Worrying a little about my sideways (transverse) baby now - I ought to be carrying low like most of you but baby is too comfy to turn! Apologies if I've already posted this - I've lost track. I've looked on spinningbabies.com and seen an inversion exercise I'll try daily now. Anyone have any experience or tips with transverse? I'm trying not to worry too much but thought it was weird the midwife casually mentioned it last week and then said nothing more. I like to be informed and looking things up seems like C-section if it doesn't turn. Just wondered what people's experiences have been with this (30 weeks on Wednesday).

BabyBird20 · 06/04/2020 19:52

Fab thanks @Babymaher will have a look to see if I can get a more padded one similar to that! Just feel mean putting him on a cheapy thin one!!

@NakeliP I think it's too soon to worry that he's not going to turn from conversations I've had with my midwife, when I went in on Sunday night he was head donn but my Wednesday he was sideways and then Friday he was head down again! She said they still have space to move about at this point so may not stay head down for a few more weeks yet! Fingers crossed your little one will turn but the midwife will reassure you if you are worried!! 😍

Rinoa · 06/04/2020 20:37

My baby belly has been low from the beginning, kind of explains why I feel so much pressure now (especially in the evenings), left is 18 weeks, right is 28.

I'm 31+3 now!

@Nakelipi my midwife says they don't need them to be turned until 34 weeks. I had a scan on Friday for RFM and mine was head up feet down, today at community midwife appt she's head down. I wouldn't worry yet!

BabyBird20 · 06/04/2020 21:22

Has everyone seen there's a baby event at Aldi? Some cute stuff available online! 😍

LillianFullStop · 06/04/2020 21:59

31+3 today and some symptoms coming back after a fairy symptomless free 2nd trimester. Breast pain and slight nausea. Must be another ramp up of hormones this week!

Bump feels low and big over here too - a lot of baby kicks and jabs - it's nice to feel him move around except for when I get a jab in the ribs!

Sleep is quite uncomfortable and I wake with sore hips but thankfully the insomnia hasn't come back!

31+3 💙

peetieswie · 07/04/2020 02:29

Insomnia suddenly back the last three nights for me. 😑 I guess I can't complain as Easter hols and working from home after that so I can just go to sleep till later in the morning

chocolate26 · 07/04/2020 09:37

Does anyone feel hot a lot now? I seem to be feeling hot and uncomfortable a lot! It's not even that warm outside at the moment, although it has warmed up quite a bit this week. I don't have a temperature I just feel like a radiator from the inside!

APD1981 · 07/04/2020 10:27

@chocolate26 for someone who's normally freezing, I am definitely now warmer. I take my temp everyday and my general basal temp has increased the more pregnant it get. Used be to be quite low at 35.5-35.8 and now it's usually 36-36.5. I'm enjoying not feeling so cold all the time!

As for bumps, I seem to be the only one whose bump is quite high. Most of my kicks and rolls happen under my ribs. I'm suffering with bad heartburn and breathlessness because of being so squashed. It's very hard to eat a normal portion of food now, too. Baby has been head down every time it's been checked so far so I expect it still is.

I've got my 31 week MW appt today. Not been told it's moving to a phone consultation but waiting for MW to call me to check I'm well beforehand etc. I also don't know how I can provide a urine sample because I don't think I can go to the surgery to get a bottle. I'm not keen on using the loo whilst I'm there, either, to be honest! Will see what the MW says when she calls.

ImJustWingingIt · 07/04/2020 10:40

Hi just wondering if I can join?
I’m due my 3rd on 18th June, Leanne

Cornishbumpkin · 07/04/2020 10:54

@APD1981 I'm with you on the high bump, can't eat/ drink a lot in one go without feeling sick. Little man has recently found my ribs to kick against too which isn't the most comfortable feeling! Baby has been head down so far Smile

Good luck with check up today, if your surgery is like mine they may not have had many people using the toilets due to no one waiting in the waiting room and reduced patient numbers coming in - therefore should be pretty clean.

Cornishbumpkin · 07/04/2020 10:56

Also welcome @ImJustWingingIt love your MN name - how I feel about the whole experience! How are you feeling? Congratulations on your pregnancy, do you know what your having?

