@november90 its one of the first and worst pregnancy symptoms I get 😩 the only thing that helps me is dried apricots by the bagful! I got haemorrhoids quite badly after my first birth and they never fully went away and now with the added constipation it is so painful. I hope you find something that helps xx

Clairesoph · 07/12/2019 20:04

@May2311 boys names are so hard!!!! We have a boy and will be finding out end of Dec if we'll get another (which im sure we are!) but we cannot agree on a name!! Our girls list isnt great either but they seem to be a lot easier to come up with 😅

RiaBillie · 08/12/2019 00:05

@november90 yes please I just need to figure out how to upload a picture lol

november90 · 08/12/2019 01:34

Oh I can't see anything from that link unfortunately @RiaBillie ! The best way to do it is to click the attach button and take a new photo or upload it from there!

Thank you everyone! I will definitely be buying some prune juice tomorrow 😩 xx

helpasisterout · 08/12/2019 07:53

Away for the weekend with some friends at just over 16 weeks and I am FULL of the cold I feel awful! Only got paracetamol to take am I right and 8 in 24hours? (Have only taken 2 so far in desperation)

Can't wait to go home!

facevalue · 08/12/2019 07:59

@november90 oh no. drink lots of water. prunes and lots of fibre.. fruit and veg with skins on. good luck

mintbear · 08/12/2019 08:00

@november90
I've just figured out my ondansetron anti sickness tablets have been causing my constipation - it's been horrendous. Not in pregnancy but when I used to get a bit of constipation I found chia seeds really helped. In addition to diet the docs can give you - fybogel, laxtulose(?), senna etc. Make sure you get some movement in if possible, a swim or walk, just something.

Then if it's still not clearing you may have to move onto suppositories. I've been using one a day for the past week, on top of all of the oral lax above. I'd say if you can, try and get on top of it sooner rather than later. I didn't go for over a week and I'm usually once or twice a day.

I've now got piles and sitting down is really uncomfortable. It's just horrendous and I really feel for you and anyone else suffering.

GinUnicorn · 08/12/2019 08:02

Anyone else suffering with aches all over when they try and sleep?

Add this to the chin acne I’m getting and feeling a bit fed up.

facevalue · 08/12/2019 08:03

@helpasisterout oh no. i hate being ill when i'm not home. i hope you feel better soon. paracetamol is 1g every 6 hours. try honey and chewable vit C tabs. hugs. hope u feel better soon x

november90 · 08/12/2019 08:27

Thank you for all the tips everyone! I really appreciate it 💗 I will definitely look into all of the things!

So I'm just laying in bed with my little boy next to me and my hand on my tummy and felt a big kick from the outside! I can't believe it! It's our first wedding anniversary today and now this! I feel so happy to have finally felt something real!

sao81 · 08/12/2019 08:28

Hi, haven't been on here for a while as I've had all kinds of problems, hypermesis calmed down then at 14 weeks got told I've got pelvic girdle pain, then all this week I've been on bed rest with a chest infection. I'm 15+5 now and just feel so fed up of being unwell or in pain all of the time, feel like its never going to end 😥

woollycat · 08/12/2019 09:01

@sao81 that sounds really tough 😢 hopefully you are past the worst now and chest infection will start clearing up soon. I have been in a similar boat where I've had bad vomiting and nausea since week 6 and as it started getting better I got a horrible cold which is still going. I try and take one day at a time and know that this too will pass. It's a shame when you want to be enjoying the pregnancy but I guess some people have it tougher than others - the result will be worth it though! Sending lots of hugs ❤️

Moonstone12 · 08/12/2019 09:07

@sao81 I totally understand how you are feeling! I actually said to my other half this morning how isolated I feel. I'm the same as you - hyperemisis from 5 weeks and then a chest infection the last 10 days or so (with the horrific cold before that).
I've literally been in bed since the beginning of September.

