Hello everyone, I am so depressed right now. I have 3 wonderful boys but my heart desire is to have my princess. My last pregnancy was a twin pregnancy but sadly I lost the other twin and my gut feeling told me it was a girl. Few weeks ago I found out I was pregnant. According to my calculations should have been 8weeks yesterday Thursday but on Tuesday I started bleeding heavily with clots and everything. Went to early pregnancy unit, did the scan and I was told they can see an early pregnancy with the sac and yoke but no baby. So I've either overestimate and too early to see anything or I've lost the baby. Been asked to come back in two weeks for another scan. My gut is telling me the baby is gone and the only symptom I had was bigger breasts but all gone now and I had this weird taste in my mouth and all gone too...has anybody experienced this. How did you deal with this??? Any hope for me???? All comments will be appreciated....

Catconfusion · 27/03/2020 15:50

I’m so sorry @Mimi3G most of the ladies on here have had a missed mc and some had had other losses too. It is devastating and that limbo of waiting for the scan is excruciating. Is there any chance your dates are wrong? Thinking of you and sending you strength and love xx

Mimi3G · 27/03/2020 15:55

@catconfusion thank you so much....I have tried to recalculate as sometimes my dates can change....last year in two occasions I bled a whole month so am not sure...I just think I've lost the baby anyway....just the 2weeks wait is killing me...

Catconfusion · 27/03/2020 15:56

@Kiki061190 I’ve definitely noticed an increase in discharge. The midwife said it’s common as the hormones change. There’s a word for it but I can’t remember what it is.

So I just had my scan. I felt very safe at the hospital. Baby boy was sucking his thumb and is head down but on his left side. He’s got even bigger so now an estimated 9 pounds 10. Head is now off the charts. The fluid has increased a bit but doctor is happy with it. The Doppler scan showed a healthy placenta and cord. My dilemma is whether I try a sweep on Tuesday to see if it’ll spark something off or wait until next Sunday for my section. The doctor is happy with either. Might just see if the midwife can check for dilation and if something is starting try the sweep. If cervix closed wait for section 🤷🏼‍♀️. Relieved he’s ok but just want him here now! Xx

Catconfusion · 27/03/2020 16:01

@Mimi3G it is torture! Honestly the darkest time of my life. I had a mmc and then another early loss straight afterwards. I did get through it though eventually and was lucky enough to conceive the baby I’m having four months later. Life can change no matter how bad it is. I’ll never forget how traumatic it was though.

When did you get the positive test? That sometimes can help with figuring it out. Maybe your instincts are right. If so I’m really sorry. Would they not see you after a week to confirm? It seems a long time! Xx

Kiki061190 · 27/03/2020 16:09

@Catconfusion Amazing news that he is ready for you. He’ll be all chunky and cute 💓💓💓💓 it’s hard because isn’t there a slight risk with natural birth for you? Can’t believe you’ll have him next Sunday though if you don’t go naturally! Too exciting ☺️ It’s great you felt safe in the hospital with everything that is going on.

@Mimi3G Sorry to hear you are going through this. I also lost a twin pregnancy. I hope it isn’t a loss but just remember that if it is then there is hope on this thread as all of the ladies here have been through at least on loss. I’m 37+1 now after a loss last May.

Mimi3G · 27/03/2020 16:14

@Catconfusion not sure why two weeks.... the nurse said don't give up....I think it's because of the results....the results mentioned the bleed though....she asked if my periods are regular as soon as she saw the results....the sonographer said might be too early.....am so confused....I will not give up...I want my princess and I'll carry her. Thank you so much for your kindness...

Mimi3G · 27/03/2020 16:17

@Kiki061190 awww congratulations. No I will not give up.....I think it's a loss but am hopeful....I will keep trying. Thank you so much.

Catconfusion · 27/03/2020 17:03

@Mimi3G I’d be tempted to see if you can go back after a week. They’ll be able to see if any growth. Xx

@Kiki061190 natural birth is fine but going overdue is riskier if you’re over 40. There’s a slightly higher risk of stillbirth. Induction and c section were my options to prevent going over. The ideal situation would be a natural birth as risks and recovery are better. But slightly increased chance of needing instruments as he’s big. I didn’t like the sound of induction as it’s often more painful. We’re relieved it won’t be too long now however he comes! Xx

Kiki061190 · 28/03/2020 15:22

@Catconfusion Thankfully your section is next weekend so you know you’ll have baby boy in your arms soon! Only 8 days to go 💓 I think up here they’re trying to keep women in hospital for only one night max and send them home as long as there is no complications!

Catconfusion · 29/03/2020 10:34

Yes @Kiki061190 we’re definitely relieved. Also seems highly unlikely it’ll get cancelled which was my concern. Hoping to be home as soon as I can too if all is well. Still getting strong Braxton Hicks so you never know but feeling pretty immobile now so worried about the physical side of a labour.

Really hope you get some signs soon that things are progressing. You too @bananamonkey. I can’t believe we’re nearly all there! Xx

Kiki061190 · 29/03/2020 19:30

@Catconfusion I’ve only had some period cramp here and there. Nothing else! I’m so jealous you’ll have your baby in a week! I’m at the fed up stage and just want my little on out now 🤭

@bananamonkey How are you doing??

