Jemima I was induced with my son. I started having contractions at 2, when they examined me about 3ish I was 8cm dilated!! It did take until 7 for me to then be fully dilated, but only half an hour of pushing and he was born!!

canadianmum · 30/08/2007 21:12

PLP - so sorry to hear about all the pain you are in, what a relief for you when lo is out!!

ECATLM - good luck!!! Go girl - just checked stats and says you are due 2/9 so possibly 3 days early - lucky you!!!

Norfolk bumpkin - hope your bp stabilises and you don't have any more funny turns.. Pregnancy is enough of a funny turn in itself!

hayley - glad to hear baby is fine after your fall, amazing how cushioned they are in there isn't it? - thank goodness!

mmoomar - I have always heard that it is best for baby to be on the left, but recently have heard that lots of them just wait until labour to shift around - they obviously like to keep us guessing .

Had my worst nights sleep EVER last night, DH snoring, both my boys were up for one reason or another and then I just could not get back to sleep. To top it all DH has his last big night out tonight so I had the full 12 hours of childcare today which was brutal!! DH is very sweetly calling hourly as he can't get a mobile signal in the pub and wants to make sure my waters haven't broken . I am about to go and fall into bed.

I so wish I knew at least which week this baby was coming so I could plan a bit. My mum is in Canada and wants to know when to come but I really want a week or so on our own with new baby before she comes, is that horribly selfish???

Hello everyone, sorry I can't really post much, I'm in the middle of the most horrendous cold and I feel awful... Just taken some paracetamol and going to bed but first I wanted to ask HIWBB a question. I see on the breech watch thread that you've decided not to go for ecv. If you don't mind me asking, what influenced your decision? I've got to make my mind up pretty sharpish (like tomorrow morning!) and I haven't been able to speak to anyone who'd be carrying out the proceedure, so I'm very much inclined to go straight for the cs option, but I'm feeling terribly guilty for not giving it a go. Maybe it's this damn cold filling my head with snot, but the thought of another proceedure that's risky and possibly painful fills me with dread. I know a cs isn't a walk in the park either. If I go for the cs I'd be offered a date either 14th or 17th sept, so just before my due date. Of course I'd welcome input from anyone else, I may have to read it tomorrow morning as my rheumy eyes can't quite focus any more

Night night everyone, sweet dreams

xx

just went for a thai meal - very yummy but know i will be paying for it at 3am. so anyone else who doesn't sleep anymore i'll probably be loitering in about 5 hours' time.

LoopyLouLisa · 30/08/2007 23:39

Hi everyone,

just popping in as it may be my last post for a while. haven't had chance to read todays posts it's just been so manic trying to get all the last minute things done. house is an absolute tip but at least all of the bottles are clean and will just need re-sterilising the day i come out.

had my pre-op appt today and all is going ahead tomorrow. i've put dal, kyala and chattyhan's numbers in my phone so will text with news as soon as i'm able to. only 8 hours to go til i go in. aaarrrggghhh! after wishing time would hurry up now i'm having wobbles about not being ready. typical.

oh well love to you all and hope you are all ok

LLL xx

TwitmonstEr · 31/08/2007 07:22

No sleep due to pains.

Got up at 4;30 did an online tesco shop,dd got up at 6;30.
Am feeling rather down now. I have never had a false alarm and now I keep getting them.
Its difficult because when I do go into labour, chances are it will be quick and I may not believe it until its too late for dp to be anywhere near home, too late for anyone to collect dd and too late for any m/w to turn up.
Ds2 took 45 mins ish, so I'm not entirely worrying about nothing. lol

However on the tesco online grocery site I saw they have tommee tippee sterilsers, breast pumps and bottles at HALF PRICE. So I indulged lol.

38 today. gggggggrrggrrrrrrrrrrgrggggrrrrr

FlossALump · 31/08/2007 07:34

Loopy, good luck. Hope to hear from you very soon! How exciting!

MrsMar, I'm sorry I am no help at all. I know nothing! Hope you managed to make a decision.

Twit, half price? Ohhh... I have a second hand breast pump which I feel a little odd about using, might nosey on over there now!

All very boring here. No signs of anything! Still have about 2hrs worth of walking to do today, to get DS to nursery and back so that may help! As long as I don't wuss out and start getting buses .

Hope all is well with everyone - ECATLM hasn't reappeared - fingers crossed things are progressing well for her.

TwitmonstEr · 31/08/2007 07:37

good luck to loopy and ECATLM !

I wouldn't mind if it wasn't going to get worse when the lo does get here lol

Anyhoo, how are you doing today, I wasn't expecting anyone else to be around for a bit, thats dc's for you I guess.

dal21 · 31/08/2007 08:26

Morning ladies!

for those of you suffering with sleep deprivation.

Morning Twit - I am 36 weeks today, and am sure in two weeks time will be right where you are!

I have texted Loopy this morning to wish her luck so as soon as Chatty or I have any news, one of us will let you all know!

MrsM - so sorry to hear you are full of cold, rest up lots and feel better soon. Re. the ECV, I think I have made the decision to trust my obs. If he feels comfortable trying to turn the baby, then I am going to let him have a go. He wont try if he thinks there is the smallest chance that it will cause distress to bub. Go with what feels right for you and please dont feel guilty. You really dont have to justify going straight for a CS - isnt it strange how all of us in the situation feel that way?? The most important thing is that you and baby come out the other end happy and healthy.

