Wow congratulations @Bumpingalong84 and @MarshmallowsOnToast on your new arrivals and for being super strong women who birthed in lockdown!
Had a ridiculous day here..spent it all at the hospital of what was meant to be a growth scan, turns out that since my 36w scan baby has shot off the scale and is now like the heaviest post term baby still in a belly (you should have seen the doctors and nurses crowding round my notes like a circus) so after being super scared of what was going to be an induction on Friday, that has now turned into a planned C Section on Friday which I have just not planned for at all!
Anyone that's been through C Section or advice on that would be appreciated, I've been in bits all afternoon but finally come round to the idea it's best for baby and me too.

It's due date day for me today! Can't believe this day has arrived! Now come on little baby 😍 still no signs though 😀

CharlieB93 · 21/05/2020 12:24

Well my little girl was born at 5am this morning! I ended up going in because I couldn’t take anymore (lied about frequency of contractions) was already 5cm then went from 5 to ten in the space of a hour so a good job I went when I did!
I’ve ended up with a nasty 3rd degree tear that I’m really gutted about but I’m just so happy she’s here I don’t care!
Good luck to all ladies still waiting 💕💕💕

Lu1u · 21/05/2020 12:34

@CharlieB93 congratulations!! So pleased your baby has finally arrived, you did so well to get though such a long first stage at home. Enjoy the snuggles and hope you can get some rest now x

AlmostAlwyn · 21/05/2020 14:15

Congratulations @CharlieB93! What a hero! Enjoy your little girl! Wishing you a speedy recovery Flowers

Naughtysausage · 21/05/2020 14:28

Congratulations @CharlieB93 !!!
Wonderful news, don't worry about the tear - just be kind to yourself and let everyone fetch everything for you whilst you heal. And if you haven't already - look at padsicles when you have a chance.

And happy due date @woollycat me too. I'm treating today as his due from date. But I'm going to try and pry DH from his conference calls later and get a nice photo!

woollycat · 21/05/2020 14:59

@CharlieB93 congratulations! So glad you listened to your instinct and went in! Enjoy this time 😍

@Naughtysausage happy due date! I went for my 40w appointment, no interesting news. Next appointment is now 40+6 where they will do an internal examination and offer a sweep is cervix is favourable. Here's to hoping she will make an appearance before then!

november90 · 21/05/2020 15:13

@CharlieB93 congratulations lovely!!! How're you feeling? I bet you're so happy to have your little one finally here ❤️

My little boy is one week old today. Breast feeding is going ok and slowly getting less painful. Nighttime sleeping is a disaster, but I l know it won't last forever so trying to remain positive :)

Clairesoph · 21/05/2020 16:00

I did it! Planned c section for my breech - 8lb 4oz, I was so shocked 🤣 he's a heffa compared to my first!

Congratulations @Clairesoph and @CharlieB93 enjoy this time and hope you both recover quickly x

Clairesoph · 21/05/2020 17:02

Thank you ladies, surprisingly feeling okay! It's a very different experience to my first natural birth and I've been a lot more with it this time. Pain not kicked in as yet but I'm sure it's coming! I'm just completely in love with the little one and trying to enjoy all the 1:1 time before we go home to the mad house 🤣

Moongirl10 · 21/05/2020 17:18

Congrats @Clairesoph! May I ask how long he was breech for?

I just had my 39 week appointment with my midwife and she’s really sure that he’s flipped around and is now breech. They have booked me in for an ultrasound for tomorrow to confirm if he’s breech and told me to bring all my bags just in case they want to do a c section tomorrow. I really didn’t expect him to flip! I’m happy with a c section option though.

Clairesoph · 21/05/2020 17:22

@Moongirl10 they spotted it when I was 36+3 although I personally think he was breech all along and it wasn't spotted. They tried to budge him a week later with no success and I am or was 39+5 today. It was scary at first, I think it's the unknown and it was a bit over whelming but the actual procedure was incredible. Quick and seamless and no feeling what so ever, it was just unreal really! And it's been so nice to be alert and with it for recovery, my first I had pethidine and I was off my rocker for aaaagessss- hardly remember a thing sadly!

Lady7978 · 21/05/2020 17:46

Congrats @CharlieB93 and @Clairesoph.Flowers

I hope things get moving for you @woollycat

@november90 Time flies so quickly, doesn't it? 1 week already!

@Moongirl10 oooh, good luck for tomorrow. Let us know how you get on. Have you had any labour symptoms yet?

Moongirl10 · 21/05/2020 18:06

Thank you @Clairesoph!

Nope no labour symptoms yet @Lady7978 I’ll let you know how it goes! I did think it was strange I was feeling his hiccups yesterday much higher up than normal, and my midwife said my measurements have completely changed from last week.

Raindancer411 · 21/05/2020 22:24

Congrats both on the babies!!!

What a day I have had lol Hardly had any movements so tried to call the call the midwife number we have at our hospital, but had such a time getting through. It either run out or was engaged. Total of 70 odd times I tried and didn’t have any luck so at 6pm I called the main switchboard and they got me through to triage. They said to go up to MCU for monitoring which I did. As any time I go up, the machine was showing contractions up to 140!! The midwife come and poked her head around and asked if I was feeling them, so I said it’s the same as what has happened the last two times before and it was just a tightening lol I said I know I am weird!! Anyway, she said the babies trace was lovely but as it was my second time for reduced movement after 39 weeks, they are looking at inducing me... yuck!!! Not exactly what I want but the midwife said she is fully cooked so fingers crossed may come before they book me in xxx

facevalue · 22/05/2020 03:31

@Clairesoph awww congratulations baby tommy born At tommy's xxx beautiful

facevalue · 22/05/2020 03:33

@CharlieB93 congratulations xxx i'm so sorry about the tear- i hope it heals without long lasting effect x enjoy your baby

facevalue · 22/05/2020 03:39

@Kgreen87 planned C section is good. so you need big grandma type of briefs underwear- buy from asda george ( 10 pairs) to wear over the scar which will take months. the procedure is really straight forward. the most important thing to tell you is get those bowels moving - take lots of prunes, fruit, and take lactulose and senna if by day 3 u havnt opened then get movicol or a pessary that's the only part that was bad. u will not be able to do much lifting for 2weeks. get help if u can - your mum or sister etc. i found it tough because of lockdown and the no visitors rule .. i was lonely x ask for help

woollycat · 22/05/2020 10:26

@Moongirl10 good luck today, regardless of the scan outcome. Let us know how you get on!

@Raindancer411 when will they let you know about the induction?

Raindancer411 · 22/05/2020 11:10

@woollycat They thinking it could be Sunday!!! Am a little scared to say the least
