@sazzlerazzle hey! I couldn't wait and we had a private scan at 16 weeks. We're having a little girl. how far along are you? Will you/have you found out?
this is my third pregnancy after a loss following an assault and a miscarriage so I have crazy heightened emotions about everything (which I'm sure everyone else does too!)
I was with my sister in her labour and it actually scarred me for life 😂 so im going to need to look into hypnobirthing or something!

Purple29 · 29/12/2019 19:31

@mummyje20 my next scan is the same date and nearly the same due date, I'm 19+5, so a day ahead.

I was the same, couldnt wait to find out and we are having a little boy 💙 I'm sooooo excited. First time baby for me, sorry to hear about your previous experiences!! So far I've been lucky, some headaches but loads of water seems to work for me!! No real sickness. Hope you start feeling better.

I've been thinking about labour too and I feel surprisingly calm about it!! I'm usually a worrier lol 😊

sazzlerazzle · 29/12/2019 19:46

@mummyje20 aah congratulations! 🎀 I’m so sorry about your losses, I can’t imagine how hard that must have been. But you’re here now and it sounds like your little girl is doing just fine ☺️

I’m 23 weeks... my due date was brought forward a week at my 12 week scan so I’m actually due end of April now but who knows when they’ll decide to make an appearance.

I’m going to look at hypnobirthing too... my sister has given me a dvd about it but I’ve been putting off watching it or anything else related to labour 😂

sao81 · 29/12/2019 19:50

@sazzlerazzle I have definitely eaten over that too this past week! I've set myself a goal to be better with my food in the new year

mummyje20 · 29/12/2019 20:14

@Purple29 congratulations! I was so sure I was having a boy haha. Admittedly I've been really really bad at drinking enough so I should get on that..! But even paracetamol doesn't touch my headaches. Oh well! It will all be worth it Xmas Smile. Let us know how your scan goes! I've heard it is a really long one?
@sazzlerazzle Thank you, yeah she seems to be doing great; I'm sitting at my computer and she keeps kicking me, it's such a lovely feeling :) when did you start to feel movements? Mine literally only started last week.
Haha you sound like me, I've got a couple of books and skip right over the labour parts, I think I'm in denial Xmas Grin

Purple29 · 29/12/2019 21:07

@mummyje20 that weird I was convinced girl when I went for mine!! I was just happy baby was healthy tho. Yeah I had some headaches that would last days and paracetamol never touched it, they only come back now when I dont drink water.

Yeah I will let you all know how the scan goes!! I hope it's a long one, longer i get to see baby on the screen the better!! Lol

mummyje20 · 29/12/2019 21:22

@Purple29 oh definitely me too! hearing her heartbeat is the best.
My hospital don't print pics anymore, so yeah i love the time she's on the screen!

woollycat · 29/12/2019 22:43

@mummyje20 welcome! I am also very close to your and @Purple29 dates - I am 19+3 and scan is on Jan 8. It's my first pregnancy and I have found this group both very informative and comforting ❤️

mummyje20 · 29/12/2019 22:51

@woollycat thank you! Congrats ❤️ yes it's lovely to have a place where people are going through the same things and to hear others experiences x

Purple29 · 29/12/2019 23:58

@wollycat your scan is getting so close now. This is also my first and totally agree, people on here are so helpful. Nice to share the whole experience!!

rosewater20 · 30/12/2019 04:48

@Sunshine8888, I had no idea about the Henry, thank you for letting me know because the carrycot is one of the reasons why I like the stroller.

Rebecca612 · 30/12/2019 10:54

Hi all! I'm due end of May and so excited! Starting to get a bit anxious as I'll be a first time mum but trying to be as calm and chilled as poss.

