Had my 22 week 'organ screening' they do here today. It was really interesting. It was a 90 ish minute full scan where they measured all bones, organs, blood levels, and check the placenta and umbilical cord. He literally took 200+ pictures and measurements.

We now have lots of 3d pictures and videos which are great, he looks like a real baby now. Had both hands and one foot near his mouth at one point, and was sucking a thumb. Weighs 570g (1.3lbs) already, and 25 cm long.

Purple29 · 30/12/2019 16:53

@sazzlerazzle yeah I have been feeling flutters and little movements for a couple of weeks and the more it goes on the more I keep feeling it. I hope it's a nice long scan!!! So far I have been really lucky where I am, every professional has been amazing. The first scan I was in for 45 mins cause the girl wanted to make sure we got a good picture!! So hoping it continues!! So exciting that we are all coming up to our 20 week scans!!

Raindancer411 · 30/12/2019 17:45

Nub lol silly fone!!

Moongirl10 · 30/12/2019 18:09

What do you think of this for skull theory? I’m finding out on Friday!

CharlieB93 · 30/12/2019 18:47

@Raindancer411 @Moongirl10
I think they both look like girls! No idea why though - I have no idea how these theory’s work 😝

Sunshine8888 · 30/12/2019 19:13

@rosewater20 you can get a Henry carrycot but Uppababy were trying to charge extra for it. As it’s being discontinued though maybe it’ll be discounted for clearance.

I’m 22+2 and feeling kicks and jabs every day now, mostly at night around 11pm when I’m trying to sleep 😂 a sign of things to come probably! Absolutely love it though

May2311 · 30/12/2019 19:27

@CharlieB93 I think boy!

@Rebecca612 girl

@Raindancer411 girl!

I have no experience just my initial thought😂

I'm having a girl- I've attached my latest scan for you to compare😊

20 week scan this morning went really well! A very active and healthy baby BOY joining the family! Raided Mothercare at long last and picked up my Next sale orders! Already bought some matchy matchy bits for the two once baby arrives. Cried all morning, feeling very blessed and living in a little bubble of happiness at the minute. Back to work Thursday and then we have 5 months to renovate our house in time for baby's arrival haha we love a challenge!!!!

GinUnicorn · 30/12/2019 21:41

Congratulations Bear

Herewego2020 · 31/12/2019 08:49

Congratulations everyone on scans and genders 😁
Can I ask for everyone advice or thoughts on the whooping cough vaccine please. Has anyone had it and anyone choosing not to? I was debating but since oh and my 13 year old walking round coughing their lives away I've booked mine. I bloody hate injections lol I can do bloods but thought of injections makes me sweat lol. I chose not to do flu jab and I've not ever had my now 10 year done when offered at school either. Just need more knowledge on this whooping cough one before friday

GinUnicorn · 31/12/2019 08:54

Yes I’ve had it and it’s fine. Please do it as it protects your baby. I had one a few years ago for my daughter and had to have another for this pregnancy as the jab is for your unborn child.

I would also recommend flu simply as minimising your risk of flu with a newborn is sensible. It’s really not bad - just a second for that protection is so worth it.

mintbear · 31/12/2019 08:58

@May2311 I agree with all of your predictions!
@CharlieB93 boy
@Rebecca612 girl
@Raindancer411 girl
@Moongirl19 I'm not so sure on this one sorry!

This was my 12 week photo.. and (although we're not really sharing, it's ok to on here) we are having a boy too!

For those of you finding out soon, enjoy x

Sunshine8888 · 31/12/2019 09:03

Congrats on the latest scans ☺️

@Herewego2020 I have had my flu jab and am having my whooping cough vaccine on Thursday. I don’t like injections either but both are important to protect you and baby. Personally I wouldn’t hesitate to have both given that it takes less than a minute and could make a crucial difference to you and your baby’s health x

Rebecca612 · 31/12/2019 09:05

Oooo 100% girl predictions - I'll let you all know on the 13th!

RE: Whooping cough jab, I've just booked mine in, agree with @GinUnicorn any protection for baba is worth the stress of the needle.

Caspianberg · 31/12/2019 09:11

The NHs website says this on whooping cough:

As there is no whooping cough-only vaccine, the vaccine you'll be given also protects against polio, diphtheria and tetanus. The vaccine is called Boostrix IPV.

You can read the manufacturer's patient information leaflet for Boostrix IPV (PDF, 91kb).

The manufacturer's leaflet says there's no information on the use of Boostrix IPV in pregnancy. Should it be used in pregnancy?
The licence for Boostrix IPV allows for its use in pregnancy when clearly needed, and when the possible benefits outweigh the possible risks.

So im not sure... It basically seems to say it hasn't actually been tested on pregnant women, but to have if the risks of catching it outway the risks of the vaccine.

Herewego2020 · 31/12/2019 09:12

@sunshine8888 yes I'm booked in for friday morning just hope I don't faint 😂. People look at me and always say "how can you be scared as you have tattoos".. I'm like "different pain". 😅

Sunshine8888 · 31/12/2019 09:38

@herewego2020, hopefully you can lie down and shut your eyes! Will be over in a flash!

Herewego2020 · 31/12/2019 09:59

@sunshine8888 everytime my 13year old comes near me coughing I'm almost running away 😅. I have been standing at a good distance giving him instructions for his medicine when oh isn't around, I said I'm asking doctors for masks when i take him today 😂

Sunshine8888 · 31/12/2019 10:05

@herewego2020, haha aww I hope you don’t catch anything!

Also ladies I have downloaded the NHS Squeezy app to remind me to do my pelvic floor exercises 3 times a day. Hoping this will help in the long run!

May2311 · 31/12/2019 12:14

@Herewego2020 I've had both flu and whooping cough vaccine and both were fine- over in seconds! Ask to lie down if you faint( I always do for injections/blood) but somehow since being pregnant I haven't once!

@Sunshine8888 that app looks brill! I've downloaded and had a little play with it. Thanks for recommendation! Xxx

Eveebee · 31/12/2019 12:26

Hi all! Just joined over here :-) first timer due May 23rd!
Been reading back and lovely to see all your scans and advice. My 20wk is on 9th, and while I've been fine not knowing the gender, this week is DRAGGING!!!
(I was going to add my scan for guesses, but there's no paperclip?!?! Guess I'll still be waiting then haha!)

@Herewego2020 think the possible pros outway the cons with jabs - booked mine for next week :-)

Herewego2020 · 31/12/2019 12:35

Thanks ladies. I'm sure will be fine 😁 took my 13 year old to doctors today as he has had back pain for a long time and he has to have an xray Friday after my jab to make sure it's not scoliosis ☹ I just thought was possible sports injury. He has to click it to relieve the pain which makes me shudder too bless his heart. I shall think positive though. She also checked his cough and said it's not looking like whooping cough so has prescribed him antibiotics if not gone by friday. The worry never ends with children lol.
