@Raindancer411 it definitely sounds like something could be happening 😀 I keep looking for the same signs as yesterday but I know I shouldn't as my pregnancy has been totally different so my labour could well be too!

I've not really had any obvious signs other then the odd pain here and there! I heard using your breast pump can help move things along. I might wack it out later as I'm 39 weeks today 😬😀

GinUnicorn · 04/05/2020 08:54

I keep checking for mucus plug when I pee as that was a sign last time but nothing yet. Sorry for the TMI

Raindancer411 · 04/05/2020 09:05

@helpasisterout Yep any new aches make me feel like this ConfusedHmm

@november90 They say not to use a breast pump but say you can hand express as is it's more gentler.

Everything seems to have settled this morning but I shall be on the alert now lol Not sure if my midwife will check tmw with it I am starting to dilate is not.

@sao81 before I spoke to my consultant I had it in my head that I was going to say no to ECV. But he was lovely and without being pushy said I had a good chance of them turning her as she was my second. And he said if you find it too uncomfortable they will just stop. I thought ok let’s give it a go. It’s 50/50 to work but only 2-3% that they will flip back. So to me it was worth it.

I won’t lie it was uncomfortable, felt like burning sensation against my skin as they pull a lot to get them to budge. But it was worth the maximum of 10min of discomfort as for me she was pushing on a vessel that made me go dizzy when I laid down and the heartburn is better and hopefully now I can have the water birth I want. So for me it was worth it as I really can’t wait to properly pick my 4yr old up for a cuddle and be able to carry my baby without help.

It’s personal choice and don’t feel pressured, just go with your gut. There is nothing wrong with going for a planned section. My scan is in 10min.

woollycat · 04/05/2020 11:23

Congats to the new arrivals, what an exciting time! @mrsf1204 sorry to hear about the tear, I am thinking of you and hoping you have a quick recovery ❤️

@sao81 @Clairesoph good luck with the babies turning back! I am 37+4 today and freaking out that my girl might also have turned to breech as this morning have started feeling kicks low down. Time for some birth ball bouncing. 38w appointment is on Thursday, we will see what midwife can feel.

I am still working until end of this week - really ready for some time off!

I am getting a little anxious about breastfeeding. I really really want to breast feed but worry whether it will work or not. Have been reading loads about it and watching videos to educate myself. Really hope there will be a lactation specialist at the hospital after the birth to help me on the first day.

Bumpingalong84 · 04/05/2020 11:40

Baby was so low down they midwife struggled to see her head at first 😊 so got a sonographer to double check and she’s well and truly engaged whoop 🙌🏻 s for me the ECV was worth it. She waved me off and said I could have my baby now 😂 I see my midwife tomorrow for my 38wk check! Just looking at my notes it says you don’t see the midwife again till 41wks as a second time mum, is that right! I expected to see her at 40wks! Tho I’m hoping she would have come by then!!

sao81 · 04/05/2020 12:01

@Lu1u how are you feeling today? Have you made a decision on what to do?
@ginunicorn @Clairesoph @woollycat thank you! I've calmed down a little now, going to make a list of questions for consultant regarding the ecv and make a final decision on Wednesday. Think I was in shock yesterday that he had moved!
@bumpingalong84 im glad it went well for you! Its made me feel alot more positive about maybe getting one. Fingers crossed things go nice and straightforward and no more naughty baby moving 😂

@Bumpingalong84 wohoo that's amazing news! I have been given a 40 week app and my sheet stated the same advice as your post below so now sure whether it's normal or not! I was really hoping I wouldn't make it until then. I really want my little baby here this week :)

123Pandy · 04/05/2020 12:46

@Bumpingalong84 that's amazing news!! so glad it's worked out.
After speaking to consultant, I decided not to go ahead with the ECV as not right for me - so elective section now. Not the way I planned it (all my hypnobirthing prep has gone out of the window 😔) but figured it's the best thing for bump so that's what I'll do.

Bumpingalong84 · 04/05/2020 13:01

Good for you @123Pandy. I think everyone has to do what’s best for them. I’m sure you can use your hypnobirthing just to keep you calm if you have any anxiety pre section.

I’m so so pleased baby is head down and engaged 3/5th apparently. I just want her to come now, so excited to meet her and introduce her to her big sister. I’m having so many braxton hicks and they are such a tease making me feel Like ohhh is this it!!

123Pandy · 04/05/2020 13:08

@Bumpingalong84 that's a good sign! Anytime now ..how exciting ☺️☺️

Lu1u · 04/05/2020 13:18

@bumpingalong84 fantastic news! Yes second pregnancy here too and I had a 38 week appointment and then my next scheduled one is at 41+1 which feels like forever between appointments

@woollycat it sounds like you are doing all the right things to prepare for breast feeding, easier said than done but try not to stress too much. You may have an excellent feeder who latches on first time and away you go, you just don't know! I didn't have a very successful time Bfing my first but I am definitely up for trying again and like you have been doing lots of research and watching videos. Has your health visitor been in contact with you yet? I had a telephone appointment and during that they went through how BFing support is being provided once home.

