@Woollycat I am taking in 0-1 month clothes from Sainsbury's. I have got some first size up to 9lb but after being told yesterday she could possibly already be 8lb 2oz, I am worried she won't fit them if she is bigger than they estimate lol

I am still hanging in too... 39+2. Husband said about sex last night but I was already out for the count by the time he came to bed 😂

MarshmallowsOnToast · 14/05/2020 11:56

Yep I'm still waiting for baby to come too!

I'm 40 +2 today & having my very first sweep today. Bricking it, haha!

I have packed one sleepsuit in 0-3 but I'm expecting a big baby & want to be prepared. Won't be surprised if baby is 10lb + with my growth charts. 🙈

Raindancer411 · 14/05/2020 11:59

@MarshmallowsOnToast Apparently the sonographer said the scan estimates can be 15% either way on the estimate.

Clairesoph · 14/05/2020 12:24

Congratulations on your new arrivals ladies! Sending lots of love and healing thoughts your way!

@woollycat I'm still here too! I'll be 39 weeks on Saturday but section booked for 39+5 a week today eeeek!!!

Also, I would take mostly newborn and an up to 1 month if worried, 0-3 is really big! Unless you absolutely know you're due a whopper but my first was 7lb11 and newborn still swamped him xxx

Bumpingalong84 · 14/05/2020 13:28

Ahh ladies huge congratulations on new babies it’s all so exciting 😊

I’m still in the race for last baby 😂 I’m also 39+1 and booked to have a sweep at 40+1! No signs at all! It seems like the longest wait after having my one at 36+3.

@facevalue hope they are being more helpful. That’s so rubbish.

How you getting on @november90

AlmostAlwyn · 14/05/2020 13:54

Congratulations to all the new arrivals! Flowers

Good luck today @november90!

woollycat · 14/05/2020 14:05

At which point are these sweeps recommended to you? I had my 38w appointmentast week, and next appointment is at 40w - so far no mention of a sweep. Although I am not even sure if I want one or not.

Raindancer411 · 14/05/2020 14:14

@woollycat I am the same as you. Next appointment at 40 weeks but she didn't mention a sweep either

MarshmallowsOnToast · 14/05/2020 14:15

@woolycat

At my 38wk midwife appointment when booking me in again for 40wk appt.

She just casually said, I've got the perfect appointment time because it gives me time to do a sweep if you've not already gone into labour.

sao81 · 14/05/2020 14:39

Thank you everyone, and congratulations on the other arrivals too! 💕

@Babymamma192 they've been amazing! They done a covid swab when I first came to induction. My partner was allowed to come in as soon as they moved me to delivery, and he didn't have to leave until they moved me to mat base so he got 3 hours with us after the birth. They have been bringing everyone snacks, cups of tea, helping feed baby etc, it just seems really calm! We are staying in tonight as Lucas needed to be in an incubator for a few hours so he needs a little more monitoring, but been told i can have more stuff dropped at reception for us and brought up. All being well we will be discharged tomorrow morning 🤞

@woollycat I’m still left too! I’m 38 weeks today. Felt some period types pains in the middle of the night but nothing this morning.

Congrats to all the ladies who just had their baby! So many adorable pics on here! Can’t wait till it’s my turn 😀

helpasisterout · 14/05/2020 15:40

@woollycat my midwife just said I can offer you a sweep at next appointment if nothing has happened before then and that it's a good time at 40+2 for FTM because it's more likely to work than doing it any earlier but unsure how substantial that is!

CharlieB93 · 14/05/2020 16:05

@woollycat I’m still left too! 39+3 and zero signs of anything happening! Ahhhhh

Clairesoph · 14/05/2020 16:07

@november90 I am waiting on the edge of my seat for news from you girl!!!! I hope things are going okay 💕

woollycat · 14/05/2020 16:21

Ok, quite a few of us still waiting then! 😀 The good news is these babies WILL come eventually, and when they are ready too, so just gotta wait patiently 😊

Babymamma192 · 14/05/2020 16:57

@sao81 Oh that's great to hear so glad your partner got to stay with you for a while! And that you and lucas are being looked after well!

I presume they will be swabbing all the women then...have you had the results? Just wondering how quickly they can know who's got it etc.
Will feel more comfortable if I have to stay in and they know if anyone has got the virus!
Hope you have a good night and are able to go home in the morning Smile

123Pandy · 14/05/2020 16:57

Congrats to everyone who's had their babies!! 🥰

We had out little bundle of joy arrive before the planned c section date! Went into labour and called the maternity unit but was sent to another hospital as no beds available 😒 early labour for 8 hours alone and csection thereafter (with partner) for my upside down baby 😊
It's been quite a challenge to be honest but I'm glad to go home soon!
Good luck to the rest of you..it feels like pure magic once they are here 🥰

Saoirse7 · 14/05/2020 16:59

@MarshmallowsOnToast

What have your growth charts been like to suggest that? Do you mean you bump measurements? I haven't had any scans since 20 weeks and bump measures always on 50th percentile so hoping for a 7-8lber! I have no idea how accurate that is though!

