modsaluk - welcome and congratulations! I'm one of the other ones on this March thread expecting twins - I think that makes 4 of us in total, but I might be wrong... (victoriagirl is the other one, but we haven't heard from her in a while, although she was suffering v badly with MS last time she came on here). I am also having up and down moments cacking myself at the thought of two little uns to look after, but this board cheers me up when I'm feeling a bit scared. And we all just need to bow down our heads in AWE at preggersagain, who is i believe expecting her second set of twins (and she has another LO I think)! We will all be taking advice from her!

Anyway I am falling asleep as I type, so just wanted to say hi to all of you, take care and welcome to all newbies!

Morning! It's Friday! Everyone be happy!

yah friday: dp out tonight, so i can watch some daftie lass flick on tv. preferably with costumes, and without him going "tut/sigh/flounce"

modsaluk · 21/09/2007 09:45

Goo morning all, i was quite sad to be leaving the April thread, but this looks like a very friendly thread, plus i was the only one expecting twins in April up to now, so nice that others are exppecting twins on here too.

I have really bad headache today had it yesterday too, think it is all the worry about having twins, all the phone calls, text messages and people popping round yesterday to pass on their congratulations. Which is very nice but also very tiring.

Going to see GP today, was informed to go after my scan. Other than my scan i have not seen anyone since my GP confirmed i was pregnant about 8 weeks ago.

preggersagain · 21/09/2007 09:57

yardette- you make me sound like supermum !!

Tis true mods, i have twin boys aged 4 and a dd who will be 16months when these arrive- i am MAD!

BUT it does mean that i have been there before and kind of have some tricks up my sleeve!

Brazilianmum · 21/09/2007 10:43

Just found out I have won a prize at work for a project I completed in August, so maybe I will treat myself and bubba to an Xplory complete with all attachments. Will need a full demo at the babyshow preggers.

ClaphamLauren · 21/09/2007 11:07

Just had a look at the Xplory online, it looks awesome! Very good for useless dp (does anyone resent the term darling or dear partner?? Hehe)

I had a quick look at the price though and £770 for the whole package seems ridiculous!

preggersagain · 21/09/2007 12:19

hey its worth every penny! i baulked at £69 for a footmuff but believe me a cheap one just won't work!!

imjin100 · 21/09/2007 13:03

sorry to interupt, but just also looked at the xplory -all singing all dancing. I have a couple of questions - for those in the know - can you use it from birth? then till about what age and secondly can you fit a walk board or whatever they are called for a second little treasure (at what age can children stand on those?) Sorry - just thinking that I don't htink I can justify cost if I can't convince DH that it will do if we have number two in quick succession (obviously dreaming but you know what I mean)
Thanks very much.
hope all having good happy days.
Great idea re the jam, and i have some at home as my father coming to stay tonight and I got some in for him as he is proper diabetic (rather than just being told to give up sugar for a month by a mw!!

imjin100 · 21/09/2007 13:04

my typing is rotten - sorry all! Hope you manage to make sense of what I've written with awful errors and typos all over the place.

preggersagain · 21/09/2007 13:09

i haven't ever found a buggy board to fit on the back of the xplory! sorry, but it is suitable from birth!

merryberry · 21/09/2007 15:22

oo, gap in the market for the enterprising inventor then preggersagains!

claphamlaura, you've got me thinking now, no offence intended to my, of course very dear and darling partner...

dense p
dodgy p
daft p
dim p
dramatic p (man flu!)

...

merryberry · 21/09/2007 15:22

sorry, lauren, not laura.

ClaphamLauren · 21/09/2007 15:39

D**khead Partner would be most appropriate in my case.

Apologies... I'm feeling angry today. I had a big argument on the tube with some woman pushing me this morning and my day has gone downhill ever since!

However, I did enjoy a lovely evening of jazz with said dp last night and suggest you check out Paloma Faith if you have any interest in that genre. She's a mixture of Amy Winehouse, Bjork and PJ Harvey.

e14mum · 21/09/2007 17:17

ClaphamLauren- hope your day gets better! The tube puts me in a foul mood all the time. Yesterday I was on the edge of a packed carriage and a woman was trying to hoist herself on right behind me. Since I already had my face in a sweaty teenagers armpit, I stuck my butt out and took up as much space as I could! (This is a good move for when DH is hogging the bed too)
Enjoy the weekend lovely ladies!
ps. 15+5 and I can see the bump coming out... hooray!

MarchMum · 21/09/2007 19:15

added a message on the other thread about a second date for meet up so we can catch everyone adn provide two options - oct 6 at 2pm
here

frannieinthecity · 21/09/2007 19:16

hi all - wow, what a lot of amazing information. I haven't met with a midwife yet (altho had the nuchal fold scan) so am pretty clueless - this info from your good selves is invaluable!

I would like to know a bit more about the nappy advisors, Derah, was that you mentioning them?

Also, someone said to me that travelsystems were controversial. Something about the baby never being taken out and remaining in the same position. Does anyone know about this? Might be tosh.

Cheers all - glad everyone is past MS and all that x

turtle23 · 21/09/2007 19:18

whispers quietly yes, baby isn't meant to be in a car seat for long. Should be flat... hiding again to avoid arguments

OP posts:
yardette · 21/09/2007 19:22

Hey all - I keep forgetting to check the meet up thread as I'd like to come along too as I'm in london. Will do so.
Have good weekends all of you. Want to hear something scary? There is a due june 2008 thread starting up!!!

PurlyQueen · 21/09/2007 19:29

I know!! I can't believe there's a June 2008 thread already. It seems like only a few days ago that we were posting about early pregnancy symptoms and/or lack of .

If there's one thing that's guaranteed to make me turn green, then it's the Tube. There are too many food/BO/nasty aftershave smells down there for my liking.

MarchMum · 21/09/2007 19:31

purly queen - i hear you! bad breath on tube makes MS come back....

merryberry · 21/09/2007 20:44

mind you, d(elightful) partner of mine has had work on the circle line into the city recently and has been saying how fresh everyone there is. compared to the 29 bus to his other job, from holloway to tottenham court road, which is gag worthier.

its travelling backwards that gets me still - facing the back of bus or tube.

turtle23 · 21/09/2007 20:49

preggersagain...Any idea how to get the swaddlebees new print? They're so lovely I want them just to look at! Suppose I could just get them from the US?

OP posts:
yardette · 21/09/2007 21:33

Can I just say that watching supernanny with nightmare twins who kick and punch their parents is not a good way for a pregnant girl with twins to start her weekend! :-(

turtle23 · 21/09/2007 21:39

yardette...but forewarned is forearmed. Those kids ae not the problem, are they?
