Hey! Just wanted to start up a thread because I couldn’t find another one, just got my BFP today after about 6 months of trying. Due date is 1st august! Still feeling nervous as I’ve had 2 miscarriages in the past but both before 6 weeks, so ill be keeping my fingers crossed and wont let myself get too excited until that deadline has passed!

Hope to hear from other ladies due at the same time, and hear your BFP stories :) xx

Ahhh lovely @Sjacey!

PandaPink · 06/12/2019 10:40

It's interesting how it works differently everywhere. I have no contact until my booking in appt, unless I phone the early pregnancy unit for a reassurance scan as you are entitled to one of you've had previous miscarriage. GPs don't see pregnant women unless they really have to or its quite a complex case. You phone up my surgery and they signpost you to the early pregnancy midwife service.

Officially 5 weeks today and have decided not to go to my Xmas night out tonight. I feel like such a Scrooge but I honestly am not feeling in the mood. It's a free bar too which is just a kick in the teeth but don't get me wrong I am so pleased to be expecting!! Everyone will be drunk and it'll irritate me and then nosy people will be like oh you're not drinking and start speculating which irritates me even more! Please tell me I'm not alone it's getting me down being a bit bah humbug!

Sjacey · 06/12/2019 10:59

@Pandapink in my doctors you can call at 8am for an emergency appointment, I have been taking the antibiotic lymecycline for two years due to suffering with acne which came on overnight! But your actually not suppose to take this in pregnancy or even when trying as apparently there is a risk to the baby’s skeletal development so that is how I’ve gotten an emergency appointment today. I wasn’t trying to get pregnant but me and my partner are really happy we have hence why I never stopped taking the antibiotics. If I had booked a routine doctors appointment the next one wasn’t untill 27th December which i think isnt soon enough!.

I completely understand why your staying home I love to get drunk (when I’m not pregnant) but being around drunk people when your sober is by far one of the most irritating things I can think of! You’ll probably only go and want to leave half an hour after you arrive lol so might aswell save yourself the Journey and the time getting ready ! Xx

LucyC2019 · 06/12/2019 11:03

@pandapink I'm not going on my christmas do either... it's the 20th December.... I've just about got away with one night out with my lot without drinking... I wouldn't get away with a second... so already decided the only way out of it is some kind of "sickness" might tell them I've got a little bug... which isnt strickly lying 😂.

I definitely know I'm pregnant today.... got the day off work for Christmas shopping but thought I'd have a slow start.... just balled my eyes out because the woman won on The Price Is Right 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ ffs. Xx

PandaPink · 06/12/2019 11:08

@LucyC2019 hahaha the price is right remember that programme?

@Sjacey it is funny how it all works differently. I won't have contact until my booking with midwife on 6th Jan. The GP can't offer me anything better except 5mg of folic acid which I've just phoned up and requested because of my BMI of 35.9.

Sjacey · 06/12/2019 11:10

Yeah it is annoying, I know my doctors offers a dating scan if you tell them that you don’t remember When your last period Was and not sure how far gone you are ! Lol just an idea xx

Frazzlerock · 06/12/2019 11:11

Yes you're best to stay away from the Xmas parties. As I said, you don't want to be outed like my colleague did with me Angry

Frazzlerock · 06/12/2019 11:15

@PandaPink can you not get 5mg folic acid off the shelf?

PandaPink · 06/12/2019 11:46

@frazzlerock I think it's really bad when people try and out you they don't know what you are going through. It's not like you just get pregnant and then bam! Baby just like that.

I have tried everywhere for 5mg but can't get it not even holland and Barret's x

Frazzlerock · 06/12/2019 11:50

How weird! Hopefully you can get it from GP!

ChelseaaBun · 06/12/2019 11:52

Hi everyone! I got my BFP on Monday, still really early - 4w1d due approx. 13 Aug. I had a MC in August at 9 weeks (after hearing the heartbeat in an early scan) which was really awful but am trying to keep positive and remember this is a completely different pregnancy. These first 12 weeks are just the worst aren't they! I'm very tempted to go for an early scan, think I'll try book one for after Christmas. Congratulations to everyone! 💐

fiesta · 06/12/2019 11:59

Congrats to you all ladies. Just got my BFP two days ago. Due date should be 12 August. So excited as this is my second but all feeling a bit sad for my daughter who is only 3

glitterbomb234 · 06/12/2019 12:05

Still waiting after a week for midwife to call to make booking appointment. Have rang surgery twice and they just say that they don't know when the midwife is working! I know I'm only 5.5weeks but have read should have this by 10 weeks for certain scans. Feels like they have forgotten about me as I have questions about medication and had some spotting I wanted to mention.

