@Rinoa @chocolate26
Yeah I thought I read or my midwife said that it's 2 weeks either side.... so for 28 weeks you would measure 26-30cms
So I am only 1cm above that which made me feel ok and I guess it depends what next time comes out at as to whether I'll be concerned or not.

sarahlounich · 30/03/2020 18:10

Glad baby movements have gone back to what you're normally feeling. My little one has started poking a knee or elbow out and its shocked me a few times!! Not painful but uncomfortable for sure!

Have done a load of ordering of clothes/ mattresses/sheets in the last week which has started to arrive so feeling a bit more prepared.

Any of the second/third+ tome mums got a list of obscure items that maybe a first time mum wouldn't thing to get?!

I've got my 31 weeks appointment in Wednesday and haven't heard anything to say it's been cancelled...I don't want to give them an opportunity to cancel it so don't want to ring 😂 it's at my gp surgery ...shall I just turn up and hope it's all going ahead?!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 30/03/2020 18:20

@sarahlounich I've had a phone call the day before each time confirming i haven't got any symptoms so you might have that as well

mrssunshinexxx · 30/03/2020 18:35

@Rinoa no if you have fitted sheets that's fine then swaddle the baby then when the weather gets colder you will need a blanket too or sleeping bag as baby gets bigger x

Smiffette · 30/03/2020 19:18

Same, I've had a text / call before to say to wait in car until I'm called so I don't have to wait around in the surgery.

newbyxx · 30/03/2020 20:41

I wouldn't worry @chocolate26, I just had to go to triage as little mans movements were less, he's fine. She measured my bump and I'm measuring 33cm at 30 weeks and at my growth scan at 28weeks he was measuring big. They haven't said anything to me in triage about it being big so
I guess they're not worried x

@mrssunshinexxx thanks!

Morning All
Thought Id share my experience in case it helps someone. I had a liver function test after having palpatations around 22 weeks I think. The results were a but high so I had 2 further liver function tests in the following week. Each time the levels were higher, but all other liver bloods came back fine. My SIL read on a blog that Pregnacare can often be the culprit so I stopped taking it to see. At my 28 wk apt my liver funct came back reduced to 22 from 62 in 4 weeks.

Ive not bought anything yet for Bambino, just massive pants and nursing bras for me. But with this v strange situation we're in I feel the need to prepare. Luckily I have hand me downs so will send my H to collect over Easter. I'm trying to control my nervousness around the pos that My H won't be at the birth. That would just be so difficult for us both. He has not missed one apt and Ive had several extra ones. People have said that maybe we should refuse to not take the privilege away. But others have suggest I look for a private midwife in case a home birth is necessary. I'm 29+6 today so I'm praying that things calm down for us all. Sorry if I'm freaking you out now.

UKtoSK · 31/03/2020 06:27

@RPPs did you see the change.org petition I posted yesterday a page or two back? It might not do anything but worth having people sign it in case it does help. The governor of New York apparently overruled the New York hospitals decision to ban birth partners and declared that no woman will give birth alone and so hopefully the U.K. will make the same decision too. It just seems so unnecessary and cruel to ban partners from delivery.

mrssunshinexxx · 31/03/2020 07:16

Yes everyone needs to sign it I really think it will help I copied it and send to lots of friends that signed

Smiffette · 31/03/2020 09:21

I've signed it! As a FTM the thought of doing this alone is terrifying.

Send the link to family and friends if you can ladies xx

Rinoa · 31/03/2020 15:26

Don't u think they shouldn't be allowed though if they have symptoms?

umabb · 31/03/2020 15:50

@Rinoa that would be a completely different story. We still want people who try hard to squeeze a baby out to be safe ! 😂
I think the rule we are trying to fight is that some hospitals want to exercise social distance no matter what, which is nasty because of the huge emotional and physical support that we will actually need is way behind that. That's inhumane.

It also goes against the RCOG guidance that a single asymptotic Birth partner should be allowed to be present during labour.

At my hospital your birth partner is allowed to be there when you’re on the labour ward only. So not during any antenatal or postnatal care.

I don’t really get how the logistics of this will work, but at least they’re trying to strike a fair balance between birth partners being there and keeping everyone safe.

Blizy · 31/03/2020 16:05

Sorry for the tmi post! I'm really quite constipated and have piles 🙈 I have a bottle of movicol that's my ds's, does anyone know of the adult dosage?

Mj2196 · 31/03/2020 17:45

Those ladies who are ordering baby clothes online .. where are you finding them?! Asda Matalan& m&s nearly everything Newborn/0-3 seem to be sold out . I only want the basic vests & Sleepsuits as I have literally nothing but I’m struggling 😳

Mj2196 · 31/03/2020 17:48

@Blizy I think its 25ml in 100ml of water, you should start with one dose a day x

peetieswie · 31/03/2020 17:48

Spoke to midwife today as have to have my 28 week appointment moved as I've had a cough. I've also had some swelling of ankles and seen flashing lights and she said if I have that again I need to phone immediately. I've not been worried as baby has been very active.

However, now I'm starting to worry baby is too active. Baby seems to sometimes just have a mad flurry of movement that you can see and is almost like a fit, but it could just be enthusiastic kicking. Baby very often kicks very high, nearly at my boob height so is often kicking that area so may just be more noticeable. Anyone else had loads of activity? I was singing to it at the time so might have just been baby trying to get me to shut up. Baby kicks a lot each day. Any advice or should I just phone again? I hate ringing up and only have a message line to midwife unless I make an 'urgent' call.

Mj2196 · 31/03/2020 17:58

@peetieswie my little one is the same so strong. However they have always been like this so it’s my normal pattern . Is it normal for you or has it just started ? The leaflet my midwife gave me says any Sudden increase in movements should be reported just the same as reduction. Hope all is ok !

Pegase · 31/03/2020 18:00

@Mj2196 try John Lewis or JoJo. Tu by Sainsbury's has some newborn stuff.

Rinoa · 31/03/2020 18:07

@Mj2196 I got some basics from H&M

umabb · 31/03/2020 18:16

@Mj2196 John Lewis got plenty. Just ordered some more too.

@peetieswie I was awake last night because he couldn't stop kicking .. for a bit I was worried too if he was too active Confused
