Morning ladies. Been trying to catch up for a few weeks but not messages so thought I’d pop on this morning and catch up again.

@fluffyunicorns86 so pleased the stitch went well, hopefully the cervix length will be fine. I’m sure the kicks will start soon.

@Sunshine8888 Aww what a lovely picture of baby sucking her thumb. I remember with my DD after the 20wk scan the days just seemed to fly by.
I’d call your midwife and check, it’s strange she hasn’t spoken about the jab, but it’s fine you can still get it in at the gp or maternity unit maybe, I know my hospital does a walk in service for the jab at certain points in the week.

I’m 17wks today and touch wood feeling ok, feeling huge as second baby (3rd pregnancy) but I look like I did at 20wks with DD. Just all bump nowhere else yet. We heard the HB at midwife appointment yesterday and it was the best sound ever. Such relief. Our 20wk scan in New Year’s Eve, can’t bloody wait.

Anyhoo, hope everyone had a nice Wednesday.

woollycat · 11/12/2019 09:02

Looks like the whooping cough vaccination routine varies from trust to trust. At my 16w appointment the midwife said at our trust they do it after 20w and it's walk-in, so she told me to go there after my 20w scan and get it done.

I am still taking folic acid + vit D and I forgot to ask my midwife if I should switch to just vit D now. Anyone taking the Pregnacare multivitamins? They seem to have a LOT of things in there, not sure if all of that is strictly necessary but I am considering switching to that. I do worry they'll make me sick though as they have iron.

Have a great Wednesday all! ❤️

Raindancer411 · 11/12/2019 12:12

@woollycat I am only taking Vit D since finishing folic acid at 12 weeks. Apparently that is all we need. I took pregnacare with first pregnancy but it makes a lot of people feel sick.

As for whooping cough, I was told it's to be had after the 20 week scan and to book in at the docs

facevalue · 11/12/2019 12:46

@woollycat tbh i stopped taking all supplements after my 12w scan🙄. midwife said at 16w app if ur blood tests are ok and u eat a normal mixed diet then it's ok not to take supplements .. i have loads left so i should just take them but i can't be bothered🤪

Sunshine8888 · 11/12/2019 13:07

I’ve carried on with the pregnancy multi vitamins as vitamin D is still important. Your body will just get rid of what it doesn’t need

GinUnicorn · 11/12/2019 14:24

Hi all

Mine offered flu and whooping cough from 16 weeks too. Glad that’s done.

I’m taking the vitamins still partly because it was 3 for 2 so I have lots.

No date yet for my 20 week scan. I’m still having girl vibes so can’t wait to know.

Purple29 · 11/12/2019 17:23

@wollycat the pregnacare ones made me sick, so i am taking the seven seas ones and they seem to be better. It says on them.that they can be taken the whole way through so i figured might as well keep taking them, vitamins and minerals cant be bad for me or baby!

sao81 · 11/12/2019 19:50

@Bumpingalong84 its my 2nd baby too, I'm 16+1 and I've really popped out already! I know they say you go bigger with your second but at this rate the bump will be bigger than me!

Ive had my flu jab but no whooping cough. I had that around 25 weeks last time so guessing it'll be the same this time.

Had my 16 week app today and feel so reassured. Midwife booked my 20 week scan for 7th Jan so will be dead on 20 weeks. I keep getting UTIs so thats getting monitored, and mentioned the pelvic pain and how sore it is already. She said if my spd becomes really problematic they'd look on inducing me at 37 weeks which is scary and exciting! But that would bring me to 5th May rather than 26th May

Niki93 · 11/12/2019 19:59

Ive only been advised to get a flu jab, nothing else.

Im 18weeks atm. First pregnancy and still felt not flutters or kicks. Suffering with loads of intense headaches tho. Currently nursing one now, anyone else suffering with this? My gender scan is Christmas eve, which makes it lots more exciting! X

Naughtysausage · 11/12/2019 20:33

I had my whooping cough at 16 weeks. Midwife told me to book in but when I turned up the nurse was a bit... unsure about doing it. She said public health England were wary about doing it pre- 20 weeks, because any anomalies on the scan might be blamed on the vaccine.
I still got the vaccine because I can't see whooping cough causing anything at 16 weeks that it wouldn't at 21.
But she really jammed it in. Plus it had 3 other vaccines mixed with it as they don't do a single whooping cough. So I'm covered for tetanus, polio and diphtheria too I think, with quite a sore arm!

facevalue · 11/12/2019 20:41

I THINK I HAVE AN ABDOMINAL HERNIA 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭.. i just pulled myself up to sit on the sofa using my abdominal muscles. 😢 i didnt like the look of this at all 🙄..

i also had this constant feeling that the food is stuck in my chest- not throat / just below.. it's bothering me - water isn't shifting it so i keep eating to shift it... i just took an omeprazole to see if it's acid.

