Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Insy, it is a nightmare! The side by side P&T is only 75 cm wide so would just squeeze through doorways but feels so much larger than the P&T sport. I do like the idea of both kids seeing out though. Arrrggh this is doing my head in!
Whilst we were looking at them a lady came up to get the cosytoes and told us how happy she was with her P&T Sport, she said her little one moved to toddler seat at back around 4 months old and had no probs.

mixedmama · 27/09/2007 11:05

Hey ladies....

Just been arranging the meet up for the Jan ladies and if any of you still want to come aalong then we are tentatively thinking

Fri 26 Oct
Curry (as lotss of ladies over there are craving it - trying not to think of heartburn)
Covent Garden.

let me know...

Sorry hijack over. i will take this to the meet up section, but jsut being lazy.

Mrswizz · 27/09/2007 11:06

Morning everyone! I'm adding myself to the black bags, bad night club. Sorry to hear you've been feeling awful Mother of Z. Suey, no sleep for me either - just too big and heavy to get comfy. Aching back and legs and hips.

insywinsyspider · 27/09/2007 11:11

the advantage of the sport over the e3 (previous model) is that you can recline the seats a little but ds sat so late I'm working on 6mo min - didn't realise the twin was so slim, whats the age gap? I couldn't cope with my two fighting/poking each other when they got older - only 15mo between me and bro and I remember we'd constandly try and wind each over up!
also I hadn't considered change bags - I don't think I can sling mine over the handles with both in and toddler in back seat has feet in basket so will be able to grab everything and doesn't leave much room for shopping... problem is they all have pros and cons but am happy with how easy it is to use

ps am getting very christmassy too - making most of our xams pressies again this year, our family is so big we only have to send a token gift and its cheaper and more meaningful to make it - did the christmas chutney last week, got to make an xams pud for my mum next month (my only xmas dinner contribution!) and hunting around for ideas - how long does fudge keep for?
can't wait to get our tree out - having friends over for xmas dinner party mid nov so might get everything down for then if dh will let me!

mixedmama · 27/09/2007 11:21

quite excited abotu Xmas too... will be first Xmas at "us" so will be nice. want to start gettign the pressie in.

Housemum · 27/09/2007 11:25

I like Christmas too! We've cut back a lot on pressies - we found that we just ended up swapping CDs/smellies/tins of biscuits which seemed daft, so just give pressies to kids, apart from one couple without kids where we give a present to them as they give to our kids. Sometimes I make something if I am in the mood!

Last year I finished my Christmas quilt - full bed-sized quilt kit, was sent to me one pack a month for a year but it actually took me 2 years to finish it as I'm not v organised! (And we had our loft converted in the middle so didn't feel like sewing when building going on). Looks great draped over the sofa - i suppose I'll find out how well it stands up to baby puke this year!

I'm ahead on the washing - have got a cute washing-line-full of 0 - 3 mth clothes drying (that'll get the neighbours wondering what's happened!) - the weather was so nice today that I thought if I got them all done now and put them in the drawers, they wouldn't need washing nearer the time when I'd end up with stuff drying all over the radiators & baths. Just need to sort into pink & unisex piles. Pram out in the garden to air too (old pram).

Feeling sooo relaxed as it's so quiet at home (DD2 & DH in Paris until tomorrow evening). And my friend had her daughter yesterday - can't wait to see them! (And scare myself with the thought that I've got to go through it in December...)

claireybee · 27/09/2007 12:10

Thanks I think she is pretty gorgeous too, but then I am biased!

Loucee, I too am scared of the loft! To the extent that there is nothing stored in mine at all! My understairs cupboard is crammed full, and i very cheekily put most of my stored stuff in my parents loft which is a walk in one, rather than a climb up one!

Loucee · 27/09/2007 12:19

You ladies making stuff like chutney and fudge, what a great idea. I need to do more stuff like that as we also have huge family and now some of the nieces and nephews are older they only ever want vouchers as presents and it soon adds up buying a decent amount for a voucher. If I gave them something lovely and homemade it could be a combined pressie..... and I love that idea as not commercialised at all.

Claire - yay I don't feel like a freak now! Not sure what it is about the loft (not like it's huge!) but just don't like going up there. We only keep a few bits up there as it isn't boarded.

Mixedmama, lovely that this will be a chirstmas just for the 4 of you, lots of lovely old Christmas films and nice comforting food.

Housemum, you're right, if I wash the clothes now and air then put away in drawers they wont need washing again in 11 wks.

