Hey! Just wanted to start up a thread because I couldn’t find another one, just got my BFP today after about 6 months of trying. Due date is 1st august! Still feeling nervous as I’ve had 2 miscarriages in the past but both before 6 weeks, so ill be keeping my fingers crossed and wont let myself get too excited until that deadline has passed!

Hope to hear from other ladies due at the same time, and hear your BFP stories :) xx

@francis05 I wanted to reply to you as I also stopped taking the Rigevidon pill at the start of September. Had my usual 4 day withdrawal bleed then started trying.
My first cycle was super long, like nearly 35 days before I got af so during that wait I took tons of tests in the hope I’d get a bfp. But only got negatives. Then my cycle seemed to go back to normal. My latest period started 28th October and I believe I ovulated either 12th/13th November. I then got my first faint bfp on 25th November 12 or 13dpo. I used eBay ic to test to start with as I’d bought tons, and then after getting positives in the morning and in the evening with diluted urine I finally used a frer and got a good strong positive on that too, 2 days before my af was due. I then used a clear blue digi when I was officially 2 days late and got 2-3 weeks. I’m still addicted to poas mainly because I still have loads of tests left (the internet cheapie ones), and it’s amazing now doing one in the evening after drinking loads of water all day but still seeing the second line come up so fast, even before the control line comes up!
I phoned my gp to book in with the midwife, she normally sees you at 8 weeks and only does Wednesday appointments but seeing as the week I’m 8 weeks the Wednesday is Christmas Day and then the following week is New Year’s Day, she’s booked me in slightly earlier and I see her on 18th when I should be 7+2.
My symptoms now are all day nausea, sore boobs, and feeling so tired I could sleep til new year!

Has anyone else here that’s of the ‘older’ ones of us, considered paying privately for the NIPT test/scan? Being above 35 I can’t stop myself googling all the risks etc and how everything increases in risk past 35 etc.
Or has anyone paid for this in the past? It’s not cheap (£400+). So will have a chat with the midwife and see what she thinks.

Congratulations everybody Smile

I tested positive last weekend and can't really believe it as it's our first attempt for our first baby. I then did a digital test today which showed 2-3 weeks (not using FMU, I'm on nights and don't really sleep enough for that to count at any time of day!)

Now I know I need to book a doctor's appointment but I'm so scared that this is all too good to be true and it will be a chemical so am putting it off. Maybe it's just my hormones making me more anxious! Cycle length is usually around 31 days (give or take 2) and LMP on 1st November, I'm about 4 weeks + 4 I guess.. when can I stop worrying and just go?! Blush

I hope it's a happy and uneventful nine months for us all!

Frazzlerock · 04/12/2019 14:34

@Moominmiss is that the Harmony test? We had planned to do that with all three of our losses (actually had it booked in for the first one a week after she died) so I imagine we will do it for this one.

Hi @partypenguins Its hard to take in isn't it. Quite overwhelming!

Sjacey · 04/12/2019 14:42

Hi and congrats! @partypenguins My cycles are also 31 days although some months 30 days, my LMP was november 5th and i feel exactly the same about booking a doctors appointment, i keep worrying that it is just a chemical too :( i dont know when the worry stops but knowing me i'm sure once that worrys over a new one will quickly take its place ! lol.

partypenguins · 04/12/2019 14:50

@Frazzlerock very overwhelming! I wonder if it will ever sink in?!

@Sjacey congratulations to you too! 100% agree, I told my husband I would stop worrying so much when I hit 5 with no period showing but if this sticks I'm sure it's fear right up until delivery (and then a lifetime of a whole other kind of worries) Grin

Moominmiss · 04/12/2019 15:05

@Frazzlerock yes, the harmony test. A lot of places near me advertise it as the NIPT (non invasive prenatal test).

I’m not sure whether to wait until I’ve had the usual 12 week scan and results from that along with the combined blood results, or whether to just book it anyway. It states that while it can give an indication of whether your baby is high risk for certain disorders it cannot state whether it will categorically have it and that cvs or amino would still be required to determine for definite.
So I’m not sure whether it’s genuinely worth the extra cost.

Firstmummytobe · 04/12/2019 15:24

@moominmiss Omg!!! We have ovulated and conceived on the exact same date, because I will be 7 +2 on the 18th of December too!!!! Date of LMP is the 25th of October but I believe I ovulated around the 11th or 12th, and scan dates show I’ll be the exact same date as you how exciting!!!

Moominmiss · 04/12/2019 15:42

@Firstmummytobe how exciting!
Obviously I haven’t had my dates confirmed by a scan like you have, having just worked it out, I’m apparently 5+3 today so I will be 7+3 on 18th (I was thinking today was Tuesday and that I was 5+2 🤦🏼‍♀️).
But still so close, and my dates could very well change after a scan anyway!
So exciting!

