@Sunshine8888 well I'm the first 10 or so weeks I had the jelly lick discharge and I was told it was normal. I then stopped having and and just went to the toilet then and found some. It was really thick but clear and a small amount. I was worried in case it was a bit of the plug! Exactly 3 years ago today my plug came away with my first so I just freaked out!

facevalue · 05/01/2020 22:43

@Caspianberg i completely forgot about that! yeah i did use them ( the thicker the better) i remember my nipples being very sore on fire so remember the nipple cream and also if you can find a gel thing that you can put in the fridge. i remember walking around the house topless and braless as it was the most comfortable thing to do 😂😂😰😱 my husband was shocked everytime he got in from work lol

@Bigbear123 oh no it sounds awful. i suspect i might have a problem developing. over the last 4 days i felt as if something was different. only one tiny lump so i tried to ignore it. last two days it's been a little more sore 😳 out of desperation i just used nappy cream sudocream as had nothing else around and didn't want to put a perfumed cream 😰 for obvious reason... it was soothing and i think it's better already.. it's odd as i'm not constipated so it must be just pressure of pregnancy on lower part of the body. i'm too embarrassed to tell my husband or see a GP 🙄😰

Twitwooo · 05/01/2020 23:02

@Caspianberg I used lansinoh disposable pads (and nipple cream!!). The pads used to sometimes get a bit unstuck with some of the more stretchy nursing bras. I would also like to highlight nipple cream and how important it is! Don't wait to get horrible nipples, just generously apply as soon as it feels a bit off. Nothing worse than a baby nibbling on a cracked nipple.
I also read that you want your dh to give a bottle of formula once a day - I would be wary of doing this as formula tastes different to breast milk and you might end up with issues like baby preferring formula/bottle and refusing to feed etc. expressing for one bottle a day isn't a big job, especially with an electric pump.

@123Pandy my antenatal app gave me this link today. it's a charity for parents getting results i think you can call and get help free.

Hi everyone!

More a general question! How's everyone feeling in themselves? I'm 21 + 4 and seem tired still all the time. I am suffering with PGP but didn't think pregnancy would take so much out of me! Defo not as bad as first trimester but I wouldn't say I've felt normal for a while!!!

Xxx

Caspianberg · 06/01/2020 15:28

@May2311 - Im 23+5. Have been feeling ok actually. Was super tired 6-12 ish weeks. However, decided to paint inside the garage this morning and the stretching up on a ladder probably wasn't the best idea. After 2 hrs I was knackered and felt lightheaded. Took a large slice of cake and an hours lie down to feel better.

I guess when I feel ok, I feel I should just carry on as normal, but should probably be slowing down a bit already. But trying to get things done now, as know as time goes on, and then with a newborn it will be even harder to sort.

mrsf1204 · 06/01/2020 15:31

Hey ladies. We had our 20 week scan this morning all went well. We didn't find out the gender but intrigued what you all guess! It was so hard not to find out but I'm glad we stuck to it!

In answer to how I've been feeling I'm 21 weeks today and apart from the constant flu / colds I feel ok. Tired, and my headaches are still horrendous but hard to say what's a cold and what's pregnancy related. Also suffering with leg cramps and pelvic pain. They aren't nice! I have an appointment with my osteo soon to work on the headaches she's worked wonders for me in the past so hopefully she will again!

@may2311 I'm 20+6 and I feel the same, my energy levels are no where near what they were pre pregnancy. Hoping to get out walking and exercise more to see if it might help!!

May2311 · 06/01/2020 15:44

@Caspianberg I know I'm the same trying to carry on as normal but I suppose we are growing another human so bound to be tired quicker! I start the days with such good intentions with what I need to do and never finish it haha! You are probably right- need to slow down a bit but it is so hard when you want to get sorted!

@mrsf1204 aww lovely scan photo! I would say boy! I'm no expert though- that was my first thought when I saw scan. Sorry to hear your still suffering with headaches etc - fingers crossed you get sorted soon!

I think perhaps I just feel abit moany today as have very little energy but had big plans for what I wanted to do!! Xxx

Caspianberg · 06/01/2020 16:19

Think I am going to do an ikea order shortly also. Want to then to deliver sooner rather than later so we can build the drawers up. Then we will actually have somewhere to put bits in ie clothes, nappies etc as we buy them instead of a carrier bag!

Sunshine8888 · 06/01/2020 17:46

I’m feeling ok at 23+2, I still get tired and out of breath when walking or doing things around the house but I just go more slowly and make sure I rest. This is my first full week back at work though for a few weeks and the thought is exhausting.

I do feel quite uncomfortable under my ribs now, like something is stuck there and it’s hard to bend down. It’s not all the time so I’m wondering if it could be baby?!

@mrsf1204 aww congrats and that’s some willpower not finding out!

