@helpasisterout we are due date buddies I am also 39wks today and fed up.

@GinUnicorn huge congratulations, what a surprise that must have been 🙈🙈 how do you feel. You don’t hear those stories often these days.

november90 · 13/05/2020 20:49

@GinUnicorn oh my goodness I bet you couldn't believe it!! What a surprise! How are you feeling? Congratulations on your lovely son 😍

@Donnacha11 what a lovely photo of your little boy, congratulations to you and your family!

@Sunshine8888 thank you for the update. Carolie just looks so sweet! Are you still managing to breast feed?

So I'm currently sat on delivery suit on my own! I've had another little bleed this evening without any discharge so they asked me to come here as DAU is closed. I'm fully expecting to go home but it just feels really sad sitting here by myself :(

Bumpingalong84 · 13/05/2020 21:34

Ohh @november90 I’m so sorry you are on your own. That’s rubbish. Hope you are feeling ok tho.

Let us know how you get on. Do you think they may induce you? You are over now right??

november90 · 13/05/2020 21:39

@Bumpingalong84 aww thank you! Yes I'm 40+2 now and ever since my bleed I'm starting to get period cramps and tightenings are showing up on the monitor so hopefully this might be the start!

It's a bit embarrassing but I really want to go home as I need the toilet 🤦🏼‍♀️ when I had my first I had baby an accident whilst giving birth and I've never lived the embarrassment down. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm so embaressed!!!

Bumpingalong84 · 13/05/2020 22:21

Ohh fingers crossed @november90 that bubbs is on the way 🤞🏻

I never did with my first, I made my husband swear that I didn’t as I would have been mortified. But my best friend did with both hers and made me chuckle about it as she cried at the midwife the second time round because she was embarrassed it happened again. Apparently it’s a lot more common than we think. I’m a nurse and for years when I was on the wards had to clean it up on the job and it’s not nice I guess but it’s part of a job you love to do so try not to worry. They love their job and it’s just part of it. Even tho it’s not nice for us women.

facevalue · 14/05/2020 00:08

@Donnacha11 aww congratulations x lovely to hear you had a good experience after ECS alone.

i wish i could say the same! i was left alone for very long periods while my baby was screaming,i'm in pain with no painkillers and being unable to attend to my baby. i felt abandoned and like i was an inconvenience. i couldn't open my suitcase after the operation to get toiletries etc. simple tasks i just couldn't do and no one checked if i wanted any help. maybe i should have been more verbal but i usually don't like to burden ppl. i burst into tears at 3 am and the midwife was irritated with me saying : why r u crying now?!

facevalue · 14/05/2020 00:10

@november90 goodluck x keep us posted ( don't worry about the poo!) no one gives a shit 🤣 literally

november90 · 14/05/2020 00:18

Aww thank you both! So it turns out that my waters have gone without me even realising! I have to stay in over night and be induced in the morning... ahh! I'm not allowed any visitors and my Mum can only come and see me when I'm on the labour ward only! I'm trying to get some rest but I can't drift off, why are hospitals always so warm 🙈
I'm scared of the induction, is it really that bad?!

@facevalue oh bless you, that must've been so hard for you! Are you both home now? How're you feeling?

sao81 · 14/05/2020 04:08

Baby Lucas arrived at 10:32pm weighing 7lb exactly! The pessary caused me to hypersimulate, so my contractions had to be stopped and started again, he then bobbed out from my pelvis so needed a doctor to break my waters whilst the midwife pressed him down so he didn't nove out of position. Once all that was done, it took 4 hours from waters breaking to him being here. He is doing well, a little cold so needs an incubator but other than that we are both all good

Hi all. Hope you are all well. I don't know if anyone remembers me from the beginning of these threads but i just thought I would check in. Apologies for disappearing... all the days just my pregnancy just mingle into one as you all will know and by the time I'd finish a full day at work I was exhausted.

Well our little miracle arrived at 36+5 weeks after needing to be induced as baby had stopped growing. After a week in hospital baby was born on 11th April at 18:43 and all went well. After years of thinking I had to have a c section just to medical reasons I ended up giving birth naturally. My mum was with me and even though the world is a funny place at the moment I felt calm and looked after. We didn't know the sex so it was a surprise.

Meet Tommy Lawrence.....our gorgeous boy 💙💙 xx

Congratulations on everyone's new arrivals xx

Lu1u · 14/05/2020 07:37

@AppropriateAdult congratulations, 10lbs!!! I bet he is gorgeous and so squishy. When will you be home?

@Sunshine8888 love the sleepsuit, she looks so alert, how much does she weigh now?

@GinUnicorn congrats to you, and a boy! How was last night?

@Donnacha11 what a gorgeous boy and I love his name. Hope your csection recovery is going well

@facevalue you poor thing that's so shit, get on that buzzer don't feel bad using it!!! I hope you have your pain under control now, when are you home?