plantmum · 06/12/2019 12:06

Just had my booking appointment pushed back from 23 Dec to 2 Jan. It was a text confirmation so not sure why. It means I'll be 9+2 rather than 7+6.
Not a big deal and I can make the appointment but I'm disappointed I'll have to wait longer till I get a date for my scan :(

Sjacey · 06/12/2019 13:06

Just seen the doctor this morning they gave me prescription for 5mg folic acid and a letter with a booking ref number to call the hospital and book an appointment with midwife I get home call them and they say that I can’t book because the doctor has just cancelled that booking a did a new one due to a mistake with the referral so I now have to call back Monday morning for the new reference number ! Angry so annoyed, he was a stand in doctor I’ve never seen before and I just knew something would go wrong Hmm. Seems like their all very laidback about our pregnancy’s except us ! Lol x

Sjacey · 06/12/2019 13:09

@ChelseaaBun Congrats! you are about the same as me ! I’ve calculated my due date at 14th August Smile. My sister had three miscarriages one was a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks she then went on to have two children who are now 9 and 11 ! I know it is a knock back but like you said every pregnancy is different so stay positive ! And I hope everything goes well xx

sezzywoowoo21 · 06/12/2019 13:52

Hay all just had early scan 5weeks today showing a sac but no baby so have to go back in 10days for another scan see if little bean shows it self..feeling a little down but hopefully it's cos I'm still early Crown Sad

Sjacey · 06/12/2019 14:15

@sezzywoowoo21 please try not to worry as it is perfectly NORMAL to only see a sac at 5 weeks sometimes even 6 weeks! I think if you did see anything more it would be a miracle! Sending hugs. Xx

sezzywoowoo21 · 06/12/2019 14:32

@sjacey thank you for messaging I'm just guna have a relaxin few days till next scan n fingers crossed...yes ano what u mean it's still so early Xx

Frazzlerock · 06/12/2019 14:52

@sezzywoowoo21 agree with @Sjacey, 5 weeks is very early. I am 5 weeks today and not having my first scan until 7 weeks as it's not worth the worry before then!

Jojo19834 · 06/12/2019 15:15

I’ve just got my booking in appt for 9th Jan, I’ll be 10+1 then which seems so far away. What should be done prior to this as people say there are tests? Christmas getting in the way!

@sezzywoowoo21 I panicked until I saw you were 5 weeks, crazy lady! Hope all is well and you were just massively early for the scan (which is totally it!)

Frazzlerock · 06/12/2019 15:46

@Jojo19834 I think the only thing we all need at this time of year is a flu jab. I was given one when I was pregnant last year. Otherwise there are no other tests before you have your 12 week scan I don't think. When you see the midwife for the first time she will just run through all yours and your partners family medical history. It's all very boring Grin but a nice milestone all the same.

Slight worry is starting to kick in a bit today. I keep thinking we can't possibly be unlucky enough to lose a 4th baby, but then I know people do lose sometimes 10 or more before they get their rainbow don't they Sad But then I also know people who have only had one MC and then had a successful pregnancy so there's no reason why I can't have a successful one after 3.
I wish we could all have a crystal ball...

NamiSwan · 06/12/2019 15:50

Hi everyone and welcome to the newbies on the thread!

5+4 today and nausea has suddenly kicked in 😭 I've had it with both my other pregnancies so no idea why I even entertained the idea I would be lucky this time!!

Re: early scans, I would say if it will put your mind at rest then do it. I suggested to my DH that we have an early scan at 8 weeks (the Monday before Xmas) before we tell family at Xmas but he wasn't keen and I'm not that desperate to so probably won't. He also asked me how many pregnancy tests I'd done so far and I had to admit I'd done 5 already 😂🙊 since I got my 3+ weeks on the clear blue digital earlier this week I have stopped with the testing, am now quite confident I am actually pregnant 😂 nausea today has made it feel real!

Don't have my booking in appointment till January now, and scan sometime in Feb I guess. Will probably tell family and close friends around Xmas time when I see them. We've always told people earlier than the 12 week mark because both me and DH wouldn't want to go through a loss without those close to us knowing.

MrsC105 · 06/12/2019 16:27

I've just had some brown spotting 😭 I'm so worried now!

Jojo19834 · 06/12/2019 16:29

@Frazzlerock please don’t think negatively, I can imagine your panic bug think positive thoughts to help the little one on their way. I’ve been watching a lot of comdies as I think having happy hormones roaming my body has got to be better than sad ones. Silly but I don’t care :-)

Thanks also for the info re appointment, I’ll speak to someone about getting my flu jab done
