NBG - how are you feeling now? can anyone come round and give you a hand so you can have a lie down? you need a plan of action so you can get some rest during next 10 wks - spd sounds awful

sorry to here about your fall too mswizz - I'm itching to meet the baby too - I think we had a break though on names last night - we actually agreed on some last night so we're all set!

vnmum - don't worry too much about your scar (I'm really trying hard not to think about mine which is hard as it aches all the time) I spoke to MW (well truthfully I cried) and she said there is a good chance that the scar will be fine even though mine didn't heal very well, everything has been stretched before so it should be much easier this time, I was concerned the scar tissue would be weaker and I'd tear next to the scar but she said that wasn't the case and to start perinal massage to soften everything - its all a bit tender at the moment so I haven't done anything about it

MotherofZ · 19/09/2007 13:19

poor NBG! sending you loads of hugs, hope you and DS aren't too badly injured as a result of the fall. Do you have anyone near by who can give you support in these last few weeks?

Am getting the breathlessness too when I wake in the morning, but it usually goes after about 10 mins.

Mrs Whizz - sorry to hear about your family. Hope you are ok now.

insywinsy - sorry to hear about your scar pain. I had an epsiotomy (sp?) last time, so does that mean I might have problems during birth?

Nbg · 19/09/2007 13:21

My mums coming to help out tomorrow and Friday.

Then it will be the odd day here and there.

Dh has said he will take leave if I get bad but we just cant afford it atm.

Sadly my family are 30+ miles away and dh's are 70+ miles away and both my parents still work.

MotherofZ · 19/09/2007 13:24

mrs whizz - ooooppph family = fall (don't know where that came from!!)

insywinsyspider · 19/09/2007 13:29

motherofz - it doesn't mean you'll have problsms this time at all - I guess it depends how well you healed but my MW was adament I shouldn't get hung up about it, I think she said if people can have vbac then your epsi should be a problem but because I'm so concious of it it plays on my mind

Nbg - I hope you get the support you need, are there any mums you know nearby who can help? even if its just setting up a play date/coffee at yours they can help with playing with ds whilst you put your feet up - I'm sure they wouldn't mind, I know I'd be happy to do that for a friend

MotherofZ · 19/09/2007 13:41

NBG - if you were nearby I would have bought you a nice fat chocolate cake.

vnmum · 19/09/2007 13:42

thanks insy, mine hurts if too much pressure is put on it as if stretching so it will prob hurt to do massage but will give it a go, if i can get myself ninto a position to do it.lol. i cant do any lady gardening at the mo and its abit of a stretch act to wipe my bum (too much info i know)so how i'll manage to do massage i dont know

Nbg · 19/09/2007 14:47

Choc cake sounds good MZ

skidaddle · 19/09/2007 15:20

can I have a small slice too Nbg - no fall or spd but I am missing a daughter and need cheering up (actually I am off for coffee and cake with a friend in half an hour so on second thoughts I won't deny you your full cake of which you are MUCH more deserving than me)

suey2 · 19/09/2007 15:22

had a chocolate brownie at lunch! YUM!
I thought I may as well wait for a definitive diagnosis before i start cutting out everything that is yummy!

vnmum - get DH to do it My Dh has no scrupples about anything. Tried to do abit of grooming before going to the hosp last night, virtually impossible couldnt see a thing.

skidaddle · 19/09/2007 15:24

oh yes my dh does it for me too - much more fun than doing it yourself plus often leads to other bonuses

insywinsyspider · 19/09/2007 15:30

I was about to say when ever I ask my dh he gets other ideas! don't understand it this time, last time was horny as anything this time really not fussed....

suey2 · 19/09/2007 15:33

no way my dh would do that! It is my one regular visit to a salon (haven't even had hair cut for 6 months) and my 6 weekly brazilian manages to feel like a treat.

skidadd, i am going to try and keep going so have booked another tidy in 5 weeks (34weeks) then will book (tentatively) for 39weeks. Once I got used to it when I was marathon training, i feel really manky without it. Must be weird

skidaddle · 19/09/2007 15:35

yes me too insy - not so horny this time - v. annoying for all involved (or not)

skidaddle · 19/09/2007 15:35

suey2 you are a brave woman!

mixedmama · 19/09/2007 15:37

My hubby doesnt care about anything. I asked him to get me tissues last night at the hospital (after internal - TMI) and he lifted up the cover to get on with wiping.... then proceeded to try it on on this ward with 3 other women. Honetsly, sometimes I worry about him.

I want to go and have a wax at a salon, but just really embarrassed about someone seeing all my bits, ridiculous considering I have already been through childbirth and it is not the most dignified.

MotherofZ · 19/09/2007 15:41

lol @ mm hubby!

My dh cut my toe nails aswell!! Did not complain once!

skidaddle · 19/09/2007 15:42

OMG MM I thought you meant your dh tried to wipe another three women after he was done with you!!! You didn't mean that, did you?

suey2 · 19/09/2007 15:44

MM they do such a good job! Far better than I can- i once did it myself in front of the telly and DH reported that it was pretty uneven and incomplete. That and he was totally grossed out by the intermittent 'rips'. Give it a go- they are so quick and really don't give a shit.
I was having a chat with one beautician who regularly did a hollywood for one client- because her DH didn't like her to have any hair at all!! So she came in every 2 weeks. I did have to say that I thought her DH may be wanting a child rather than a wife, but teh beautician was very diplomatic

OP posts:
mixedmama · 19/09/2007 15:48

LOL Suey. As Muslims we are supposed to be completely clean shaven anyway - men and women, so me thinks the beautician would be a much better bet.

mixedmama · 19/09/2007 15:49

skidaddle - of course not - made me laugh. I didnt even let him wipe me.

suey2 · 19/09/2007 15:51

I didn't know that! Maybe he wasn't a sexual deviant after all. Thinking about it, my muslim pals at college were pretty slick with the old sugaring- I tried it once and nearly got serious burns.

OP posts:
mixedmama · 19/09/2007 15:54

I tried sugaring once my poor legs looked like i had love bites all over them.... never again.

MotherofZ · 19/09/2007 15:55

agree with Suey - going to get myself waxed and tidyied at 38 weeks (39 weeks is Xmas time so want the baby by then!)

Has anyone tried threading? I get my eyebrows that way and it's brilliant, quick and less painful.