Catconfusion · 29/03/2020 20:01

I can imagine it’s tough not knowing when @kiki061190 but hopefully it’ll be on your baby’s terms and she’ll let you know when she’s ready to come. I really wish our baby could decide when he wants to be born. Hopefully not too long! Xx

Kiki061190 · 29/03/2020 21:02

@Catconfusion Awww I know she seems like she’s not wanting to budge any time soon. Little madam! I can’t wait to see her face!

Catconfusion · 30/03/2020 07:12

@Kiki061190 just remember it can all kick off very quickly! It might not be long at all. She’s at term now and everything is there that she needs for out here so she might just decide today’s the day. Xx

bananamonkey · 30/03/2020 07:48

Hi ladies! Not much happening here either, although I never got any signs last time and just woke up with contractions at 39+3. If it wasn’t all so stressful right now I’d be happy to wait again but would prefer it to happen sooner than later now, only 37 weeks today so still a couple of weeks to go probably.

Kiki061190 · 30/03/2020 08:16

@bananamonkey I’m the same, I don’t think I would be as impatient if this all wasn’t going on. It just seems like it’s going to get worse so I just want her here as soon as possible. 37 weeks! Happy full term to us all @Catconfusion we’ve all made it now. I keep getting some period type pains but no pattern and seems to come on during the middle of the night 🤷‍♀️

bananamonkey · 30/03/2020 10:06

Yes @Kiki061190 it would be different if things weren't so anxious and we could enjoy a nice relaxing few weeks of mat leave!

Cramps are a good sign your uterus is practicing so hopefully not long 🤞🏻

bananamonkey · 30/03/2020 10:09

Also I have developed some lovely red stretch marks in the last couple of days so could do without those getting any worse Confused

Catconfusion · 31/03/2020 10:46

Sorry to hear about the stretch marks @bananamonkey hopefully they won’t get worse since you’re near the end. It’s such a shame with all that’s going on we can’t just enjoy our final weeks!

So I have a dilemma. The midwife has cancelled our appointment today. She’s calling back later as they may be able to see me at another location. I’m not sure whether to go just to get baby’s HB checked. We’re not going to have the sweep now and c section Sunday so if reduced movements or labour starts before then we’ll just go to the hospital. I only had a scan on Friday and all good also normal BP and water sample. Not sure whether to ask for a phone consultation instead. But then if something’s changed I’d be annoyed at myself for not going. Xx

Kiki061190 · 31/03/2020 11:40

@bananamonkey Sorry about the stretch marks! I’m sure I have some but can’t see any clearly yet. Been using Bio Oil every day from 14 weeks so hopefully they’re not too bad.

@Catconfusion Happy Birth Week!!!!! Baby boy will be here this week which is crazy 💓 That’s annoying that they’ve cancelled your appointment. I have my 38 week one on Friday, so far no word on it being cancelled but there’s still time!

Amanda81 · 31/03/2020 12:01

Hey @Catconfusion - sorry the MW ahead cancelled. If they do offer another location might be worth going along to get the usual checks done (urine/BP). As you know mine went from being fine to not in a matter of a day, so no harm in getting them checked. Do you feel fine? It's very exciting! Xx

Catconfusion · 31/03/2020 12:25

Hey @Amanda81 yes I’m thinking I might go. I feel fine in myself. I’ve been monitoring bp and it’s on the low side at 100/60 which is what it was at hospital on Friday. As you say though things can change quickly and I’m sure it’s low risk for CV getting checked over. Baby is moving around so I assume he is ok. My only issue is my mobility which is quite limited now. The midwife centre id be going to is only ten minutes away. This morning I felt it maybe was unnecessary, now I think it can’t hurt and I’d kick myself if something was wrong and I hadn’t gone.

How are you getting on with Holly? How are things where you are? Xx

Amanda81 · 31/03/2020 13:16

Your BP is lovely and just where it needs to be and stay @Catconfusion and I am sure all will be prefect for Sunday delivery. I bet you are super excited! Do you have a time slot? Will you need to go to hospital the day before to carry out the checks and do all the paperwork? Or have they bypassed this with the current situation?

We are doing well. We are starting to introduce Holly to her big cot for daytime naps, which is going well. Looking forward to her mono (startle) reflex reducing, which it has since birth, but would make putting her down far easier once it's completely gone. She seems fine to be in her big cot but at the minute she is fighting sleep and only wants to sleep on me or DH. She is 15 weeks today. We take her out for a little walk each day and luckily where we live we may only see 1 other person, so feel fairly safe. Not a fan of going out out at the minute, we just feel so exposed. We have her 16 week injections next Tuesday, and will need to go to the GP office for this, which is the last place we want to be right now.

Catconfusion · 31/03/2020 14:08

@Amanda81 I’m really grateful my physiological signs are good. Yes it feels very meant to be. I get the occasional wobble where I wish he could have come naturally. All things considered: my age, big baby, my arthritis it seems for the best. It’s funny how the cramping I was having has gone. I wonder if psychologically I’ve accepted this is how he’ll be born.

We go in at 7am and then it’s In order of a list which is decided on the day. I’ve already signed consent but no doubt there will be more information on the day.

It sounds like Holly is doing so well. So good she’s getting used to her big cot and hopefully the reflux will settle. Also good you’re feeling safe. I can imagine the trip to the doctors is a worry. I feel similarly about the midwife. Even though it’s likely to be low risk, it’s still the thoughts of ‘what if!?’ Xx
