@chocolate26 you guys are amazing with the nurseries! They look great ! We have a snuzpod (now in the guest bedroom will be in our room), a travel system and a chest of drawers (in the ironing room/ my wardrobe) , and that's all ...🤪

@umabb I feel sorry for boris too! And his fiancé, it must be really hard on them both. Fingers crossed he makes a full recovery and she hasn't caught it.

We are sorted in some ways but not in others! We really don't have enough clothes or muslins or things like that so we will be ordering some more soon. We have a fair bit in 0-3 months but only a few sleepsuits in newborn, how much newborn stuff do we need?

Rinoa · 27/03/2020 16:58

Lovely nursery @chocolate!

Here's some humor go make everyone smile

@Rinoa 😂😂😂 the pee sample is funny and true!! I hate walking around wondering where to put it.

Are you lot doing pelvic floor exercises? I haven't done any! I don't even know how to! I'm sure I could look it up and find out.

Rinoa · 27/03/2020 17:17

@chocolate26 yes definitely worth reading about it. It's basically the muscles you use when you hold your pee. There are Tightening and loosening excercises to make them stronger .

APD1981 · 27/03/2020 17:34

@chocolate26 there is an NHS app called 'Squeezy' which helps with pelvic floor exercises x

AndddddHerewegoagain · 27/03/2020 18:23

Some advice here for anyone who's been forced to take early maternity leave/ unpaid leave

Smiffette · 27/03/2020 18:33

@APD1981 I've downloaded that app, it is good for reminders but I can't say I always do them when I get the reminder 😬

@chocolate26 the nursery looks lovely!!
I. Order some more bits today so hopefully they will be here in the next 2-3 weeks so I can feel more ready. I can also start my hospital bag packing then too!

@chocolate26 that room looks so lovely and cosy!

I downloaded that Squeezy app too but only yesterday so haven’t used it so far. Saw it recommended in the positive birth company pack. Thank you again to whoever recommended it when it was on sale. I’ve been really enjoying the videos and even more excited for the birth now.

Glad everyone’s appointments today went well.

mrssunshinexxx · 27/03/2020 19:59

Next has now stopped online orders too :(

Firsttimerat35 · 27/03/2020 20:19

Hi all! Hope no one minds me tagging along😊 First time posting in a forum like this other than asking the odd question here and there but trying to get myself out there whilst in isolation! Hope everyone is keeping well and the C word isn't causing too much anxiety...although it would be impossible to be able to igore it completely.x

Rinoa · 27/03/2020 20:56

Oh crap @mrssunshinexxx just sad NEXT website! Ffs I really wanted some of the baby clothes from there. I can't be selfish I understand they need to be home too .

Blizy · 27/03/2020 21:13

Loving the nurseries. I think we are pretty much all set for the baby's arrival now.
Only need to buy a cot + mattress and pram. We do have a crib. We are not entirely desperate for a pram as I'm sure we won't be out for a
While after the birth! We will
Make a start on the nursery in the next few weeks, the room is currently a dumping ground🙈.

Just saw this about birth partners - RCM and RCOG recommend allowing them where possible

LillianFullStop · 27/03/2020 21:55

Welcome @Firsttimerat35!

Oh no @mrssunshinexxx - I best get my last minute things too just in case. I had bibs from my DD but a lot of them didn't survive weaning Confused

These nurseries are making me so 🥰🥰🥰

Sorry to hear about the GD @Andddddherewegoagain Thanks not long to go in terms of changes to diet and also might mean you get to meet the little one soon if they induce.

AndddddHerewegoagain · 27/03/2020 22:05

@LillianFullStop I'll be refusing induction. If this one hasn't appeared by 38 weeks it will be a c section. The main problem being we have noone to look after my first dc. My parents and in laws are in isolation, my sister is nhs so limited as to how much we can rely on her, so we literally have noone! Therefore I'd rather have a c section where it will be organised and controlled instead of being induced and 5 days later ending up with a c section anyway!
Just trying to accept that i wont have the relaxing birth i had planned!

