@May2311 she is so lovely!

Is there a postnatal section in Mumsnet? Be nice to compare newborn stories etc when they arrive.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 08/05/2020 17:10

@ginunicorn

If you're on the app, in section "being a parent" there is an ante natal clubs area.

Not sure if anyone had started one for May 2020 babies yet. If you decide to start a thread let us know 😊

november90 · 08/05/2020 17:34

@GinUnicorn I would love to be part of the thread! I will miss you all as our babies arrive 💓

I have been feeling weird all day. Sickly but light period pains and feeling sick myself! I'm definitely dehydrated.. gonna try and drink lots of water now! My due date is 3 days so really hoping this might be things getting going!

GinUnicorn · 08/05/2020 17:42

@MarshmallowsOnToast awesome thanks will do. Maybe once more little overlords arrive.

@november90 wishing you luck!

123Pandy · 08/05/2020 17:58

@May2311 she's gorgeous!!
How is everyone feeling today?
I've got a pounding headache and keep looking longingly at the world outside ...wanting life to return to normal as soon as is safely possible 😔
Counting down to csection date! @Clairesoph I know what you mean about avoiding thinking about symptoms. I've gone from wanting to go into labour to hoping baby stays put till it's time!

Bumpingalong84 · 08/05/2020 18:50

Hey ladies. @Clairesoph I’m the same have avoided all shops and people generally since the 17th of March when work told me not to go back in 🙈 my husband has been super paranoid so we’ve pretty close to shielded! We have managed to get click and collect slots every week at any supermarket we can and any missing items family have kindly dropped round.

It’s a truly mental time!! My daughter has also been off nursery even tho it’s a hospital nursery and they were happy to take her but figured if I’m avoiding people and hubby is working from home then she should be with us too.

Anyhoo, I have heard Tesco are brilliant. And yes apparently they have very few people in the shop and an arrow system like ikea!

I have no new symptoms to get excited about really, some cramps this morning, but nothings come of them and lots of BH! Otherwise fine. Still early days for me tho not due till the 20th.

Has any second time mum been offered a sweep at 40wks?

AppropriateAdult · 08/05/2020 20:09

I’m a third timer and had a sweep on Wednesday at 40+2. I had one at 41+2 on my last pregnancy. Contractions started 48 hours later that time around, but nothing happening so far this time...

Clairesoph · 08/05/2020 21:05

Thanks ladies, after the day from hell with my almost 2 year old I decided I needed some retail therapy! Pretty much threw the toddler at his dad when he got home from work and went out. Thankfully it was quiet! Got a few boring bits for my other half, mostly shorts and t shirts for my 2 year old and stocked up on some 6-9 month bits ready for when this baby starts nursery (second time mum and it comes sooner than you think lol!) I was sad they had sold out of most of newborn and 0-3 though, otherwise I could've spent a lot more!

november90 · 08/05/2020 23:32

Urgh girls feelings so irritated!!!!
I've felt rotten all night, so sickly and tired. Come to bed and now I'm wide awake and cannot for the life of me stop tossing and turning!!! My right leg is so fidgety I could just cry!!!!!!!! My tummy's rock solid..... waaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!! Sorry to rant, I just needed to!

facevalue · 09/05/2020 00:03

@Clairesoph i wouldn't bother going into any super markets just for baby clothes despite 50% discount. it's not essential and u will kick yourself if u catch it now. order online or get used things from friends - it's not like we can show our babies out and about or go to any groups classes or family 🤒 just keep safe.

@May2311 beautiful picture x glad you are both well and safe at home

facevalue · 09/05/2020 00:13

@november90 yep i've had that shitty day and night yesterday but today was an Ok day - i managed to go with my hubby and DD to the park . we also had an afternoon snooze then picnic in our garden while she played with her daddy on the slide and swing. i forgot it was lockdown.
my friend has weekly ocado delivery so she has been doing my shopping too 😷😍 we just go to pick it up from her house so i'm grateful x

@Clairesoph sorry i only just saw your update - i guess u just had to get out for your sanity which is understandable 🥰😍 i go for a drive and listen to music once a week for my sanity .. i don't stop anywhere🧐 just around my empty neigbour hood

Naughtysausage · 09/05/2020 00:38

Evening all - I'm just popping back in. (I was on the earlier threads, but deleted the app when lockdown hit as I found all the corona threads a bit much). I've still got a couple of weeks before due date, but I've got indigestion and period pains this evening so can't sleep. I don't think it's the start of anything, just all part of baby moving into the right position.