APD1981 · 07/04/2020 10:58

@cornishbumpkin I'm glad it's not just me with a high bump and squashed tummy! I've just called the surgery. She said I can use their facilities when I get there which I'm not overly keen on so I'm going to nip down there now and pick a bottle up. They have an intercom system now so you can't just walk in. Hopefully someone will just come out and pass me what I need on a tray. It's only a 5 mins walk so a good excuse to get some fresh air!

Busylizzie85 · 07/04/2020 10:59

Had my 31 week appointment today with the midwife, no one was at the health centre I went straight in and sat upstairs for the midwife no doors to open at all. Midwife was fully gowned with mask, gloves, shield and apron thing. I felt very safe.
Mine gives me a cup and sample pot to take home with me each time so that I don't have to use the loos there.
Bump measured perfect for the number of weeks and heart beat was nice and strong 😊

31+4

UKtoSK · 07/04/2020 13:05

@APD1981 @Cornishbumpkin even with baby being low I still feel I can’t eat much in one go and get bad acid reflux sometimes. Between that and the constipation the third trimester is extremely glamorous so far 🤣

Still loving it all.

Gigitree · 07/04/2020 13:32

Hi everyone, just after your thoughts on this.
My little one normally has a pattern of having a quiet day here and there, normally then followed by a ‘busy’ day. On a quiet day I’ll feel her move a little bit throughout the day, but then the next day I’ll get lots of movements from her and some strong kicks.

She was very quiet on Sunday and again yesterday Through till now which worries me as this is not her normal pattern of then having a ‘busier’ day. I’m still feeling movement at different points throughout the day and some kicks lower down, so I don’t know if I need to be checked or not. They stress it’s about a ‘change in pattern’ which is what I would call this, but she is still moving about and I’m getting some kicks, so I don’t want to risk going to the hospital if I don’t need to.

Thanks

Gigitree · 07/04/2020 13:33

Oh and I’m 28+6

SearchingTheSkies · 07/04/2020 13:48

Hi @Gigitree I would definitely give them a ring as they will be able to advise whether or not you need to go in for monitoring. I recently had a hospital appointment and everything was really well organised to ensure social distancing etc. I felt safe. Hope you get reassurance soon.

Gigitree · 07/04/2020 13:55

Thanks @SearchingTheSkies
She’s now been kicking away for the last 10mins so now I’m even more confused!

Smiffette · 07/04/2020 14:07

I do have days where she's really quiet and I get a bit paranoid, but then she goes back to fidgety self 😊 I think it must just depend what position she is in as to how well I can feel her.

30+1

Smiffette · 07/04/2020 14:08

Sorry I'm 31+1 🙈 all these weeks are flying by!

Gigitree · 07/04/2020 14:24

@Smiffette I’m thinking that might be what’s happened here, she got herself in a different position so I couldn’t feel her as well.
She has been kicking and moving for the last 20mins or so, so I’m assuming she’s ok now. Just going to keep a close eye on things this afternoon and ring them if she goes quiet again

I think they just like to make us worry! As soon as I hit send on my message earlier she’s been wriggling away!

Busylizzie85 · 07/04/2020 14:25

@Gigitree similar thing happened to me Sunday, she was really quiet all morning till the afternoon when she must have moved or woken up and started being her usual self.
I think and I asked the midwife today about this my routine has changed a lot since lockdown so the baby's pattern as such is also changing it's not necessarily a bad thing as we must be all doing a lot less then if we were all still working etc and all our baby's are doing is adapting to us.
She just advised that if I was really worried always call her or the hospital for advice however.

SearchingTheSkies · 07/04/2020 14:32

@Gigitree Glad she's moving lots again. I've found it hard to know what to look for in terms of a pattern, but I'm trying to 'count' the number of busy episodes each day to get an idea of how many is typical.

Gigitree · 07/04/2020 14:36

Thanks @Busylizzie85 and @SearchingTheSkies they do like to make us panic don’t they?
Yeah if she hadn’t started moving just now I would deffo be calling them up as it did seem very unusual for her, but like you say our routines have changed and so will theirs. I’m guessing when they have a growth spurt this probably changes things too!
Trying to keep count is a good idea, my sister actually just said she used to find it helpful to write it down in the notes on her phone as sometimes I think they’re moving more than we recall.
