@LillianFullStop no childcare for ds currently which is starting to get a bit stressful. A friend has offered to have him but she's pregnant so feel bad taking her up on her offer. Hopefully things will be different in 4-6 weeks. Nursery will take him but thats obviously only helpful Monday to Friday!

Due 20th may with the latest I'll go to 26th because of the gestational diabetes

@pegase try superdrug. I managed to get everything there for a click and collect and didn't have to queue to get onto the website. They also have nipple cream for 99p!

MsMiaWallace · 11/04/2020 08:57

Deffo try Superdrug!
They've got good offers on & seem really good on click & collect.
I got my stuff from there.

MsMiaWallace · 11/04/2020 09:40

Anyone who has been for a scan the last week, out of interest was the sonographer all gowned & PPE'd up?

umabb · 11/04/2020 09:53

@MsMiaWallace hey I had one with NHS on Wednesday. Sonographer was wearing a mask that's all.

OP posts:
Ginfilledcats · 11/04/2020 10:41

I had 2 in the last 2 weeks, surgical masks, glasses, aprons and gloves.
Full PPE is not required unless less than 2 meters from a covid positive patient

Raindancer411 · 11/04/2020 10:46

Sainsbury's have maternity pads as did Superdrug (but in store)

Rinoa · 11/04/2020 11:15

You girls are brave going in to collect! I only get things delivered. I Haven't left the house in 4 weeks.

Pegase · 11/04/2020 12:39

Yeah I went to an outdoor food market and daily exercise walks but no shops- DH goes on his own now.

Could ask him to click and collect for me

UKtoSK · 11/04/2020 14:08

Anyone else suffering with tonsil stones? Definitely my weirdest (and most annoying) pregnancy symptom yet. I’ve had 3 come out in the past two months and there’s definitely another one now, I can taste it 🤢🤢

rainbow1982 · 11/04/2020 14:28

Hi. Ladies, I'm due the 6th of June, what do you think the corona situation will be by then? I've been staying really positive and don't generally 'sulk' or stress about things I can't control so I've just gone with it. Just the last 2 days though I've started to get very sad about baby not seeing anyone. My cousin has just had her baby and it's hit home how hard it just be. I've got exactly 8 weeks left, are we expected to have gone way past the peak by then?

mrssunshinexxx · 11/04/2020 14:33

@MsMiaWallace no the sonographer wasn't but my consultant was .. maybe not enough for al of them?

mrssunshinexxx · 11/04/2020 14:35

@rainbow1982 no one can say for sure but I for one am bracing myself for the next 4-6 weeks in lockdown as personally I would struggle mentally to think of it longer I do think there is a very strong chance things will be 'better' by June not normal but better and I also believe that lifting restrictions around births would be one of the first things they do x

mrssunshinexxx · 11/04/2020 14:36

@rainbow1982 I mean so birth partners can stay until your all discharged together not about family visiting etc but hopefully that can happen by then too x

Ginfilledcats · 11/04/2020 15:23

In the north west we're expecting it to peak the first week of May (I manage the A&E dept in my NHS), so not anticipating being being out of lockdown at all by June now sadly. I think perhaps back end of June somethings will start to relax a bit - I imagine you will be allowed to visit another household (providing everything is well) with only 1 family there (ie not big groups) being the initial thing, people going back to work where possible to socially distance, continued work from home for those who can't. If restaurants/pubs/cinemas reopen it will be 50% capacity initially. But again, these are just my thoughts based on absolutely nothing but wishful thinking!

I too am trying not to think of it too much as there's too many variables and unknowns.

On a different note: anyone have any recommendations for breast pads that I can order online?
When are people collecting/setting up cots and prams?
And when are you finishing for maternity leave. I think I calculated 28 working days left for me (full time)

X

mrssunshinexxx · 11/04/2020 16:17

@Ginfilledcats I got given some lansinoh and boots breast pads 3 packs so will use them I finish 6th may early due to the virus was meant to be working to 21st may so not much difference my pram has been here since 20 weeks and put cot up about a month ago I'm 30 weeks today x

Smiffette · 11/04/2020 17:33

@Ginfilledcats my last working day is the 15th May, I have 3 weeks A/L before my Mat Leave starts on my due date, 8th June.
I am counting down the last 5 weeks of work!
I also work for the NHS, not clinical, my role has been quite different for the lash few weeks in order to help with the current epidemic.