🥴 not a good day. i also attended a class talking about birth options which freaked me out 🤯

helpasisterout · 11/12/2019 20:45

Hopefully getting my whooping cough vaccine tomorrow, however full of the cold still so not sure if they will administer or not? I will be 17+1.

My skin has broken loose this last two days lots of hormonal sore spots under the skin on jaw line!

Wonder when I will begin to feel any movements 😊

Sunshine8888 · 12/12/2019 08:59

Thanks for all the replies re whooping cough vaccine. My midwife explained this should be done from 20 weeks and to make an appointment at my doctors surgery. However they don’t have any appointments until January so waiting for a call back to confirm if it’s ok to wait 🙄

Missmuck · 12/12/2019 09:34

Hi ladies I'm 19 weeks tomorrow been feeling the odd kick/flick/flutter but 7 days ago baby was kicking quite rhythmically in the morning when I got called into work to cover paternity at 5:30am it later about 5 minutes and since then nothing really I'm thinking I can feel the odd movement like a mini washing machine but nothing like last week, I've got it in my head the baby was in distress 😞 I know it's too early to have consistent movement but I just feel worried x x x

Caspianberg · 12/12/2019 11:05

I am not in Uk but haven't heard anything about whopping cough vaccine here. I don't think they give it.
Have an 'organ screening' at 23 weeks, and a 'glucose fasting test' at 27 weeks, so otherwise they are very hot on scans and tests here. They don't seem to leave more than 4 weeks between each test.

Haven't discussed or heard of any birthing options yet either, I think they do it at the 27 week scan.

fluffyunicorns86 · 12/12/2019 12:23

@Bumpingalong84 got the length check after 20 week scan will let you know next week. I had a nightmare this week in run out of my cyclogest and GP refused to prescribe it and said they couldn't. Had to go MDAU unit yesterday after midwife. Feeling positive after getting past 17 and 18 weeks but still anxious about it all.

Hope you all doing ok

Anyone else at around 17 weeks still suffering with indigestion?

Court1994 · 12/12/2019 16:08

I’m 16 weeks and 3 days pregnant with twins and I’m due May 25. I have a 5 1/2 month old daughter and a 9 year old stepson. I am really struggling with HG, I can barely look after the kids and work.

Sunshine8888 · 12/12/2019 22:50

Baby is super active tonight, I’m feeling so much movement - it’s amazing. My husband is so excited as he can feel the kicks too now. What an incredible feeling

Naughtysausage · 12/12/2019 23:26

@Raindancer411 me! It's actually only just started. Are you taking anything?

May2311 · 13/12/2019 05:58

@Sunshine8888 Awww how lovely! I've been feeling movements for a couple of weeks but got stronger this week- hubby sits on a night with his hand waiting to feel- the other night we got shock of our lives as it kicked really strong and he felt it! I knew just by the strength so quickly turned to look at him- his face was a picture 😂

Only thing I'm struggling with now is when baby isn't as active so then it makes me worry!! I hope I'm not going to be like this throughout when baby has a quiet day!! Don't have my next scan until 2 weeks today but cannot wait!

Also a random one for everyone- I have always slept on my side which turns out is good for now, however last couple of nights my ribs have been sore ( feel bruised) by lying on them. Not sure why when it's not like I'm not used to sleeping like that.

Happy Friday everyone! Xxx

Raindancer411 · 13/12/2019 07:32

@Naughtysausage I have omaprazle (cannot spell it) but makes me feel worse so back to gaviscon but only helps in the short term. Trying the dual action one now

Purple29 · 13/12/2019 08:08

@Sunshine8888 can I ask how far on you are? Is this your first baby? I cant wait to feel movement but I'm now 17+3 with my first and haven't really felt anything. I thought I felt a weird little flutter or 2 last night but nothing significant!! My placenta is at the front tho!!

Sunshine8888 · 13/12/2019 08:37

@Purple29 I’m 20 weeks tomorrow. My placenta is also at the front but the baby is big enough now to be felt. It’s only really been the last week that I’ve started to feel her without looking for it. She seems most active around 11pm at night. I wouldn’t notice it at the moment if I was walking around or busy, it’s when I’m relaxed that I really feel her.

@May2311 the midwife said we probably won’t feel regular movement until gone 25 weeks. I have just ordered a pregnancy pillow to try and help me stay sleeping on my side as I keep waking up on my back!
