Hey! Just wanted to start up a thread because I couldn’t find another one, just got my BFP today after about 6 months of trying. Due date is 1st august! Still feeling nervous as I’ve had 2 miscarriages in the past but both before 6 weeks, so ill be keeping my fingers crossed and wont let myself get too excited until that deadline has passed!

Hope to hear from other ladies due at the same time, and hear your BFP stories :) xx

Help. Im planning on booking in for an early scan. But the whole number of weeks pregnant thing is confusing my brain about when to schedule it for! So my LMP was 09.11.19 have have BFPs on tests getting stonger since 02.12.19 (although technically AF isn't due until tomorrow) so I know it's still really early days! - putting those dates into the EDD calculators put me at '3 weeks' pregnant but I know that technically your not actually pregnant for the 1st 2 weeks when calculated that way. So when they say early scans from 6w do they calculate it the same way?

Can anyone advise about what dates I could be potentially booking an early scan for?

Frazzlerock · 05/12/2019 13:22

@Talcott2007 you need to time it from the first day of your last period (if you have normal cycles). That is what you should go by for booking your early scans. Your 12 week scan will confirm your actual EDD

Frazzlerock · 05/12/2019 13:24

If your periods are very long, then time it from two weeks before ovulation (obvs if you know when that was!)

Frazzlerock · 05/12/2019 13:24

Sorry, CYCLES not periods

Jojo19834 · 05/12/2019 13:35

@MaisieMolly my clinic were happy to scan me 6+3 but not so at 6+1 as they said there’s a risk the heartbeat won’t be detected then I’d need another scan, so I would push later end of the 6 week mark to be in safe-side

Talcott2007 · 05/12/2019 14:53

@Frazzlerock Thank you. That makes sense. LMP was 09.11.19, Cycles are 28/29 days and think I ovulated on 22.11.19. Realistically its probably a bit soon to try and do anything before Xmas - plus we are then away until the new year visiting family. I Think our best bet is to book something on 11.01.20 as DD has an activity for a couple of hours that morning so DH and I wont need to take her or worry about childcare (no local family) which I think would make us around 8-9wks

Firstmummytobe · 05/12/2019 17:54

Yes that’s exactly right! If your cycles are 28 and regular then that’s about right, congratulations!!! I would recommend waiting until January for a scan because at 8-9 weeks the scan is a lot better and the baby is visible with a heartbeat at 7-7.5 weeks, so more piece of mind also.

@Talcott2007 💘💘

LanieM87 · 05/12/2019 20:43

I'm really tempted to book an early scan 🤔 earliest I could do because of work and availability is the 27.12 I'd be over 8weeks at that point. Hmmm!

Tink12345 · 05/12/2019 21:34

I've been looking at an early scan. £70 for the local company. Would be cheaper in the long run than keep taking tests!! Did a ClearBlue date one today. Got 2-3 weeks Smile

Moominmiss · 05/12/2019 21:36

I’ve just booked an early reassurance scan for Christmas Eve. I should be around 8+1. I’m excited and terrified at the same time. Been having cramping on and off today but nothing too painful. Still getting very strong dark lines on tests so I’m hoping for the best 🤞🏻

Moominmiss · 05/12/2019 21:38

@Tink12345 the one I just booked was £70 too. And same, I just figure it might save me keep wasting money on tests!

LucyC2019 · 05/12/2019 21:51

I'm considering the early scan too. But going to see when the midwife suggests seeing me first. I'll be 8 weeks on boxing day.... so was thinking the week before at 7 - 7+1 would be okay.

The DH thinks I've lost the plot... came home tonight and did another clear blue.... some 9 days after the original positive.... because I needed a test that had it in black and white.... and there is was.... pregnant.... I might start to believe it now... hehe

Hope everyone is doing well today xx

ladyofearlybedtimes · 05/12/2019 22:15

I'm six weeks tomorrow and sickness and exhaustion have really kicked in now. I've booked an early scan for two weeks time, so I'll be eight weeks. I'm so grumpy and emotional too. I'm also keep getting cramps, is anyone else?

MrsC105 · 05/12/2019 22:32

@ladyofearlybedtimes I keep getting cramps too! And I'm so bloated!!

Sjacey · 05/12/2019 23:02

I’m also getting cramps started around midnight lastnight for 15 minutes or so and then today I had a really sharp pain very low down just once or twice and had some mild cramps tonight. My period should be due tomorrow so I’m really anxious about it and hoping it doesn’t show as I’ve done 4 pregnancy tests this week and they are all positives doesn’t stop the endless worrying though! Although does make me feel abit better that everyone else is also getting cramps so maybe this is normal xx

Anyone due August 2020?
Tink12345 · 06/12/2019 03:07

Anyone else not sleeping well?
When can I stop worrying about a CP?

A million thoughts swirling round. 12 weeks seems a lifetime away!