@123Pandy glad you are happy with your decision, do you know when your CS will scheduled for?

@sao81 thanks for asking, movements are better/more regular today so just plodding on. The sweep appears to have done fuck all though 😂 no bleeding/show or mucous plug and have been having tightenings throughout the morning but I have had those for weeks so I don't think anything will happen any time soon! I think I will just call up labour ward if I am worried about movements again and go from there but I think all fine for the moment anyway

GinUnicorn · 04/05/2020 14:57

@Lu1u I think I’m mucus plug obsessed checking every pee. I missed it last time completely ha ha. You might find it’s already passed.

@woollycat the best advice with breast feeding I can give is try to go easy on yourself. It feels like so much pressure on us sometimes Flowers

@123Pandy just wishing you all the best. I don’t think they often follow our plans :(

@Bumpingalong84 that’s great news! Happy for you

Helensss · 04/05/2020 15:40

Hi everyone,
Does anyone have any positive plug loss to labour? I had some yesterday tinged pink then a bit amount of mucas this morning, had a few period pains on and off and trying not to obsess and hope it’ll happen sooner rather than later!
I did have a growth scan this morning and baby in the right position 🤞🏻 X

Helensss · 04/05/2020 15:40

*plug loss to labour stories sorry

Bumpingalong84 · 04/05/2020 16:24

@Helensss how far along are you?

I know I keep looking for mucous plug every time I go to the loo 🙈 I don’t remember seeing it at all with DD my waters just went at 36+3 and had her 12hrs later. No time at home nothing. All very quick! Now I’m 37+5 I feel like this ones already a week late and she’s not 🤣 I’m being so impatient already and it could be a few weeks yet 🤦🏻‍♀️

Helensss · 04/05/2020 17:16

@bumpingalong84 I’m 39 weeks exactly today!
was so relaxed and fully expecting to go over due date but now I’ve seen that I can’t stop thinking about it! I get why you are waiting because your last one was early,
Fingers crossed you aren’t waiting too long xx

november90 · 04/05/2020 17:35

@Bumpingalong84 I am doing the exact same thing! I've been obsessing over looking out for that plug ever since abit 36 weeks 😂

@Helensss with my first I lost my plug on the Thursday evening (no waters), had period pains and contractions all night and ended up in hospital on Friday and my little boy came Saturday :) the birth wasn't straight forward, hence the delay, had everything been straight forward I bet he would've arrived sooner! My sister lost her plug and had her baby within 24 hours :) fingers crossed it won't be long for you!!

november90 · 04/05/2020 17:57

I've been feeling a bit sicky today.... trying to tell myself it might be a sign and not the massive Cadbury's I've eaten 😂

Helensss · 04/05/2020 18:06

@november90 oo really that’s encouraging! Thank you ☺️I’m sooooo keen to go into labour and get it done now
I have mild cramps but they come and go which is annoying xx

november90 · 04/05/2020 19:01

@Helensss I feel like I could be pregnant forever and be happy, I love pregnancy!! But one week away from my due date I'm worried about going over and having a huge baby again so I hate wishing my pregnancy away when I love carrying him so much, I just want him here safe and sound. Does anyone else feel the same?
Having a bit of tummy ache this evening and just feeling a bit off. My little boy is bathed with fresh bedding and I'm gonna jump in the shower and TRY and shave my legs.... just in case 😂

Helensss · 04/05/2020 19:10

@november90 yep I know what you mean,
I’ve enjoyed being pregnant too but I really want him here now.
I had a growth scan today and he’s measuring 8lb5 at the moment, my midwife kept telling me
he was big! Ha I shaved my legs yesterday in anticipation abut no change today 😂X

Lu1u · 04/05/2020 19:33

I don't want to get my hopes up too much but I just had my mucous plug @GinUnicorn! Hoping that means things are moving along a bit, I had a mucous plug and bloody show with my first whilst vomiting everywhere and in pain so this is a bit different to what I was expecting.

@helensss that sounds promising! my first was very similar to @november90 with the plug/bloody show coming a few days before actually giving birth (early labour was long AF, I knew I was going into labour on Tuesday afternoon and didn't give birth till Friday, sigh!)

@november90 don't get me started on the cadburys, I literally ordered a giant 800g bar off Amazon for £9.99 earlier today 😂

GinUnicorn · 04/05/2020 19:44

@Lu1u how exciting!! I am so impatient for any sign right now.

CharlieB93 · 04/05/2020 20:11

Ahhh I’m so jealous of everyone having signs! I’m 38+1, feel no different to how I did ten weeks ago 😂 don’t feel as if the baby is engaged and bump is really high up still!
Weird question - what’s everyone’s views on birthing balls? I absolutely hate bouncing on one, it just gives me back ache and I feel really uncomfortable on one. Are they a waste of time or should I persevere? One of my friends said it’s ‘a must’ to get baby engaged. I’m walking about 3 miles a day on average - do you think that would engage the baby instead?