Schlobbob · 14/05/2020 17:17

Congratulations to all the new mamas, loving seeing the baby photos and reading birth stories!

I'm still hanging on, 39+2 and just waiting for a sign! Strong braxton hicks most days which feels like a tease and I've been a grumpy moo for the last couple of days! Baby is so low down its straining what is left of my stomach muscles and bouncing on my cervix the rest of the time!

The hospital I'm booked into has relaxed visiting restrictions (in Germany!) and means DH can come and visit when I'm in the postnatal ward - 3 day stay post birth is normal here. So that made me feel better :-)

woollycat · 14/05/2020 17:43

@123Pandy big congratulations!!! May I ask which hospital they sent you to? A bit worried as I am at the same hospital as you 😬 was it the maternity ward then that didn't have beds available (rather than the birth centre)?

MarshmallowsOnToast · 14/05/2020 18:16

@Saoirse7

My fundal height (where they measure bump) was measuring weeks ahead each time & always above the 95th line so I was sent for a growth scan at 32w. At the scan the baby's abdomen was measuring 4/5 weeks ahead of his actual gestation.

Also at 38 weeks I was scanned again to check fluid levels as it was picked up on the 32w growth scan I had excess fluid (Polyhydramnios) and he measured off the chart again for both big belly & long legs. There was an estimate at the bottom saying baby was 9lb 3oz and that was 2 weeks ago.

Had a midwife appointment today and bump measuring 40 weeks so spot on so hopefully not going to be 14lb baby 🙈 lol

Also had a sweep which I'm not going to lie was pretty sore! My cervix has gone really short though & i'm 1.5cm dilated. Midwife thought she'd broken my waters as there was a puddle of liquid left on the bed so just need to see if any more comes out & I'll need to phone the labour suite. But that was a few hours ago and no more fluid yet.

If it doesn't happen naturally then I'm booked in for induction on Tuesday 19th May.

november90 · 14/05/2020 22:32

My little boy is here! OH MY GOD, what an experience!
I had to stay in last night due to my waters breaking, and I was induced this morning but have had contractions since 5am! My mum came up and sat with me all day, and thank god because I just couldn't have done it without her!
I came into labour ward at 3 and it turns out not all of my waters had gone so they broke them and then dear god, the contractions really started to kick off! It felt like an absolute lifetime but I went from 3cm to fully dilated in an hour and then he was born, with the rest of my waters and oh my goodness it was like a waterfall 🙈
Because of my step b and the fact that my waters broke nearly 48 hours ago he's currently on the special baby unit and we have to stay for 48 hours at least as he's having antibiotics.
I'll save the best bit until last..... he was 9lbs13oz 😂 bless him! He's just absolutely wonderful and I can't wait to have some real cuddles with him when he's back with me. I am so overwhelmed by that birthing experience! I was so different to my first baby. The only pain relief I had was gas and air but I didn't really take it as it made me feel sick! I was shouting for an epidural towards the end, haha! I'd love to have baby number 3 one day, but I will be asking for an epidural on arrival 😂
I'll post a photo with his name tomorrow when he's back with me. Thank you so much everyone for thinking of us. It's just been so lovely to have this chat and you all to talk to :)

Bumpingalong84 · 14/05/2020 23:30

Ahhhh @november90 huge huge congratulations!! Wahhh 9lb13 and gas and air you absolute legend!! How the heck did you cope 🙈 So so pleased he’s here now and hopefully you will be home in the next few days to start your new chapter.

@123Pandy huge congratulation to you too.
So exciting all these new babies, I wanna meet my little lady now 🥰

november90 · 14/05/2020 23:42

So the doctors have just come back to me and said he has to stay on the baby unit for at least 24 hours so he won't be sleeping with me tonight. He needed oxygen and they started asking me questions about coronavirus etc. I'm just so shocked, I don't know what to think or do. I'm scared the will send me home. I scared I won't be able to breast feed him, I'm scared there's something wrong 😩😩😩
Not how o thought our first night would be :( any mummy's in here with baby's who went straight to special baby ward?

Lady7978 · 14/05/2020 23:51

@november90 HUGE congratulations! I'm so pleased for you that baby is here now.Flowers

Sorry, I don't have much experience, but please ask lots of questions and ask to be kept in the know of what is going on. Do not let anyone fob you off. It's important you're aware of what's going on for your peace of mind (as much as you're able to get at this point in time) massive hugs I'll keep you and baby in my prayers and thoughts xx