Jojo19834 · 06/12/2019 04:40

@Tink12345 I’m waking at 4.30ish each day atm so I’m getting less sleep than I normally do even tho I’m falling asleep earlier

I’m relatively symptom free atm which I should enjoy but do wish I had something. Been reading the July thread as they are a month ahead and a few said they lost symptoms around this point too so bit calmer about it!

CP risk is until 5 weeks I think. I was using clear blue weeks to check I’m increasing but apparently notoriously inaccurate so I have stopped. Now I’m just going to wait

Rara87 · 06/12/2019 07:02

Hey Ladies, haven’t been in here for a while so I’ve just been reading the last few days of posts! Lovely to see more and more bfps 💜

@Frazzlerock that’s a lovely poster, I will definitely go back to that when I have anxious moments. But like you, I’m feeling really positive about things 😊 I’m 5+4 weeks now.

Had similar symptoms to most on here, tiredness, peeing all the time, sore boobs, nausea. Cramps of eased off now but they were really strong with some spotting at the beginning of the week.

@Lucylou22039 can’t belive your work colleague said that! What an absolute bitch! I wouldn’t be able to refrain from telling her to eff herself 🤣

My work party was last night too but I couldn’t be bothered with it. I’ve just being generally saying to people that I’m on a health kick and need to lose a bit of weight- whether or not they belive me is another thing!

Moominmiss · 06/12/2019 07:11

@LucyC2019 I think our dates must be very similar.
I phoned the midwife to book in and she wanted to see me at 8 weeks And only works wednesdays but that works out to be Christmas Day. So I’d be 8 weeks on Monday 23rd and 8+2 on Christmas Day. So the following Wednesday would be New Year’s Day so also not an option so she’s booked me in to see her the week before Christmas on 18th when I’ll be 7+2.

CrazyCoonz · 06/12/2019 08:15

I'm 4w6d and tests still showing strong positive so feeling confident this isn't a CP.

Struggling with the disturbed sleep. Crazy dreams! Otherwise feeling pretty good so far.

Macbless · 06/12/2019 08:18

@Moominmiss @LucyC2019 we must all be very similar. I'm 8+2 on Christmas Day. At the GP I am registered with you have to see a GP before they will refer to the midwife. Then when I saw her this week she said they only do the referral once you get to 8 weeks - 23rd December. So I've got to call back on 23rd to confirm that I'm still pregnant. The midwife only works on a Thursday at the practice so I've just accepted that I'm not going to see her until into the new year. Hope it doesn't delay getting the 12week scan.
So weird how different it is in different places!

LanieM87 · 06/12/2019 08:19

I slept almost 11 hours last night and I've still woken up exhausted!

I'm supposed to be going to Christmas markets this weekend, I've no idea how I'll cope with the all the walking and shortage of loos!

LanieM87 · 06/12/2019 08:20

@Moominmiss @Macbless @LucyC2019 I'll be 8+1 on Christmas Day. We are all very similar!

Frazzlerock · 06/12/2019 08:51

Morning all

I think to those who are tempted to book an early scan, you should just do it, otherwise you'll drive yourselves mad. I still think you should at least wait until 7 weeks or just before though if you manage to wait until then. As I've said before, check Groupon for deals, there's always something on there for scans. Sounds dodgy, but its fine.

@Sjacey I hope that all is okay for you. Those tests look good. Were they taken yesterday morning? It's such a worrying time, but hopefully those cramps are stretching pains. Keep us updated x

@Tink12345 I'm also waking through the night, its that poxy pregnancy insomnia! I've had it for all of my pregnancies. Also, like @CrazyCoonz , I'm having very vivid dreams which started about a week before I found out I was preg.

@Jojo19834 I think symptoms are a weird one. This is my 6th pregnancy and I have different symptoms than any of my others. Never had sore boobs this early on (but they are practically engorged right now), and I don't have the usual extreme thirst and weeing all the time (I'm slightly more thirsty but nothing like before). I always have horrible metal mouth too and not got that this time either. So I wouldn't worry about lack of symptoms. I'm sure they will come with a vengeance soon enough!

Well I had my work christmas party last night. It was in Waterloo and right next door to the premier of Jumanji so we had a peek over the red carpet (where the venue was it was raised so you could look from above if that makes sense) and we saw The Rock, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart. I'm not a fan of theirs but it was quite fun to see them.

The evening was nice but one of the guys on our sales team was outing me! He was trying to pour me some champagne and I was like "No thanks, I'm driving home from the station" and he said "oh... really... driving home from the station are we...???" and he kept winding me up saying have I got something to tell everyone. I stuck by my driving excuse but he kept going on about it! Then when we all 'cheersed' eachother, he said to me "congratulations on your drive home Frazzle...." Hmm I'm clearly a CRAP liar!!

Sjacey · 06/12/2019 09:42

@frazzlerock thank you, you too xx I took the first one 5 days before my period was due the second one was taken 4 days before and the third one 4 days before aswell, my period was due today theres no sign of it and I’ve just got another positive test this morning so I’ve booked a doctors appointment For 11am this morning to get the ball rolling. Fingers crossed everything goes well for everyone x