Magpiefeather · 28/03/2020 05:47

Definitely do your pelvic floor exercises ladies! You will thank yourself. Mega important after the birth to do them religiously. Squeezy app is good, if you’re unsure how to do them have a google. I imagine a lift going up and try and zip up pelvic floor muscles...

Concentrate on pulling up the muscles

  • you use to stop a wee
  • you would use if you were trying to stop a tampon falling out
  • you would use to hold in the world’s smelliest fart
Firsttimerat35 · 28/03/2020 09:10

@chocolate26 we have got absolutely tonnes of stuff in 0-3m but probably only a couple of weeks worth of newborn. Also like you we need to stock up on muslins - i think we've got about 7! Was due to have a Next delivery today which included black out curtains for the nursery so we'll see if that arrives...I'm not sure how guilty I feel about ordering from anywhere now after reading about the Next and Amazon warehouses workers. Definitely read up about your pelvic floors!! Hope everyone still manages to have as relaxing births as possible despite the extra worries and stresses.

Mj2196 · 28/03/2020 09:19

This is probably the most selfish thing I’ve ever said .. but I actually cried buckets last night cause I asked my dp to pick me up some rich tea or digestives (when he got our milk&bread).. and the supermarket had none . at all . & to top it off all I want is a chicken tikka masala from our local Indian restaurant With a nice warm soft nan bread 😂🙈

newbyxx · 28/03/2020 09:26

Any mums that have had babies before..I have zero experience with bumps but I was just thinking mine looks quite low still? Does it or am I looking at it funny haha 30 weeks today! X

newbyxx · 28/03/2020 09:29

@Firsttimerat35 what about the warehouse workers? I ordered about 10 things off amazon yesterday including babies cot mattress and my hospital bag bits so I hope they're still delivering?
@Mj2196 haha you're not the only one I too was soo disappointed to learn that all the Chinese in my area were closed last night it ruined my evening and I went to bed early haha! X

Firsttimerat35 · 28/03/2020 09:41

@newbyxx just that they're so packed in and it's difficult for them to do social distancing so they're worried for themselves and their families. It's just a hard one morally I think. Part of me wants to sit in the Boots online queue with 50,000 people ahead of me so that I can try and order everything I need, and the other part of me thinks I should wait a few weeks and see what happens!! But I think the majority are still delivering.

Rinoa · 28/03/2020 10:21

@newbyxx still looks like mine I think. Do I feel it low? Baby definitely found his favourite spot quite low in my pelvis from the start!

Got a text this morning so say They moved my 30 week appointment to phone appointment. Surprised to get this in a Saturday! Bless them they must be working non stop. My next face to face will be 34 week appointment 😬 not sure if I can wait that long. I have this fear of the watery leakage I'm getting is not normal discharge. Its clear watery, no smell. But without a pad it soaks my knickers. It soaks the liner pad too, but it helps. I have to use like 4 of them in a day. Good thing is I still feel baby moving , that should be good right ? I think I'm gonna call the maternity helpline.

newbyxx · 28/03/2020 11:38

@Rinoa I had the watery dishcharge to at around 26 weeks I went to triage and had a swap test taken to see if I was leaking fluid...I wasn't it was thrush. I still get it now where it can soak my knickers but I'm not to worried anymore as still feel baby and they took a swap and it wasn't amniotic fluid. A lot of us on here have had the same I think so it seems like it's pretty common and normal
X

UKtoSK · 28/03/2020 13:08

@newbyxx also FTM here but my bump is still very low too. Had a scan today and baby’s head is right down the bottom and she’s all curled up so I barely feel any movements higher than my belly button. I do, however, feel lots of jabs to my cervix and bladder which is always fun 😣

Happy today because GTT came back normal, baby is growing fine, and I got a cute photo of her face. I think she looks like my husband and my husband thinks she looks like me lol. Can’t wait to see her in real life!