Congrats to everyone who has had their babies already!

And @Clairesoph I completely understand about the lure of Tesco's. Is anyone on the CIBII fb group? I'm trying not to buy nursing clothes yet because I don't know what size I'll be but it's very tempting...

facevalue · 09/05/2020 03:29

🤨heartburn 😒 not much sleep - i'm dreading tomorrow 😫!

sao81 · 09/05/2020 07:28

For anyone after babygrows, I know that next can be expensive but they have some available to order online! Also the odd packet on asda and matalan. My friend is due in September and trying to buy little bits and is struggling to get anything at all in 0-3 it seems most areas are the same 😩

I'm not sure whether it's the heat, but I've woken up with a sickly stomach today. Only managing 3 hours sleep at a time now, I hope this isn't a sign of things to come 😂 4 more sleeps to go 😬 hows everyone feeling?

Clairesoph · 09/05/2020 07:51

It's okay @facevalue I totally see your point, that's what was on my mind all day too! I did also stock up on cow and gate starter packs, infacol, and hopefully the last pack of rennies before birth, oh and badedas! I was actually comical waddling to the checkout cos I didn't get a basket or trolley to minimise my contact!

I went to Tesco for their newborn size too cos my first was born at 7lb10 and they fit him beautifully, I hate baggy sleep suits on new babies 😩 and as this one is going to be early I figured he might be smaller. Next first size is bigger than Tesco newborn and Matalan is huge!!! Anyway, it's done now, should tide me over til he's born now and then Atleast by then my hips won't be as sore and I can make the most of my daily walk 🤞🏻🤞🏻

GinUnicorn · 09/05/2020 07:55

I hear you all with the heartburn.

I swear I have started waddling everywhere these days. Feel massive and uncomfortable. I keep telling myself I should appreciate the quiet before the newborn and toddler are both needing attention!

sao81 · 09/05/2020 08:28

@Clairesoph I can't wait for the hip pain to go, I just want to push my pram! I'm so excited for it 😂
@ginunicorn I'm feeling exactly the same, the lower down the baby gets the more I waddle, just think we haven't got long now!

Raindancer411 · 09/05/2020 10:19

@sao81 My tummy is a bit off too. Hubby moaned that I stunk out the loo last night lol 😂

I am starting to get a bit scared as my due date is now 10 days away!!!

sao81 · 09/05/2020 11:10

@raindancer411 I've been exactly the same 🙈 keep thinking ooh is this it, then nothing. Keep getting people asking "any signs" but how do u politely say I've got the s**ts 😂😂😂

OP posts:
GinUnicorn · 09/05/2020 11:13

Haha I think politeness and pregnancy are incompatible

MarshmallowsOnToast · 09/05/2020 11:24

@sao81

🤣🤣🤣

november90 · 09/05/2020 11:31

The signs certainly mean nothing! I felt so randomly off last night but today I feel fresh as a daisy 😂 Come on baby!!!! I'm ready for you 🤍

MarshmallowsOnToast · 09/05/2020 12:13

It must just be a nighttime thing.

Baby was jabbing me loads painfully all last night (to the point of taking my breath away it hurt that much) but today, hardly anything!

GinUnicorn · 09/05/2020 12:20

I’ve definitely lost more plug either that or lots of discharge (sorry for TMI) and getting hicks. I’m so impatient I want to meet this baby now.

CharlieB93 · 09/05/2020 12:23

Ahhh I’m getting so impatient too! It’s too hot to be this pregnant 😂 I’ve been getting loads of discharge (sorry tmi) I keep expecting to see a plug 😩
