Aww Glammama your DD is gorgeous! I love seeing scan pictures, it's so interesting to compare them and amazing what your imagination conjures up - sure I can see a leg in one of mine, nobody else is convinced!

I'm sure you'll be fine with the doppler, I'm not exactly skinny and I've had no problems. Don't panic if you can't find it though, it can take a while, especially first time and if you're in a public setting I'm sure you're not gonna want to be rummaging around the top of your knickers etc and really squidge around for it!

Maybe if you don't have any joy on Saturday someone could lend you one for a couple of days? I don't know where you are but I'm happy to lend mine as I often leave it in the office overnight anyway (I work just near Regents Park)!

glammama · 03/10/2007 17:24

CL, that is so kind of you. I'm in Whitechapel and very flexible next week as I'll still be off work, so can return to you after a couple of days. I would really appreciate that and so would DP, I'm sure. Thank you ever so much. DP is now out of the doghouse by backtracking and saying that men are irrational too. I replied saying well, if you want to breed confusion and resentment carry on making partial and misleading statements.. All fine now.

ClaphamLauren · 03/10/2007 17:44

Good, glad everything is sorted! Just drop me an email on lauren underscore b25 at hotmail.com and if you want to borrow it you're more than welcome.

I'm off for a yummy dinner at my Nan's tonight, hurrah! I really can think of nothing but food at the minute. Have a lovely evening ladies, personally looking forward to the new series of Ugly Betty - I'm a loser, I know!

glammama · 03/10/2007 17:48

Will do that CL. Thanks.Have a lovely time at your Nan's. I too am looking forward to the new series of Ugly Betty. I jumped off the sofa with excitement when I saw the trailer.

MarchMum · 03/10/2007 18:59

CL - I live in Regent's Park! I am not in need of a doppler but maybe cake sessions as time goes on....

spugs · 03/10/2007 19:59

turtle - i would love to get my boobs done, im a AA and it drives me mad. though theyve gone up to an A and it feels like there huge. i want to get them done after this dc as its my last but its the cash.

hi to everyone else

turtle23 · 03/10/2007 22:11

Spugs...If you do want them done, let me talk to you! And I found a fantastic surgeon who is much less than the norm. Took me 15 years to get up the nerve, make the decision, find a good surgeon and get the money together. Worth every minute and every penny.

OP posts:
HolidaysQueen · 04/10/2007 09:19

turtle - does your surgeon do breast reductions as well? mine are so sore at the moment and i totally need to start wearing a bra at night now as it is just too uncomfortable otherwise. sigh. off to hospital now for my triple test blood test. anyone know how long it takes for the results to come through?

preggersagain · 04/10/2007 09:58

morning girls- how are you all? i'm feeling more postive today after my weekend of hell!! The dealership are returning my car this afternoon, fully serviced, valeted and with a 'gesture' (am hoping its a cheque!) for the inconvenience!!

I'm off at half ten for my 16 week check-up and bloods, have my little bottle of wee in my handbag how attractive pregnancy is..........!

Poor DH is also off up to the hospital at the same time as me- he has a spinal cyst which keeps flaring up and he is in agony this morning so hopefully this time (its happened 4 times in 6 months!) they will admit him and operate to remove the whole bloody lot!

hey ho! all fun and games down here- it never rains but it pours!!

e14mum · 04/10/2007 10:11

Morning!
I think the results take 7-10 days to come back... am supposed to call this afternoon for mine.
London forecast is sunny for the next few days!

glammama · 04/10/2007 11:41

Good luck preggersagain and also to your poor DH. That sounds awful.
My boobs are remarkably average although the extra cup size is appreciated by DP. Stands behind me and says it's like Christmas. Won't feel or look like Christmas after several months of feeding!
ClaphamLauren I tried to send you an email last night and couldn't. Kept saying address error. And no I didn't write underscore but used the symbol...My email is [email protected] Can you see if that works ?
So glad it's going to be sunny although being off work when it's rainy is quite nice and cosy somehow.

derah · 04/10/2007 12:41

Hello ladies

Preggers - your poor DH! Hope they get him sorted out soon.

I'm on day 2 of my course today, and we've just done annual reviews/reports. This is a very sensitive subject for me cos last year I worked my ass off, giving the job 150% and running myself ragged (I was doing 2 people's jobs in a 4-day week) but got lousy reports saying a was crabby (wonder why? stress maybe?) and bad at organising my time! It totally crushed me and now even looking at or talking about reviews upsets me. So being all hormonal and emotional I was trying very hard not to cry in this training course just because we were discussing the review process!!!

preggersagain · 04/10/2007 12:43

i'm back- blood taken without a problem, listened to heartbeat and both were galloping along so no need to go back until my 20 week scan on the 1st Nov.