Insy - the panier bags look good for the P&T, will let you carry some shopping or could store the changing bag? I also love the P&T sport, I am just crap at making decisions! Age gap will be 22 months

mixedmama · 27/09/2007 12:26

Loucee - whe i say xmas at me i mean

Dh
me
DS
Bro
Mum
Dad
Auntie
2 cousins

So 9 of us. We all live local tho and my dad does all the cooking, so will be nice.

Loucee · 27/09/2007 12:32

Sorry Mixedmama, read that too quickly!
It will be great to be with your family at Christmas, especially if wee one makes an appearance!

We've invited the inlaws to ours but they think we're taking on too much with me being due on 17th. It would be MIL, FIL and two SILs so not a huge amount and I think I'd like a busy house this year with me just sitting back nursing newborn (unless they're late!!)

mixedmama · 27/09/2007 12:35

My lot are relaly good. They will cook, wash up etc so wont be any work for me. They are also veyr good at leaving if it gets too much and i dont feel bad sayign i need to sleep can you leave etc.

insywinsyspider · 27/09/2007 12:54

loucee - similar age gap to mine then - 19mo, hadn't looked at panier bags, did get a sleeping bag/cosy toes for it this week tho as its really getting chilly

Love telling people I'm making xmas pressies they are always impressed [smug] won't be thinking that when am frantically trying to get everything finished in time! will be lovely when ds can make some too!

dundeemarmalade · 27/09/2007 13:02

have just heard on the news that a woman in russia has given birth to a baby weighing 17 and a half pounds. OUCH!

Housemum · 27/09/2007 13:26

Am crossing my legs now... (ouch)

Loucee · 27/09/2007 13:43

my eyes are watering at 17lbs baby!

mixedmama · 27/09/2007 14:09

Did you see the picture with the "average" size baby next to the 17 lb baby??

mixedmama · 27/09/2007 14:10

Apparently all her babies (11 of them) have been over 5kg.

Cressida1979 · 27/09/2007 14:19

Hello, this is my first ever message! So I hope I get the acronyms right... I'm due to have my first baby on Christmas Eve (hmmm, could have planned that one better!) so have been reading this thread for a while and appreciating all the information and laughs. Very luckily, things are going fine for me at the moment but no doubt I'll encounter some weird/gross/painful stuff soon that I'll need to ask you all about! None of my close friends are pregnant or have children and my mum's dated advice is driving me mad so I'm really hoping to chat to other expectant mums/mums and maybe even meet up with some who might live in the London area. Right, will stop banging on now! Thanks!

mixedmama · 27/09/2007 14:23

Welcome!!!

insywinsyspider · 27/09/2007 14:39

hello!
none of my friends had children when I had ds either (in fact they still haven't - they all thought 25 was way to young ) but MN is fab for finding out all the info

mixedmama was planning some kind of get together for you London lot so perfect chance to meet mums to be

Mrswizz · 27/09/2007 14:39

Welcome Cressida. I hope, like me you'll find Mumsnet great for a laugh, moan or advice- especially when everyone around you is bored of hearing pregnancy woes and doesn't understand.

(Moan alert) Talking of that, still knackered from no sleep last night - can barely keep my eyes open at my desk. Definately having a growing day today - skin and ligaments really stretching. And I've got to hang around in town after work until 7.30 when my college course starts. Can't cope!

MotherofZ · 27/09/2007 14:41

Darn..just typed a msg and my laptop cut out on ...
Here goes again..
Just to say thank you to all those lovely people who wished me well - bed resting at home now. Went to Asda to buy some peppermint tea and nearly passed out, so sat in the 'George' changing room until I felt better.

Talking of Xmas, started to read an Xmas 'feel-good' novel last night. Can't wait until the holidays (am hoping bean will arrive before the 25th though!), but got Eid to look forward to first in the middle of October.

I'm also going to keep DD at nursery when I am on M/L and after bean is born. Will put her in 3 mornings a week and then 2 days at inlaws. She gets bored quickly at home as she is always pulling me to the door saying 'outside' - so think it will be good for her to continue going.

MotherofZ · 27/09/2007 14:41

Welcome Cressida! at london meet up

MotherofZ · 27/09/2007 14:43

Poor Mrs Whizz - know the feeling of being like that at work.
How about a cup of tea, or sometimes a short walk might help if the stretching pains are not too bad.

mixedmama · 27/09/2007 14:56

I thought you may have gone home MotherofZ - are you going to take tomorrow off as well

Oh yes Cressida.... we are going for a curry in Covent Garden on 26 Oct... well those are the provisional plans anyway.
