@umabb @newbyxx Hope your babies get moving soon. It's so stressful isn't it? Mine seems to move regularly but sometimes the movements are light, but I find it hard to know if this is something to be concerned about as I have lighter episodes every day, so not unusual as such. Much prefer the more enthusiastic movements as they reassure me a lot more.

@APD1981 Not surprised you're concerned, but it sounds likely it's just been caused by the physical activity. Hopefully it resolves itself soon.

APD1981 · 12/04/2020 16:36

Thanks everyone. Not had any more blood or mucus type stuff so I think I was the result of this morning that has caused it rather than my mucus plug. No pain and plenty of wriggles including hiccups. Hubby feels really guilty. He thinks he did something wrong. I had spoken to him before this morning about being nervous as I have an ectropian cervix but he was really struggling with lack of intimacy so I said I'd try. Think he's OK to just leave it now as it's so stressful finding blood!

@newbyxx I'm so sorry you're having to stay in but it's definitely the best thing, just in case. Get scoffing some Easter egg to get him moving! Thinking of you. Please keep us updated x

Busylizzie85 · 12/04/2020 17:09

I swear I am more anxious now about movements towards the end then I have been throughout the pregnancy! I find that she's been quiet a lot recently which I have put down to change in routine and it being hot, she seems to have flurry's of movement and then much lighter movements most of the day but then sometimes a few hours goes by where I don't feel her at all and I worry. It's rare I have strong kicks anymore most movement are wriggles or rolls where either her head or bum makes weird shapes across my tummy.
I'm sure this is preparing us all for the worry they will make us feel for the rest of there lives in the big wide world x

mrssunshinexxx · 12/04/2020 17:18

@Busylizzie85 I can go hours without feeling my baby and I don't worry don't know if that makes me a crap mum but I would only worry if it had been like 6/8 hours perhaps ?

Busylizzie85 · 12/04/2020 19:05

Thank you @mrssunshinexxx that does make me feel better x

Ginfilledcats · 12/04/2020 19:14

I've been to hospital 5 time with reduced movements, or what I thought were. Every time she's been fine but it doesn't stop the fear. My midwives and doctor said to me after my latest episode to wait longer next time I notice a difference or a change.
Try lying down in bed relaxed, watch something on your phone to distract you, have a glass of cold water and something sugary and see how you go over 2 hours.

umabb · 12/04/2020 19:46

Eventually I called triage and they sent me in immediately to the labour ward guess because that's where is still open on Easter Sunday ... No women screaming when I went in luckily as nobody was in labour this evening. So you guys are so right as soon as Doppler on he's kicking and moving big times! The doctor was like oh your baby is all over the place.. stayed for 20mins seem to be all fine. I was told if I'm not happy call them again. Excellent service I have to say.
Panic over... but I think you are right, @Busylizzie85 it's just the start of it isn't it..

31 wk today.

Same as @mrssunshinexxx I can go hours and feel nothing. In the morning and evening are my main movement periods.

mrssunshinexxx · 12/04/2020 20:10

@Pegase I'm the same! She's obviously sleeping through the day mostly also when your busy you won't notice some movements

Ralexandrah · 12/04/2020 22:30

Is anyone getting thoroughly frustrated with baby books atm? At 31 weeks they're all talking about going for pregnancy massages, the amazing friends you'll meet at classes and booking a baby moon. And all of us are stuck inside the house! I'm trying not to let it get to me, but it's hard enough reading about helpful partners performing massages when my baby's father hasn't been in touch since January, without thinking of all the chances to meet other mums-to-be I'm missing out on. Obviously we totally need to stay at home and save lives, but I can't be the only one who is struggling?

chocolate26 · 12/04/2020 22:50

Mines the same, most active in the morning and evening. I do feel him/her throughout the day aswell but they are lighter movements. I've been in for reduced movements once so far at 25 weeks and baby had just moved position. I definitely know it's routine now though so I would be straight to get checked if anything was off.