I can’t believe how much my bump has grown - apparently baby will double in weight over the next 4 weeks as well! I really need some new work maternity clothes as I’m still trying to squeeze into my normal clothes and it’s getting uncomfortable!

sao81 · 06/01/2020 18:32

@May2311 I'm 19+6 and also have PGP, i feel like im in constant pain, feel physically and mentally drained, its really getting me down being told not to lift anything, even my little girl. I've ordered a support belt so hoping that will help! Have you been given any advice?

mintbear · 06/01/2020 18:50

@sao81 which belt have you ordered?

mintbear · 06/01/2020 19:12

I like this question and reading the responses!

I'm 23+4 and I'm going to say it, pregnancy sucks.
I'm still throwing up on an almost daily basis, my spd/pgp is awful and brings me to tears. I'm managing my gestational diabetes with diet only at the moment which is good but also means eating is even harder when combined with feeling sick/food smell aversions. I got my first red stretch mark over the weekend as I am the size of a boat.

I read something the other day that said we don't get pregnant to be pregnant, it's just the journey, here's to that and bring on the babies!

May2311 · 06/01/2020 19:56

@sao81 my GP referred me to physio about a month ago and I must say they have been really good! I've got exercises to do( haven't noticed any difference yet but was told it will take 4-6 weeks to notice a difference) and I picked up the support belt on Friday so can't say whether that's going to help yet!. Although sat and Sunday I was in awful pain with it- I actually think it was my body getting used to holding myself differently if that makes sense! Today I've felt much better but I honestly think it's something that will be there till birth! I've also been told the usual- keep knees together where possible, don't stand on one leg etc ( not that I could anyways!!). Tbh it's on a night I'm struggling the most - I wake up at least every hour having to change positions. I guess that will be why I'm feel so tired during the day! I start a group PGP class with the physios in a few weeks- not sure what it entails but presuming it is exercises! Xxx

Layladylay234 · 06/01/2020 20:00

Bit off topic but along with the heartburn, which seems to be constant no matter what I eat or what time of day I eat, is anyone finding they're belching LOADS, especially in the evening?

Imshaw · 06/01/2020 20:35

Hi everyone I’m new here 😊 I’m 23 weeks today, baby boy due 4th May

@Layladlay234 I’m in the same boat as you, heartburn pretty much all day everyday for the past month at least, and super gassy!! 🤦🏼‍♀️

sao81 · 06/01/2020 20:40

@May2311 my gp said midwife has to refer me for physio, midwife said theres nothing they can do but may induce at 37 wks if im suffering, which I really am. Think bc ny 2 year old hasnt slept through in 2 weeks thats taking its toll too

@mintbear www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B076Q5YQF4?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image&tag=mumsnetforu03-21 mine arrives tomorrow ordered Friday so pretty quick xx

sao81 · 06/01/2020 20:48

@May2311 awful spelling as typing 1 handed due to her having hold of.my hand dosing off 😭 is the belt tight? It looks tight on pics xx

May2311 · 06/01/2020 21:32

@sao81 aw bless her- just think you will have 2 little hands to hold soon!! You vary the tightness depending on how much support you need. I have mine quite tight but it has to be below bump so I actually struggle to tighten it on my own. It's so bizarre how different trusts provide different treatment/care. My midwife does the bare minimum to get me out as quick as possible( she missed basic stuff last time) but GP and physio and scans at the hospital have been great! Xxx

Purple29 · 06/01/2020 21:33

@ladyladylay234 I haven't really had the heartburn, but omg the belching is just unreal!!! I only drink water as well, cant stand fizzy juice and off tea and coffee 😭 so I've never had this before!! Its awful!!

sao81 · 06/01/2020 21:38

@May2311 I've just been on our trusts website and found a self referral for the physio so going to give them a call tomorrow! My midwife was lovely at my appointment but just said the likelyhood of it improving is slim so to rest, no lifting, painkillers when necessary. I believe they have a really long waiting list for the physio so maybe thats why they dont promote it? Will see tomorrow! Xx

sao81 · 06/01/2020 21:39

@Purple29 omg the burping!! I keep getting trapped wind at the top of my tummy and the most horrendously loud burps 🙈

facevalue · 06/01/2020 22:09

@sao81 and your midwife wasn't lying .. i had it in my last pregnancy. i tried everything including physio hydropool painkillers etc.. 2 days after having the baby it just disappeared 😳🙄 i almost thought i imagined the bloody thing

sao81 · 06/01/2020 22:22

@facevalue aaah its awful isnt it! Have you been ok this time round? I keep thinking it could be because of the way im carrying, as my placenta is on the left so all the pressure and pain is on my right side which must be where babs is tucked away, already counting the days until hes here so i can walk without looking like I've s**t myself!