Hello to everyone else. Am on tenterhooks waiting for ECATLM news - no post for this long has to mean that it has happened/ is happening!

Anyways - have good days everyone, plan to spend today doing absolutely nothing! Cooking will recommence next week - have decided! Intend to sit around and watch dvd's and post on mnet all day!

MrsFish · 31/08/2007 08:33

Good Luck LoopLou will be waiting to hear the news

Well I went to bed at 10pm last night, in the following 8 hours I woke 5 times for the loo and heartburn. Then I woke up with a start at 6.30am and thought, Arrggg I've not put the bin out (and it is chocca) so threw on my tracky bottoms and flip flops and took it down (150 yards to the road) Got back in bed and the phone went at 7am, it was Argos Home delivery with the new sofa for the kitchen. They turned up 5 mins later never got dressed so quick in my life Great to get the delivery out of the way, but I hadn't made space in the kitchen for it yet, and dh is away now for 10 days. So at 7.15 I was re-arranging the kitchen and unpacking the sofa... how much packaging! Ds has started the day whining so its gonna be a long day am now totally knackered but have so much to do...

Hope everyone has a good day

TwitmonstEr · 31/08/2007 08:36

lol what a pair we are today.

Chattyhan · 31/08/2007 09:00

Morning!

Loopylou - hope all goes well for you tomorrow and we will eagerly anticipate some news!

Mrsfish - what a hectic day you've had already! I hope the rest is very restful.

MrsMar - sorry you're not feeling well. As for ECV my friend went for it and said even though she told them to stop half way through she felt she had tried!

Have a peaceful day everyone! I can't believe it's the last day of August! Tomorrow the school year fiasco will be over! So it's either today or they'll be 3 school yrs between DS and lo! The bizarre thing is my friend's 3 week old and my lo will be in different school yrs!

37+5

Hopeitwontbebig · 31/08/2007 09:07

Just a quick post this morning as it's DH's birthday, I have read everyone's posts, and hugs to those of you that need them.

Good luck to LoopyLou and ECATLM!!!

Kinki wants to send a message of love to everyone and to brag that she 'knows what it feels like to have a full bladder and do a big wee'

Lol @ kinki.... cow

Have a good day with dh

amyclaramum · 31/08/2007 09:33

Mrs Mar - don't know if this is too late for your ECV decision but FWIW i am glad I tried it as in a perfect world I would have preferred to have waited at home for a normal delivery rather than being in hospital, C section etc etc. But the best result is a safe delivery of a healthy baby so whichever way lo comes out doesn't really matter at the end of the day . Having experienced normal and c section deliveries now I can say that there are pros and cons for both and it really is your decision. Maybe deep down you feel your lo isn't going to turn anyway so you might as well plan the c section?Good luck anyway xx

EmLouT · 31/08/2007 09:42

Norfolk - sorry you had such a bad day yesterday - I know how you feel about doing the blood pressure dance - mine is up and I am retaining water and they keep talking about an induction. Am 38 weeks today and am cramming myself full with RLT, pineapple and curry to see if I can't get things started before they intervene!

I finally had a reasonable night's sleep last night and the builders aren't coming until later so I have the house to myself - bliss!. I am going out in a bit to have a facial and a massage and am very excited.

Hope everyone has a good day. No news from ECATLM yet. Very exciting!

Holly29 · 31/08/2007 09:55

MrsMar - sorry I wasn't around yesterday either, but if it's not too late for your ECV decision, I just wanted to say just do whatever you think is right for you. Giving birth is such a big deal - and it takes psyching up to prepare for I think. I'm in exactly the same boat as you (scan on Tuesday) and will have to make the decision about ECV then and the hardest thing for me has been adjusting to having prepared mentally for a natural delivery and now for a C section and I almost feel like I don't want to have to go back. I am pretty sure that if they say that my wee one is breech, then I will refuse ECV - I'm not sure I can go through all the worry again! So do whatever is right for you and bugger what everyone else says!

I should also say that I have written 2 birth plans, and that's what made me most determined that i actually wanted to know one way or another now.

EnormousChanges - best of luck! x

Norfolkbumpkin · 31/08/2007 10:18

Morning everyone, I had a much better night's sleep last night with no headache or nosebleed. Hands still a bit podgy 'though. I have had really horrid lower back pain since about 7am this morning and for the past hour that horrible dragging feeling at the bottom of my bump that I get when I have done too much. I have suffered with backache at all until a week ago when my bump dropped, and this is my first baby so really not sure if this is the sort of nasty pregnancy backache you get or whether things are getting going. Baby is still slowly writhing around as I write this so I know it is o.k. but from what I understand the baby slows down/stops moving when labour starts. Not sure if this is correct or not.

Rosie2404 · 31/08/2007 10:21

Hi all

Sorry havent had time yet to read through all the other messages but I hope everyone is doing well.

Im coming on to have a moan....bloody doctors!!!! I had appointment on Wed with consultant and he was horrible - I am really suffering badly with SPD - am in so much pain some days can barely walk which is really hard with 2yr old and 18 month old. Doctor just said you will have to put up with it!!! What a *£%$%&%$ Id like to give it to him and let him see what it feels like!! Also when I had growth scan done she said babys head was so low she could not get a measurement so that is putting more pressure on my poor bones. I would be doing everything I could to get this baby out (curry, pineapple etc) but hubby has decided to rip the bathroom out and replace it so at the moment I have no bath or sink in the bathroom - men eh?????

Sorry to come on moaning but feel much better now having got all that out.