@sao81 ahhhhh Lucas! So gorgeous, well done you it sounds like your induction went well despite the hyperstimulation. Sounds like we had very similar labours!

@KerryM1983 congratulations to you, baby Tommy looks perfect and hope you are recovering well

I cannot believe how many baby boys we now have in the May club and all born so close together!

GinUnicorn · 14/05/2020 07:39

Congratulations all. Still in postnatal ward hell but hopefully discharged soon. Now we need a boys name ha ha

Lu1u · 14/05/2020 07:41

@november90 good morning, hope you were ok last night on the ward? I KNEW you would be having your baby soon!! Good luck for today (if things didn't kick off last night on their own) you will be absolutely fine, the midwives will look after you and you will be holding your baby so soon! When I was in labour I kept on repeating to myself, "i can do anything for a minute" to get me through each really intense contraction.

And don't worry about pooing, shit happens and I definitely pooed whilst delivering this baby quite a bit at the end but it really is no big deal and the midwives are very discreet about it and will just tidy it up and carry on supporting you. Don't let the thought of having an accident make you scared to push! Sending you all my positive thoughts x

Raindancer411 · 14/05/2020 07:48

No signs for me yet. Am 39+2. Still hoping something's happening I don't know about after being monitored two days ago and the machine going up to 90 on the contraction indicator...

Did I see someone was told they were having a girl and had a boy? Am nervous as I was told a girl and got lots of pink stuff and worried they have it wrong lol

facevalue · 14/05/2020 08:09

@Lu1u we are still in. DD not latching so need the BF nurses to help now ( not virtual help after we leave) and now she's jaundiced - despite them trying to send me home i said no- i want my baby sorted.

speaking of shit and TMI - i've not had my first poo yet so looking forward to that happening soon 😎 - it's so nerve wrecking after surgery 🥺

MarshmallowsOnToast · 14/05/2020 08:35

Congratulations on all the new babies! @ginunicorn what a surprise!

I love checking here in the morning & seeing the updates.

@facevalue sorry the midwives aren't being very helpful to you 😖

@november90 wishing you all the best 🤞x

Saoirse7 · 14/05/2020 10:19

Too many new babies for me to catch up on! Massive congratulations to you all 🤗🤗

@november90 eish you the best for today, hope all goes to plan!

Lu1u · 14/05/2020 10:26

@facevalue I hope they are being more helpful today. I really struggle with breast feeding and getting them latched on so I hear you (awkward flat nipples and both my babies had a slight tongue tie which didn't need snipping but made it more difficult 🙄)

you are doing so well I hope you can get little one latched on and having a good feed without help soon. I am expressing colostrum and topping up with formula at the moment, hoping a bit more milk comes in soon! And enjoy your first poo 💩😁

Emmacb82 · 14/05/2020 10:34

Congratulations to all the new arrivals! Hope you’re all home and snuggly with your babies soon x

@facevalue sorry to hear you’ve not had a good post natal experience. Mine was also awful, no help or support from anyone and they did absolutely no checks on baby even though he was then jaundice and ?septic. Was very disappointed given the circumstances and nothing has moved on since we had poor care 4 years ago. Hopefully most of you will have much better experiences x

woollycat · 14/05/2020 10:41

So many birth announcement, I am losing track. Congratulations to everyone! ☺️

So who is still to go? I think it's only a few of us left? @Raindancer411 @Bumpingalong84 @123Pandy @Helensss @helpasisterout @MarshmallowsOnToast

I feel like I am going to be the last one to go! 39w today, could have to wait until June even! Getting a bit bored at home now I have finished work.

Practical question - should I take newborn size only to the hospital or some 0-3m as well in case baby is big?

Naughtysausage · 14/05/2020 10:55

Me too @woollycat and we're due date buddies.

Congratulations to all the new babies! The photos are lovely! I love a squishy newborn photo. Just so gorgeous.

@facevalue remember you're an incredibly strong woman - be your own best advocate, firmly ask for the care you want. And keep asking. You've got this.

Naughtysausage · 14/05/2020 10:57

Also @woollycat my last baby was over 8lbs and was still fine in newborn size. 0-3 is massive. (Especially new 0-3 which hasn't had a good shrink in the tumble dryer) Grin

helpasisterout · 14/05/2020 11:05

@woollycat I'm very much still hanging in here 39+1 even resorted to sex last night.. now in the huff that nothing has come of it 😂 midwife will sweep me at 40+2 if nothing happens before then! Getting impatient now but inductions where I am are quite in demand so could be June baby too!

Babymamma192 · 14/05/2020 11:11

Huge congratulations to all who have had your babies! I'm getting jealous now due on Saturday and no signs yet

@GinUnicorn Wow what a suprise can't believe she turned out to be a he! Hope you are both doing well Smile

@sao81 Glad lucas has arrived safe and well! He is so cute!
What is it like at the women's hospital? Are you getting plenty of help from the midwifes etc?
@november90 hope all goes well for you today and looking forward to hearing your baby is here safely Flowers
