@Sunshinexx95 it sounds like what I had!!! Lots of hot water and lemon helps and just rest. I went to my mums for few days as I felt so awful, so tired!! Does your mum know your news yet?!
Awwww enjoy tomorrow.
You guys are so lucky!! My appt isn’t until next Tues!!

ShiningStarz · 25/02/2020 21:17

@ChipsAreLife we are both next week!! Feels like ages away!! Roll on the weekend!!

Roxy8203 · 25/02/2020 21:26

@ShiningStarz yeah I announced it yesterday after I knew all was going well. I'd told my parents at about 5 weeks but not many other people

ShiningStarz · 25/02/2020 21:58

Aww that’s fab @Roxy8203 so pleased for you

Roxy8203 · 25/02/2020 22:04

@ShiningStarz thank you

HugeAgeGap · 25/02/2020 22:29

Thanks @ShiningStarz @ChipsAreLife - hope it goes ok as this will be first scan I've had.

My parents and partners parents know so far. Was hoping to keep quiet from anyone else until 20w scan, but dunno if second baby bump will let me disguise it that long this time around! I'm deffo a reserved/quiet character so certainly won't be any big announcement! Just a few discreet conversations! xx

emma278 · 26/02/2020 07:23

Lots of love @HugeAgeGap x

Samk79 · 26/02/2020 08:03

Hello ladies,

Hope we are all doing okay? It's early to think about it but has anyone else started to think about returning to work?
I work for the nhs. I usually work 26 hours over 4 days but am currently doing a secondment working 34.5 hours over 5 days. I may have the opportunity to go for the secondment as a permanent post but not sure yet what the hours will be.
We will be reliant on childcare as we don't have family that can help so it will be expensive!
I'm getting paid a lot extra with the new job but conscious if I do more hours it will get swallowed up in childcare.
My husband is self employed so he could probably have the baby one day in a week
Any advice greatly appreciated! X

Lorna198 · 26/02/2020 08:10

It’s scan day. Which means it’s announce to everyone day. I can’t wait to stop the little white lies! Can’t wait for peoples comments. Pretty sure it won’t be expected!
Good luck to those with scams coming soon!

ShiningStarz · 26/02/2020 08:40

Enjoy today @HugeAgeGap and @lorna198 😊

HugeAgeGap · 26/02/2020 10:58

Hi girls, well there is one baby and a heartbeat but can't tell you anymore than that due to a tilted uterus and c-section scarring that the sonographer gave up and going back in another week to hope baby has grown a bit more to get a clearer view and do the checks xx

Sunshinexx95 · 26/02/2020 11:03

Hi everyone I just came back from the scan I'm so happy I could see the baby and it was smiling with his finger in the mouth! The midwife was very satisfied 😭 it made my day.

Omg @Sunshinexx95 I’m gushing for you 😭!! What a wonderful scan pic!! Love it!!

Wonderful news @HugeAgeGap 😊

Iv an 8 week scan pic, I can’t believe the difference between my 8 week and your 12 week @sunshinexx95 flip it’s all very real now!!

ShiningStarz · 26/02/2020 11:30

@Sunshinexx95 are you feeling better now?
I’m still bunged up!! A week yesterday! Hoping by the weekend I’m back to 100% 🤞🙏

HugeAgeGap · 26/02/2020 11:31

@Sunshinexx95 lush pic, so cute xxx

Lilice · 26/02/2020 13:57

@Sunshinexx95 what a cute picture

Lilice · 26/02/2020 13:58

Has anyone had a scan at 10 weeks? I had one at 8 and it was internal. I have another this week and wondering if it will be internal too (I'm 10 weeks).

Does anyone know?

Lilice · 26/02/2020 13:59

@ShiningStarz my 8 week scan picture looks like a hamster hahaha! Can't wait to the see the progress

ChipsAreLife · 26/02/2020 14:01

Congrats @hugeagegap and @Sunshinexx95! That's so lovely. You must be feeling on cloud nine 💕

@shininhstarz ahhh almost there! I have to wait till bloody Friday!

@samk79 my advice is not to make any decisions now, I know you need to think about it but you just don't know how you will feel, what sort of baby you'll get etc. I went back three full days after my first but had a long commute, a non sleeping baby and was expecting lol! Second time I went freelance and worked from four months in evenings. Childcare is a huge cost but it does get better at 3.

ShiningStarz · 26/02/2020 14:43

@lilice I think it depends on shape of the uterus and tummy fat. My 6 & 8 weeks scans were both tummy ones. Its exciting hearing about everyone else’s 12 week scans! I can’t wait now, just hope my wee one is doing ok in there.

Lazydaisydaydream · 26/02/2020 14:57

what's everyone doing about vitamins once they get to 12 weeks? I've just been taking folic acid and vitamin d, but if I remember correctly only need folic acid during the first trimester. Should I just switch to a general prenatal vitamin now?
Last time I took the well woman pregnancy ones the whole way through but can't really afford that this time haha.

HugeAgeGap · 26/02/2020 15:24

I'll probably stop the folic acid but continue the vitamin D until it's summery outside and I can get the sun naturally. Hoping to be able to have a better diet once the nausea goes. Vitamins in pill form are no where near as good as getting them naturally through the diet, so if the diet is good I wouldn't bother wasting the money on pills x

ShiningStarz · 26/02/2020 15:38

I’m taking the pregnacare pregnancy combined pack - multivitamin with omega oils tablet. I’m planning on asking the midwife next week what I should be taking going forwards..
when I was TTC I took the pregnacare conception once every other day, they are so expensive!! I feel your pain.

ShiningStarz · 26/02/2020 15:41

Oh and my gp prescribed 5mg folic acid which I’m also taking

Lorna198 · 26/02/2020 16:22

All well at the scan! Baby wasn’t playing ball though so back in 2 weeks for a scan for more measurements. As I’m an old mum (36 🙄😂) and I have a higher BMI they will keep a closer eye on me and I will be consultant led. Hopefully everything will continue well and it won’t cause too many problems!