AndddddHerewegoagain · 11/04/2020 17:35

@Ginfilledcats i got my reusable breastpads from www.vertbaudet.co.uk/ at the same time as maternity/ feeding bras. They always have offers on so Google a discount code before ordering

Ive taken the bassinet part of the pushchair out the loft i just need to clean it up, cot is still in the loft, snuzpod still needs to be reassembled 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I did spend an hour clearing the bedroom for her today!

In my defence my first borns nursery looked amazing 6 weeks before he was due! I was meant to be starting maternity leave on the 24th April so had planned to sort the bedroom out then but now I've been saddled with my 3 year old and a key worker husband!

Ginfilledcats · 11/04/2020 17:43

@smiffette ah I'm due the 9th, but currently working up to May 21st - also not clinical, it's been quite stressful (obviously nowhere as bad as the front line staff) but glad to be working from home!

Hmm based of what you, @mrssunshinexxx and @andddddherewegoagain have said maybe I'll start getting bits out (all my big stuff is at my mums as I'm terribly superstitious but also don't want to not be prepared!!!) it's a fine balance to find haha.

I've just had a new look delivery that included some pjs for the hospital that are cute button ups, but the bottoms are shorts so might get some lose yoga pants too. Struggling to find a cheapish thin dressing gown though! Don't fancy taking my lovely white company fluffy monstrosity into a labour ward in June!!

How are you all feeling?

Mj2196 · 11/04/2020 17:43

@Ginfilledcats I’ve just ordered some lansinoh ones from John Lewis !
I was supposed to work up to 39 weeks, I’d of had to start when school closed as would have had no child care . But luckily I’ve been put on 80% pay till 14th may, then I will start my leave .
We collected our pram & car seat the day before lockdown it’s all still in the boxes. Pram will stay in the box till after baby comes, car seat will come out in a couple of weeks to fit&practice with the base. our snuzpod is coming on Tuesday & it will stay in the box till around 36 weeks . My storage cupboard looks like a parcel sorting warehouse 🙈

30+6

Ginfilledcats · 11/04/2020 17:48

Hmm I'll try the lanisoh ones too! Thanks!

Yeah I think we'll get car seat out first definitely! My husband is super intelligent but my god you should have seen him trying to get the car seat (maxincosi pebble) on the isofix in the shop. Honestly, brains for Britain but logic and common sense he hath none! So practise will be a good idea haha!

Snuzpod next I guess. I'm going to try and save washing all the bedding and clothes until I'm on mat leave (to give me something to do) though may wash one or two bits in case!

Smiffette · 11/04/2020 17:51

@Ginfilledcats ah yes I do have my travel systems, it's still boxed in the house we got it weeks ago checked it was all working then boxed back up.
Moses basket is here just need to wash all the blankets and bits for it.... find I'm doing everything I planned for my 3 weeks A/L now during the day as I'm working from home, so easy to pop a wash on in the morning and hang stuff out at lunch!

Mj2196 · 11/04/2020 17:57

@Ginfilledcats Omg we have the cybex& i was the same in the shop 😂🙈!! I felt like a child getting all flustered my dp thought it was hilarious .

I don’t have any clothes to wash so should probably get onto that next haha

Busylizzie85 · 11/04/2020 18:00

My travel system is at my mums so we'll have to collect that in next couple of weeks whatever happens!
We have a car seat here that I was given as a spare from a friend so need to start practising getting that in and out of the car.
We also need to assemble the next to me crib to see if it actually will fit next to the bed 🙈🤦🏻‍♀️
Other wise all the washing is done other some some blankets and the nursery is finished not that she'll need it for ages but it makes me feel good walking in there knowing it's done. 😊

32+1

AndddddHerewegoagain · 11/04/2020 18:07

Thats another job. Clearing out my car enough to fit in another car seat 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I swear before children i was an organised tidy person!

Gigitree · 11/04/2020 18:36

@Ginfilledcats I managed to get a lovely thin robe from Debenhams. They had a few like this:

www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_151010634246

I also saw some on next when I was looking previously