We've not got any huge complications but I'm consultant led now as they found a huge (26cmx16cm) ovarian cyst so I'm in the hospital every 4 weeks discussing whether to drain it or not. Apart from that baby is absolutely fine so far :)

This might have been discussed already so apols if it has but is there any benefit over using a next to me crib vs a moses basket? I've had some mums tell me different advice so far :)

sazzlerazzle · 30/12/2019 12:14

@Purple29 I started having little flutters and rumbles at around 17 weeks I think, although I wasn’t certain at the time if they were baby or just wind 😂 Now I’m very much feeling kicks and all sorts! Hope you have a nice sonographer who talks you through everything during the scan - it will be a long one because they’re checking for any anomalies although you might not be able to watch the screen the whole time. At our scan, she did all the checks with the screen pointing away and then when she was done she showed us the screen and spent a while showing us where everything was, it was wonderful ☺️

@Rebecca612 Thank goodness they found the cyst and can address it now, glad it’s not causing any issues to you or baby :) I think it’s personal choice with the next to me crib or Moses basket.... a basket tends to be a bit more lightweight and portable so you might want this for using both upstairs and down. Some bedside cribs can be moved around easily so they function like a Moses basket too. A lot of my friends have suggested, if it’s an option, to have a crib upstairs and a separate basket that stays downstairs as it can be difficult carrying the basket safely on the stairs with baby inside. Do what works for you :)

CharlieB93 · 30/12/2019 12:56

Hi guys, just been lookinv at skull theory on on the internet and me ah OH can’t decide any way! (We find out hopefully on the 2nd but we’re so impatient!) any ideas? 😁

Due May 2020 (Thread 4)
Rebecca612 · 30/12/2019 13:51

Thanks @sazzlerazzle I think I'm going to go for the next to me crib and have a think about what to have downstairs. I'm only 18+5 so we've got a while to make the decision!

I know, well we think we wouldn't have found out about the cyst if I wasn't pregnant. It wasn't that big before I was pregnant apparently but we're so happy that we're being monitored closely.

@CharlieB93 - based on skull theory it looks like a little boy but I've had so many different guesses on our scan that I don't know what to believe! I find out on 13th - so jealous you get to find out so soon!

GinUnicorn · 30/12/2019 14:13

I’m embarrassed to admit this but I submitted to the gender experts for a guess. They say girl on mine. I feel like it’s a girl too. I can’t wait to find out!

GinUnicorn · 30/12/2019 14:13

@CharlieB93 disclaimer I am no expert but my guess is boy

CharlieB93 · 30/12/2019 14:59

@Rebecca612 @GinUnicorn ohhh thank you! I'd love a little boy (would also love a little girl haha!) how does the theory even work? I've looked at images on the internet and can't made heads (haha) or tails of it!

GinUnicorn · 30/12/2019 15:01

My very uneducated opinion is the boys skulls are more blocky whereas girls are rounded. I also think you might have a pointing upwards nub.

I am no expert at all though!

Rebecca612 · 30/12/2019 15:03

@CharlieB93 Like @GinUnicorn said - disclaimer, I'm far from an expert but from the Googling/research I've done they say boys have a more pronounced eyebrow and rounder forehead.

My scan photo has a flat forehead and everyone is guessing girl haha

GinUnicorn · 30/12/2019 15:08

@rebecca have you posted yours? Would love to compare for nosiness Smile

CharlieB93 · 30/12/2019 15:13

Its so interesting isn't it! I'm so excited about the 2nd now - it's going to make it feel so much more real. I've got major anxiety about the scan though, i'm such a worrier!

sazzlerazzle · 30/12/2019 15:41

Out of interest, has anyone on here been keeping track of their guesses and the results?? Do we have an expert in our midst? :D

CharlieB93 · 30/12/2019 15:47

@sazzlerazzle
I'll definitely let you know my result on Thursday though! so far 2 guesses of a boy :)

Rebecca612 · 30/12/2019 16:26

Here’s my little one at 15 weeks. We had a little scare so had a check up @ 15 weeks but all was good! We’ve so far had lots of girl guesses and 3 boy guesses (including my husband)! Very long legs as well, the more to kick me with haha
