@Gigitree I will seriously struggle with that. I'm having elcs and I'm terrified, my baby may have Down syndrome and I'm dealing with all the emotions of my first babies stillbirth. My psychology has been cancelled (I understand why) and I'm struggling.

Cornishbumpkin · 26/03/2020 21:27

It's heartbreaking for the ladies having their babies right now, try not to stress yourselves out though ladies, they will review it every week and by the time we get there it is more than likely it will have changed.

Had confirmation from my work today that I'm to stay home until I start my mat leave. I feel so guilty not going back at a time like this as I work in an emergency dept and they will need all the help they can get but the risk is just too high. Such a strange feeling knowing I won't be back to work till next April! Shock

peetieswie · 26/03/2020 21:44

Starting to feel a bit stressed about staying indoors for 12 weeks and my friend has been on at me about staying strong and healthy and hypnobirthing. I feel I have lots of time to research birth stuff but she's made me feel like I need to look into it now and that I should be eating better than I am. It hasn't helped I just watched a very stressful clostrophobic film 'the platform' on Netflix so that was a bit of a mistake.

Starting to miss my colleagues as a lot of them have young children and were good to talk to about things. Husband isn't particularly interested in kicking baby, baby items or birth stuff. Starting to feel this will drag on and although I'm glad I've got a long time to go yet, I'm anticipating getting more stressed too. Anyone else feeling the same?

AndddddHerewegoagain · 26/03/2020 22:19

@Cornishbumpkin i finished work today. Was very understated as i wasn't meant to finish until after Easter! Also couldn't get any presents as everywhere is closed. Ive literally been between my house and work for the past 2 weeks!

Hoping in 12 weeks it will be safe for me to go and visit everyone with the baby and get a chance to say a proper goodbye.

Also thank you for working on the front line but definitely look after yourself xx

AndddddHerewegoagain · 26/03/2020 22:20

Also the baby's mattress arrived today so if nothing else at least she will have somewhere to sleep!

AmyMaria2 · 27/03/2020 03:20

@newbyxx they wanted to induce me at 36 weeks because he's always measured well above average and now they know I have excess fluid, that could apparently affect function of placenta, but I had a telephone consultant appointment today, she said drowning on my growth scan Monday, and how much more fluid I have, they'd like to leave me to go natural if possible, so fingers are crossed for that!!! X

AmyMaria2 · 27/03/2020 03:21

Depending on growth scan * @newbyxx* sorry x

mrssunshinexxx · 27/03/2020 07:16

@Blizy that is incredibly tough in your shoes I would be ringing nearer the time (I think things will be better by June and antenatal will be back to normal) but if it isn't I really do think you have exceptional circumstances to have your husband. X

APD1981 · 27/03/2020 12:10

So BoJo has tested positive and his fiancee is pregnant. I think she's a few weeks behind us. It'll be interesting to see how she gets on. I hope she and her baby are OK.

UKtoSK · 27/03/2020 13:25

@APD1981 I was just coming here to say that. A lot of people who don’t like him are laughing about him catching it but I immediately thought about her being pregnant.

Have my GTT tomorrow morning and just had a late night (it’s 10:25pm here in Korea) bowl of porridge to tide me over but I’m still hungry already. Not looking forward to the morning. Got the drink in the fridge ready to drink an hour before my appointment so at least I don’t have to spend that time waiting around at the hospital.

umabb · 27/03/2020 13:30

Had my 28 week appointment at the antenatal department of the general hospital today ( the usual office at children's centre closed). Whole place is rather quiet - not many people around. Had usual urine test, blood pressure check and heart beet and all is normal. Had blood taken too. Apparently they've cancelled my 31 mw appointment so next will be mid May. Asked about birthing partners and antenatal classes (mine are in May). Currently they are allowing one birth partner but can stay the whole time. They've had to cancel one antenatal class so far but hope to arrange 1-2-1 sessions instead which would be great. Will see how it's like in May.

Had to shower 3 times already thought it's funny to share. Coming back home from hospital I showered. Haven't got hair dried, GP called and said they've booked me in for an ECG in 30mins (I had heart palpitation). Rushed out again did ECG which looked normal. Came back and showered and changed for the 3rd time. Got to do laundry now hehe.

I’ve just had my 28 week appointment too @umabb, mine was at the GP surgery though. I have to say, I was really impressed with the precautions they’re taking. I didn’t have to touch anything at all while I was there. There was a lady waiting to open the door and take my temperature (all gowned up with face mask etc), there was no one else in the waiting room, midwife all gowned and masked as well, she even opened the door for me on my way out so I didn’t have to touch the door handle.

Appointment all fine it’s always so nice to hear baby’s heartbeat isn’t it. She said bump is measuring fine and baby is lying transverse at the moment.

Hope everyone is well and keeping chipper Smile

Rinoa · 27/03/2020 14:07

I haven't gotten swollen ankles but I have had cold feet and legs! How weird, I think it might be circulation due to wfh now. Need to stand up more and walk around the garden !

Busylizzie85 · 27/03/2020 14:11

Currently waiting at the hospital as I got myself worked up worried if I am leaking fluid! Partner can't come in has to wait in the car outside. All really nice in here though. Just hate having to be by-myself.

chocolate26 · 27/03/2020 14:12

painted the baby's room yesterday and today! Exciting to put the furniture up now 😊

mrssunshinexxx · 27/03/2020 15:42

Had my28week midwife app this morning no protein at all in urine this time (was last time) really pleased about that, BP normal bump measuring perfect and baby is head down so all good x

chocolate26 · 27/03/2020 15:43

@newbyxx we got ours from John Lewis, it's a premium foam cot bed mattress and feels really nice and comfortable!

APD1981 · 27/03/2020 15:49

@busylizzie85 I'm sure everything is fine but good luck anyway. Let us know how you get on.

@chocolate26 looks lovely! We've pretty much finished the nursery this week but lots more little bits will be added once baby is here and we can personalise it more.

Congrats to all the good news on the 28 week appts. Good to hear all is well! X

AmyMaria2 · 27/03/2020 15:49

@Busylizzie85 let us know how you get on, I hope nothing is leaking!! Good luck XX

Busylizzie85 · 27/03/2020 16:00

Just on way back home! They monitored the baby for ages on a machine making sure she's ok. Once they were happy with they they examined me and said yes they could see I was wetter than normal but after a good look did not think I was leaking. They have taken a swap but said to use the thrush cream etc to see if that helps and if nothing changes or it gets worse to call them back as they can't rule out a small tear.
They were all very good I just hope that it sorts it self out in a few days and settles down.

chocolate26 · 27/03/2020 16:22

Glad everyone's 28 week appointments are going well! I've got mine on Monday so looking forward to that. @Busylizzie85 I'm glad everything is okay! I had to get checked on Wednesday as I had symptoms of preeclampsia but lucky it wasn't that! Just a horrible migraine and normal swelling starting to happen.

chocolate26 · 27/03/2020 16:24

Baby's room with some furniture in now, it's not finished yet, we are going to add to it as more bits turn up and gradually put its clothes away.

Feel sorry for BoJo. He has been working hard. It absolutely is an unprecedented situation and he's doing fine (well, since after the herd immunity rubbish and we could've started the lockdown a week earlier maybe). Won't be easy for the fiancée certainly :-/
