Ohh @Clairesoph I’m so sorry it didn’t work for you 😢 that seems so brutal!! Did you mention the injection?? I don’t know how they would do it without 🙈 I had mine a good 15-20min before they even touched my and I had to get on to all fours with my bum in the air while it worked to get her to drop a bit further and her her bum out my pelvis. I know it’s only 50/50 and I was lucky, but seems like every trust does it a little differently. The way I saw it was at least I would have given it a chance if it didn’t work and that’s what you’ve done. Hope you aren’t too sore. It is pretty rough what they do 😢. Hope you get a section date soon.

Clairesoph · 06/05/2020 19:08

@Bumpingalong84 that's kind of what I was expecting. It was weird, they didn't monitor me or anything. I went straight into a scan room, where I stayed for the duration with one midwife. She plonked the scanner on my belly said, yep that's a head. Tilted the bed back so my feet were in the air and then just pushed and shoved. It probably only lasted 10 minutes but felt like an hour and when she couldn't move him one way she tried the other way and said no, sorry doesn't seem like he's going to budge. Then they hooked me up to a monitor and once they were happy the criteria was met I was on my merry way. But like you say, Atleast I tried! Fingers crossed they call tomorrow with a date then I can get crazy nervous/excited and count down the days to meeting my baby boy 💙

Bumpingalong84 · 06/05/2020 20:14

@Clairesoph that’s shocking! I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I had a dr do it, under observation or a consultant and a midwife there too! It was all calm and relaxed and they really took their time, I was there 3hrs! I’m so sorry it was a horrible rushed experience for you. But you know you gave that option a go, and now like you say you’ll be counting down the days soon. And maybe he just doesn’t want to be upside down 🙂 let us know when you get a date and I hope he behaves and stays put till his eviction date.

november90 · 06/05/2020 21:10

@Clairesoph that's such a shame that you had such a horrible experience! I hope you find peace with having a section. Did you say whether this has been booked in?

I lost part of my plug this morning and my bump has dropped a lot... but nothing since and now I'm upset 🙈 I've had a few pains here and there.... I have just washed my hair so tomorrow would be a good day 😂

AppropriateAdult · 06/05/2020 21:14

Can I join you?! 40+2 today, had an examination and sweep this morning and cervix is very favourable. Have had a show since and lots of random irregular pains but nothing concrete yet. Am very impatient, this is baby #3 and I’m thoroughly over being pregnant at this stage Blush

Clairesoph · 06/05/2020 21:27

Thanks ladies! I wonder if it was because I was last appointment of the day 🤷🏻‍♀️ who knows. In many ways I'm glad it was short lived and I had already prepared myself for the need for a section so I don't feel sad. I was lucky to be able to experience a natural birth with my son and now I'll carry two scars to represent both boys being a pain the ass before they were even earth side! Bit more worried about recovery with a two year old but worse things are happening in the world and thankfully I have family close by and a very supportive partner. Obviously still absolutely bricking it BUT Im gonna have a baby this month 🙌🏻🤩

sao81 · 07/05/2020 11:18

So the ECV didn't happen, hes moved himself head down 😂 another scan on Tuesday to be sure but all being well induction is going ahead on Wednesday 😬

Ahhh @sao81 that’s amazing! So pleased you didn’t have to have it done. I was told to do figure of 8’s on my ball to keep her head down. Ahh you’ll be meeting your baby so soon.

Clairesoph · 07/05/2020 12:24

@sao81 that's great news! Clever baby! And not long to go to meet them 😩💕

Lu1u · 07/05/2020 12:31

@Clairesoph sorry it didn't go as planned but it sounds like you have made peace with having a CS so have everything crossed for you that things go smoothly!

@sao81 that's fab news 😁

@AppropriateAdult hello! I think we might have the same due date (4th May?) I hope your sweep gets things going soon, I had a sweep on Sunday and have lost the mucous plug but things seem to be progressing so slowly 😣 how old are your DC1 and 2?

123Pandy · 07/05/2020 12:36

@sao81 great news!! Keep him head down..not long now :)

sao81 · 07/05/2020 13:09

Thanks everyone, think I will live on the ball until next week 😂

38w appointment went well - baby is still head down and 2/5 engaged! The birth centre midwife was really nice and for once I didn't feel rushed. Really hoping things stay as they are and I get to give birth at the birth centre.

woollycat · 07/05/2020 13:13

AND today is my last day at work 🤩

AppropriateAdult · 07/05/2020 13:15

Hi @Lu1u - yes, I was due on the 4th. Have been losing the mucus plug since yesterday afternoon but nothing else much seems to be happening Sad Older kids are 6 and almost 3. Do you have children already?

sao81 · 07/05/2020 13:18

@woollycat happy mat leave day! Glad your appointment went well x

@sao81 yay I'm sooo happy for you! He must have turned and thought... naaahhh I don't like it up here, off I go again 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Girls just wondering what your tummy's feel like? I'm concerned mine is still quite hard and high up. Some times it's low then I'll feel a massive lump right at the top! (Hopefully his bottom). It also gets REALLY hard, but not like a contraction. I know second time around they bob in and out of engagement.... just getting antsy as my due date is Monday!

Bumpingalong84 · 07/05/2020 14:47

@november90 that happens to mine but it’s when I get braxton hicks! Goes as solid as a rock and is a little uncomfortable but not painful. Happens so regularly throughout the day.

Helensss · 07/05/2020 15:04

@sao81 yay that’s good news!
@november90 my due date is monday too! mine goes rock solid too and a big lump at the top which I'm assuming ia the bum.
did you lose anymore plug? x

november90 · 07/05/2020 15:15

@Bumpingalong84 I haven't been getting any BH so far. It goes hard a lot when I've been lying down. I hope yours haven't been too uncomfortable! You don't need la our pains when yours not in it 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Helensss no I didn't and I feel like I'm massively disappointed everytime I go to the toilet haha! I've felt a bit deflated today and just managing to worry about everything!

My MW said the baby had his back to my side and then legs across. It still feels like this 😬 but them sometimes it goes really squishy! It's so odd! I feel huge but must be carrying a lot of fluid as although the baby but feels hard, there's also big bits of squishy sometimes!

GinUnicorn · 07/05/2020 15:27

@november90 I think I’ve lost a bit of plug too! I keep looking for more.

Raindancer411 · 07/05/2020 15:41

@november90 That is how mine is laying apparently too

MarshmallowsOnToast · 07/05/2020 15:57

My bump is usually always rock solid but I have a lot of a fluid.

It gets softer sometimes apparently when the baby drinks some, then gets hard again when baby pees it out (I was told by sonographer). 🤔 maybe she was winding me up though! Lol

november90 · 07/05/2020 16:11

@MarshmallowsOnToast oh really! That's so interesting!

Thanks for reassuring me everyone :)

Rinoa · 07/05/2020 17:04

@november90 I'm 36 weeks tomorrow. My belly feels tighter up top and flabbier at the bottom lol I thought that would be the opposite if baby is head down now, so odd! And it gets really hard throughout the day. FTM so not sure if that's considered BH.
