are entirely normal. I was in so much pain last night I could not even stay up to watch Heroes (which is my favourite programme at the moment), but don't worry I had Sky +'d it and finished watching it today. Went to bed and moaned and groaned and made DH give me a back massage which was a bit rough but worked! He thought I was going into labour I was feeling so crappy....

Btw there was some talk about breech babies. DD was breech from about 28 weeks onwards and never turned. They tried to do an ECV at 37 weeks but it was SO painful I am not sure I would try it again. Having said that I know other people who said it was only "uncomfortable".