Please try and not worry too much. Resting helps your body but I do understand the want and need to just feel better! I've managed to reduce my anti sickness meds this week and though it has meant my appetite has decreased I haven't been sick so I think I'm through the worst of that now (fingers crossed 🤞🏻)

I also haven't worked since early September and I'm so looking forward to actually going back to work! Not sure when that will be yet as this chest infection is nasty!

Rest up and remember we are here to chat to if you need xx

17weeks today. feeling few kicks randomly. regularly pointing to my belly and telling my 27 months old DD there's a baby in my belly. she's so lovely about it.

i hope everyone is having a nice weekend x

fluffyunicorns86 · 08/12/2019 13:59

Hello ladies hope everyone is ok. Been so busy with stuff going on here. So had my stitch in 2 weeks ago. I am 19 weeks tomorrow so past the 2 weeks I lost my 2 previous babies so feeling slightly positive. Think I am slowly starting to feel movements still not 100% sure.

I have my 20 week scan on the 17th dec also got to have a cervix length check there aswell to see consultant on the wednesday aswell. No symptoms other than very sore boobs here. I have my boys name now so starting to feel real that it's a boy.

@woollycat @Moonstone12 its so hard isn't it, I feel guilty for just wanting it all done with! I've got a 2 year old aswell and feel like I've not been able to give her much of my time as I've been so unwell. Hope you're both feeling better soon too 💞💞

@fluffyunicorns86 hope everything goes well for you this week! Movements start getting more regular as the weeks go by, so your little ones should too!

Purple29 · 08/12/2019 18:05

Have got another horrible cold coming I think, earache that has last about a week now!!! Could cry 😭 and now a cold sore is coming.... just a rubbish week!! Hope everyone else is doing good tho.

november90 · 08/12/2019 19:47

Girls I'm so sorry to hear how poorly everyone has been :(
Is there a chance these colds could be pregnancy rhinitis or are they definitely colds? I'm just asking because I suffer really badly with congestion, it's been horrific in this pregnancy so I went to the doctors and they have me some nasal spray which has literally worked miracles! I wish I'd gone sooner!
I hope everyone starts to feel better soon and if not please visit your doctors as they might be able to help 💗

sao81 · 08/12/2019 20:33

@november90 I'm not too sure, I know they took sputum samples when I was at hospital so maybe it was to check? Mine was definitely a chest infection though, had an xray when I went to a and e as it was suspected pneumonia 😥

fluffyunicorns86 · 08/12/2019 20:52

@sao81 I really hope so not feeling them makes me panic and sets my worrying and anxiety off because cant feel much gonna speak to midwife on wednesday about it all

OP posts:
sao81 · 08/12/2019 20:58

@fluffyunicorns86 definitely discuss it! With my first little girl I wasn't feeling a regular pattern of movement until around 24/25 weeks, it can depend on a few things such as where your placenta is positioned. Mine was at the front so it cushioned alot of the movements, meant a few trips being strapped to a monitor in hospital but all was ok every time. Good luck xx

Sunshine8888 · 08/12/2019 21:11

Hello, just catching up from beautiful but freezing Vienna! Having a lovely break, home tomorrow eve. Baby has been kicking every day now for past few days now, especially around 11pm. It’s lovely to feel! 20 week scan is on Tuesday so only two more sleeps! And bump has popped at 19+1, I’ve got a maternity band for my jeans and it’s amazing! Can wear all my normal jeans and just pop that on top. Sorry to all those feeling ill, sending healthy vibes x

facevalue · 08/12/2019 23:07

in pregnancy the immune system is suppressed to protect the baby from rejection. so you get recurrent colds or other infections. so yes it is pregnancy related but for a good reason. remember to take the whooping cough vaccine too xxx

woollycat · 09/12/2019 11:10

@november90 mine is definitely a full blown cold. I did have pregnancy rhinitis before the cold started, but this cold is just the worst. 6th day now and it has at least eased off on the throat.
What nasal spray did they prescribe you? I am curious for when the cold ends.