MrsC105 · 04/12/2019 18:06

Does anyone know how to work out how many weeks you are if you don't know when you conceived due to irregular periods?x

Sjacey · 04/12/2019 18:24

Hi @MrsC105 I believe you date it back to the first day of your last period for example the first day of my last period was 5th of November that makes me 4 weeks + 1 day pregnant. X

MrsC105 · 04/12/2019 18:34

@sjacy my last period was the beginning of October and had a negative last week so I'm defo not that far gone x

Frazzlerock · 04/12/2019 18:39

@MrsC105 I also have very long cycles (40+ days). Estimating EDD by using the first day of your last period is only useful if you have textbook 28 day cycles. If you know exactly when you ovulated, you can go back two weeks from then and use that date as the first day of your last period.
Otherwise, only a scan will be able to estimate. When you see your GP, they will book you in for a scan to determine your EDD. This is what I had to do with my first two DC. My last two babies and this one, I knew exactly when I ovulated (from temping) so was able to make a pretty good guess.

MrsC105 · 04/12/2019 18:54

@frazzlerock thank you! I don't have a clue when I ovulated either 🙈😂
After 5 months of stressing my self out using opk's nearly every day I decided to give up and just let it happen when it happens and then it did haha x

Sjacey · 04/12/2019 19:06

@MrsC105 sorry I see what you mean !. Did you use An early pregnancy test as I saw that you mention on the 29th it was negative and on Monday you got a positive So I’d say you ovulated around the 3rd week of November if the test you took on the 29th is correct as tests pick up hcg as early as 2 weeks after conception I believe x

Sjacey · 04/12/2019 19:07

So my guess would be that your around 4 weeks pregnant but as @Frazzlerock said your best bet is an early dating scan x

MrsC105 · 04/12/2019 19:24

@sjacy thank you! I have an app next Friday anyway so o guess I'll find out more then!

PandaPink · 04/12/2019 21:20

Good evening all! I googled 'due August 2020' and found this thread Smile

I'm 4wks and 4 days pregnant. Last AF 1st November which would make me due 7th August.

My partner and I were trying to lose some weight before trying we had planned to try Dec/Jan and somehow my natural contraception plan has caught me out much to my delight! I'm so happy and terrified at the same time.

I'm 29 years, 16st. One chemical 10 years ago and one anembryonic pregnancy last year diagnosed at 9 week reassurance scan.

I DTD cd10 and have my LH surge Cd12 meaning I ovulated cd13 or 14. So the little swimmers must have hung about! I tested as early as 8dpo I knew I was pregnant but got BFN until 11dpo and it was the faintest of faint lines. I just knew it!!

Symptoms so far include -crying a lot, grumpy, bloated, hello nipples! Hunger, heightened sense of smell, vivid dreams but also insomnia! Awake at 3am every night! Gas and/or mild cramping unsure what it is to be honest.

Fingers crossed for healthy babies all around 🤞

PandaPink · 04/12/2019 21:21

**I'm 4wks 5days

Girlinglasses · 04/12/2019 22:17

Hi all the newbies and congrats! Just thought I'd check in- still preggers so far. I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow 🙈 I have been very emotional too @PandaPink I think I've cried every day! Other than that I still have sore boobs, peeing every 8 seconds, also waking up in the night, and stomach aches/digestive issues/cramps (also not sure which sometimes!)

I have to say I'm not coping very well with the waiting and seeing, I think my last miscarriage really traumatised me. That and the whole "don't get your hopes up it's very early" is making me feel really scared, it almost feels like people are saying "well it's so early, your not that pregnant yet", as if that will make an difference to me if something happens. I feel like this should be a time where I am anxious AND excited, but all
I feel is anxious.

Sorry for the essay, just wondered if anyone else had been feeling the same and had any advice?

Girlinglasses · 04/12/2019 22:18

To clarify, I've only told my parents and husband!

Jojo19834 · 05/12/2019 05:31

Well I’m 5 weeks 1 day today and have to say yesterday was the least pregnant I have felt for past 9 days. Now I’m back in the camp of not wonder people don’t know they are pregnant sometimes’ rather than the ‘how don’t they know’ hoping it’s just an easy few days following bedding in last week. I’m tired and to be fair incredibly forgetful/distracted atm so maybe these are signs! I checked my clearblue yesterday and hadn’t moved to 3+ but by the weekend it should have, now need to buy another as wasted that one by testing too early!

LucyC2019 · 05/12/2019 06:42

Ps... test was done 26th Nov.

LucyC2019 · 05/12/2019 06:44

Grrr wrote a message and its disappeared into the ether!

Basically, I've only done 1 test... wasnt a weeks one either.. but a clear blue....

Am I missing a trick with not doing a weeks one too?

Can I ask... do you do more to check all is as well as it can be... moving along I mean?? Xx

Jojo19834 · 05/12/2019 07:20

@LucyC2019 some people do, most do more than 1 to make sure it’s not a false positive but others are addicts (poss me)! I like to see line progression as they should get stronger as hcg increases. I also want to know it’s not a chemical so want to get 3+ weeks as risk should have passed then. So much to take in!!

Macbless · 05/12/2019 07:32

@LucyC2019 I'm the same as you. I've just done one clearblue and not the one that gives you the weeks. I can totally understand @Jojo19834 and others doing tests but I thought it might just make more anxious than I already feel. I don't have any of them either so the Yorkshire in me doesn't want to waste money! I have the second test from the clearblue box but then I thought I'd probably over analyse the depth/colour and speed of the line! So I've left it.
I have however, arranged a scan at 8weeks! Which wasn't cheap. So I'm not that Yorkshire about it 😂
