@Purple29 thanks for responding. Ah sorry you’re experiencing it too! Mines not unbearable at the min, just a tad sore/itchy on off. I do have some external thrush cream which the nhs website advises is fine during pregnancy. Just used a tiny dab there.

As for the brown spotting, just going to keep an eye on it as you say. It is very very light/little. My 20 weeks scan is next week (Christmas eve) so hopefully if everything is fine between now and then, then Atleast il be able to get some reassurance from scan hopefully x

Girls I suffered from thrush really badly in my first pregnancy and had it a couple of times this time round too (it can be really common for some women and reoccurring too!). I was thinking last night... I feel I could have it again now :( You can absolutely you the thrush cream and pessary at any stage of your pregnancy. I have used it in all trimesters and been told it's fine by the doctors, midwife, consultant and pharmacist. Don't let your selves suffer as it will only get worse! Perhaps the pharmacist was reluctant to give it if you haven't been tested yet.... but you honestly can use it ❤️

november90 · 16/12/2019 06:50

you are only advised to use the vaginal tablet, not the oral!

Sunshine8888 · 16/12/2019 08:21

Congrats @May2311 💝

Caspianberg · 16/12/2019 11:38

I had to use the thrush cream, and the gp said it had to be a lower doseage, so that's probably why the pharmasist won't give out. I think it was like a 100mg or something... rather than 250/500mg. Not all the pharmacists stock it

november90 · 16/12/2019 18:07

@Caspianberg wow that's crazy that we both have been given such different advice! In my first pregnancy I was told to buy the vaginal pessary over the counter whenever I needed it and I did literally once a week at some stages as it was common! I checked so many times as I was worried about over usage and was told it was totally fine.
It's crazy how different doctors can advise so differently! I was told that as it's a vaginal tablet it doesn't travel through the body, whereas the oral one does so not to use that one.
Obviously I'm not discrediting anyone else's advise, this is just what I was told/did/have done again.

I think I'm gonna go to my midwife drop in Center tomorrow as I feel my second water Infection of the month coming on. I suffered with them so badly first time round. Anyone else been in this boat and have any other tips other then drinking a ton of water!

Purple29 · 16/12/2019 19:29

@november90 thanks!! I phoned the midwife first thing and she sorted out an emergency prescription of the pessary and the cream!! Ahe said it's perfectly safe. She just wanted me to do a swab to confirm it was that, but was happy to issue the treatment before the result!!! Thank god, weekend of torture!! Lol

Niki93 · 16/12/2019 21:50

@november90 ive also thought i may if have a water infection but ive never had one before. Doing the usual of downing water, cranberry juice and warm salt baths.

@Purple29 hope the thrush treatment sorts the job out xx

woollycat · 17/12/2019 09:16

By water infection do you guys mean a UTI?

Caspianberg · 17/12/2019 10:38

@november90 - we have been given the same advice surely? Both no oral medication? and the pessary/cream on prescription basis as lower dose

PegglePaw · 17/12/2019 11:27

@Helensss I cant find it Blush is it hidden/private? X

november90 · 17/12/2019 12:24

@Caspianberg I haven't been advised to use a lower dosage, just the normal treatment from over the counter!

biaa · 17/12/2019 13:39

Hello everyone, I am new here but I am also due in May, well end of May. I am now 17 weeks :) Nice to meet you all!

Caspianberg · 17/12/2019 14:06

@november90 - ah yes I see. The non-oral tablet is the same though. I'm not in the uk, its all consultant based here and they do seem over cautious so that's probably why the dose suggestion is different. They also wanted me to take that and antibiotics for as little time as possible, so prescribe 3 days worth, then need to go and be retested, then will prescribe another 3 days etc after if needed.

mintbear · 17/12/2019 15:35

Hey all,
I had my 20 week scan today
Here's a pic, baby is on their side facing forward 'kissing' the screen, nose, lips and an arm

May2311 · 17/12/2019 17:18

@mintbear aw lovely scan photo! Xx

Sunshine8888 · 17/12/2019 18:23

Aww glad all is well @mintbear ☺️

Raindancer411 · 17/12/2019 21:26

I just got back from the triage after being checked as been having palpitations. Had them after having my first but thought I best get checked. ECG all ok and was told they will check my bloods and let me know is any issue with that, but they can be common in pregnancy so just to keep an eye on it

Helensss · 17/12/2019 21:28

@PegglePaw 💐MAY TIME 💐 it’s under, it is private but you should be able to ask to join, I did, if not if you private message me your fb name I can invite you if you want 😊

@mintbear
lovely! Glad everything is well , mine is on Monday! Really nervous but I can feel baby now so I’m hoping it’s all good

May2311 · 18/12/2019 06:17

@Raindancer411 glad all was ok. I've been having palpitations as well particularly when I lie down but I read that it's quite common in 2nd trimester due to the increase of blood flow. X

Raindancer411 · 18/12/2019 06:44

@May2311 It's nice to know I am not alone lol Mine are more so when I am sitting down and watching tv. They are annoying and uncomfortable. I never had them in my first pregnancy.

I remember when I had them after he was born though and had lots of tests and was told it's common in women in their 30s.

Clairesoph · 18/12/2019 08:33

I'm trying so hard not to wish Christmas away but my 20 week scan is about 13 days away and I am desperate to know everything is growing as it should! I feel a lot of movement, once it started it never really stopped and it's so reassuring! My bump has pretty much exploded out of nowhere 🤣 I'm just so excited all the time and May feels like forever away!!!

Sunshine8888 · 18/12/2019 08:45

The last two days on and off I’ve felt something in my rib cage at the side. It’s not painful but it’s like a little jab from the inside. Could it be possible baby has moved that high up? I’m 20+4 today

sao81 · 18/12/2019 10:38

@november90 I've already had 4 UTIs in the past 3 months 🙈 I've just been drinking lots of cranberry juice and getting urine tested as soon as I feel one coming on to get antibiotics. My midwife said if it continues they can refer to a consultant so definitely mention it!

@biaa congrats! Im also end of May, 26th 😊

@mintbear how lovely is that scan pic! Xx

@sunshine8888 baby may be kicking upwards, I had that quite alot first time round and it used to catch me by surprise! This time all my movements have been really low down

sao81 · 18/12/2019 10:39

Has anyone been suffering with really bad headaches? I have a drs app today but I feel like my brain is swollen and keep getting a shooting pain in the side of my face, by my right eye, its really uncomfortabke