AH16 · 13/04/2020 08:43

Am I able join? Sorry late to the group.
I'm due on June 10th. Feeling very tired now and baby always seem like he/she is in my ribs

Mj2196 · 13/04/2020 09:29

@Ralexandrah yes! . I feel incredibly selfish but I dreamed of my last weeks pottering round baby shopping & stopping off in coffee shops 🙈It took us 2 years ttc & now we’re finally here I can’t help but feel helpless. All this time at home & the current situation is making me super anxious. Going to give the positive birth digital thing a try I think !
31+1

mrssunshinexxx · 13/04/2020 09:40

Of course @AH16 welcome x

APD1981 · 13/04/2020 09:48

@Mj2196 I think I'm going to give the positive birth digital course a go, too. This month we were booked onto NHS hypnobirthing and parent craft courses which obviously have been cancelled. I have some books my friend gave me about hypnobirthing and general ante natal stuff but I can't face reading them. Don't know why. Maybe it's because I want something interactive and also something I can do with my hubby. This the digital course is the way to go.

APD1981 · 13/04/2020 09:51

@AH16 glad you found us 😊

I have really tired days and then other days when I'm not too bad. I was OK yesterday despite only getting about 5 hours sleep but I'm up and dressed now but feel like I need a nap already! My mum said that with us she finished work at 6 months and napped every afternoon!

UnilakTea · 13/04/2020 11:11

Can I join Grin I am 32 weeks today, due 8th of June with my first! It's a boy!

umabb · 13/04/2020 11:20

@UnilakTea @AH16 welcome to the club!

Little B was very active last night after the panic I had yesterday. Typical....

@umabb that's exactly what happened to me after I had to go in when I didn't feel him all day! He started dancing for the monitor at 1am and didn't stop for the rest of the night! 😍

I'm 31 weeks today and waiting for a lot of deliveries this week so hopefully will be able to start getting organised!! How many outfits are you all putting in for baby in your bag? I can't judge how many to buy in each size as have a predicted big baby!!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 13/04/2020 12:00

@BabyBird20 my son was 9lbs exactly and he still needed a few newborn bits as 0-3 would cover his face a bit.

I can't find my steriliser anywhere. My husband won't let me in the loft and claims its not up there... need to sneak up there when he's at work and im not being terrorised by the 3 year old

NakeliP · 13/04/2020 12:25

What do people recommend in terms of sterilisers etc? I've just got a couple of random bottles and u think someone's passed on a bottle warmer which is probably unnecessary, but I feel a bit reluctant to spend loads on a steriliser or kit thing if it turns out I can breastfeed and then don't need it. Is there a convincing argument for buying a kit or something and what have others got? I could add something to my wishlist but don't we'll actually be bought anything.

Pegase · 13/04/2020 12:42

My DD was 7lb15 and needed newborn for a while before she could go into 0-3.

Re: steriliser, depends if you are going to express even if bf. If so you will need a steriliser big enough to sterilise pump parts as well as bottles. I cold sterilised pump parts last time (big plastic container with Milton tablets) and microwave sterilised bottles.

Smiffette · 13/04/2020 12:58

@UnilakTea hello! Due date buddy! I'm 32 weeks today as well and expecting a baby girl!

Smiffette · 13/04/2020 13:01

@BabyBird20 I've just finished packing my baby bag for hospital, I've put 3 outfits in for baby. 2 x newborn and 1 0-3 months just in case.

I do need to sterilise my bottle
Just in case, I am hoping to breast feed though.

UKtoSK · 13/04/2020 13:35

I definitely recommend the positive birth digital course for anyone feeling anxious! You also get access to a private Facebook group where people share their positive birth stories, and I’ve seen a lot recently talking about their experiences giving birth with various covid restrictions and how they still ended up having a great experience. Very reassuring to read, and shows how the hypnobirthing techniques really help you to prepare for anything.

@APD1981 I’m the same as your mum lol stopped working in feb and naps have become an almost daily occurrence. Highly recommend to everyone.