Poor DH is still in waiting to see the surgeon, but it looks like he is staying in for surgery we both think its best to get it totally taken out so that there are no more flare-ups- logical in the long run but i hate the thought of him going under general anesthetic

MarchMum · 04/10/2007 12:48

HQ - I got my TT results in the mail about a week later (I am at UCH). I didn't expect to hear that way or that quickly - so thankfully it was good news. Here's to all of us having good news!

Not as serious as Pregger's DH of course (hope is OK), but it jogged my memory about something I wanted to ask. Anybody else's DH complaining about 'couvade symptons' - when men's minds play tricks on them and they think they have pg symptoms. Supposed to mean they are psychologically engaged in process, etc. I Try to be understanding and listen but most of the time I just end up laughing.

MarchMum · 04/10/2007 12:49

ps to derah - get in the bathroom for a good cry, don't let 'em see you sweat!

ClaphamLauren · 04/10/2007 13:08

Glad your blood test went well Preggers - hope your DH is ok too. I'm not due to have any sort of check ups between now and my 23 week scan, I had my triple test with my nuchal scan and got the results there and then. Very odd!

Glamma - will email you now, my hotmail is useless! I'll try my gmail.

MarchMum - My DP is eating for two if that counts? He's so gonna end up putting on more weight than me! Regents Park cake sessions sound great though, maybe I can give him a run for his money!

I'm off sick today as I passed out (again!) in the shower this morning and have been nursing a banging headache all morning. Feeling better now so may go for a swim later as feeling a bit wobbly on my bum and thighs

Need to go and buy myself some winter boots too... Manager doesn't need to know about that bit though!

e14mum · 04/10/2007 13:10

Good news here from quad test!

Preggers, let us know how things go with your DH.

Off to lunch. Jacket potato and cottage cheese with chives, of course!

preggersagain · 04/10/2007 13:11

please ladies don't have ANY sympathy for DH! he's enjoying being coo-ed over and waited on hand and foot by the nursing staff atm- and bragging about how he will be having a good nights sleep etc- Sod!!!

HolidaysQueen · 04/10/2007 13:11

MarchMum - my DH keeps telling me he has a sympathy pregnancy - not sleeping, off his breakfast etc. I indulged him for about 2 days but now just roll my eyes and list all my symptoms in a "Ha! Beat that!" tone of voice. He soon shuts up and sometimes even fetches me a cup of tea or something...

HolidaysQueen · 04/10/2007 13:14

Oh and ladies, I'm afraid I won't be able to join you on Saturday for cake as we are meeting some of DH's friends for lunch at the same time as I suspected. We're going to tell them about the baby, so I didn't think I could get out of it - besides I like being the centre of attention I shall definitely make sure I eat cake for dessert so that I am with you in spirit.

e14mum · 04/10/2007 13:16

CL- sorry to hear you aren't well. (Hope you find perfect boots )

Has anyone else been having daily headaches? Almost like when you're desperate for some caffeine, but I haven't had coffee for months and can't stand the sight of it. Suppose it's normal...

turtle23 · 04/10/2007 13:17

Have just had a 68 minute naughty step episode with the toddler who is usually good as gold. Refused to apologise. Am surprised anyone has a third when it's this stressful being pregnant around one toddler. Ho hum, back to the important task of feeding me...I mean baby!
What a beautifully sunny day!

OP posts:
ClaphamLauren · 04/10/2007 13:44

68 minutes??? They have that much determination? Gulp.

Thanks e14 - hoping I can find some that'll fit round my increasingly chubby calves!

preggersagain · 04/10/2007 15:29

oh i forgot to mention in the panic earlier the mw weighed me again today, i have not put on a dot since my booking appointment 4 weeks ago- still 75kg , with a bump the size of a football- so i'm doing something right

i'm quite looking forward to a relaxing evening, plan is:
leave work, sort kids out with tea, bath said kids, put them to bed 6.30 as usual, have a quick coffee and make sure they're asleep, persuade nanny to babysit for overtime rates, zip to hospital for dinner (private hosp- fab food, can't do enough to please!!) take dh's stuff and make sure he's got everything he needs, go back home and veg out in front of telly watching what I want to watch!!!

then a king sized bed all to myself- having said that i can never sleep when he's not there! feel very vulnerable and tend to check the doors and windows are locked about 15 times before finally going to bed.

glammama · 04/10/2007 16:06

Hope your DH has a speedy recovery, preggersgain.
I must have offended my left breast earlier by calling it average as I've been having the most horrific pains in it off and on now for hours. They come in waves and each one last about 3or 4 seconds and they really are breath catching. Haven't even started the feeding yet and I'm already getting grief!
