Been feeling period pain style cramps most of the day, nothing major but just constant 😩 has this quite often early on but it has been a while and I had forgotten how uncomfortable it is!

Caspianberg · 05/12/2019 08:29

@Sunshine8888 - we live fairly close to Vienna. Its pretty chilly right now. Was -3.5 outside this morning, its about -8 if you go higher up.

So, had my 20 week scan today. All was good. Measuring 20 week 4days and 95-99% on everything so its a 'chunky monkey' according to doctor! and ... Its a BOY!

Been told we have an organ screening test here also between 22-24 weeks approx. Waiting for date. Do you have this in Uk? and if so what do they check exactly? Also have another scan and blood glucose test also booked for end of January which apparently takes up to 2hrs as its fasting, then gradual drink and food given and re-tested. It feels like I get checked very regularly.

facevalue · 05/12/2019 13:28

@sazzlerazzle i could have written this! over night i had period pains but it went away now. i almost got worked up but then reminded myself the uterus is stretching and growing so obviously it will hurt a little! obviously if it's constant and u r worried then obviously speak to the midwife x

sazzlerazzle · 05/12/2019 14:25

@facevalue I’ve actually just got back from the hospital... I know ligament pain from all the growing etc is normal but I did feel uneasy with how long it’s going on for. Glad yours has gone away now, it’s scary isn’t it!

Called triage and they told me to take paracetamol and if it’s still bad after that, to call again. After a couple of hours it was still hurting and they were so good on the phone - they weren’t worried but said I could go in if I wanted to be checked and although I didn’t want to make a fuss, I couldn’t live with myself if I did nothing and something went wrong.

So, a midwife check up followed by and internal scan with a doctor and everything is fine. Just been told to take painkillers. Heard the heartbeat for the first time which was crazy :)

facevalue · 06/12/2019 07:08

@sazzlerazzle glad everything is ok x

Moongirl10 · 06/12/2019 10:41

Has anyone else had bad skin on their face since they got pregnant? I’ve tried neutrogena spot cream, using a facecloth, using simple wipes and it doesn’t seem to get better. I’ve been like this since September Hmm

woollycat · 06/12/2019 10:52

Had my 16w appointment today, no listening to heartbeat for me 🙁
20w scan is ages away in January, and there is no bump or movement for reassurance.

123Pandy · 06/12/2019 11:03

@woollycat I'm also 16weeks and have a midwife appointment.
Changed hospitals so my next scan is the 20week one in Jan also. I desperately trying to feel the bump for 'flutters' to see if I can feel baby.

Try not to worry ...I'm sure everything is fine 😊

woollycat · 06/12/2019 11:16

@123Pandy thanks! I am hopeless with feeling flutters I think, it needs to be a proper kick for me to register it as a thing 😀 at least that's what I think, we shall see!
I am not that worried really, I think my sickness and horrible cold are keeping my mind busy with other concerns 😂 can't wait for Christmas, I'll have almost 2 weeks off work and can stop worrying about taking sick days for then at least. 2 more weeks to go!

Raindancer411 · 06/12/2019 11:17

As this is my second I already have a bump but I think it's more bloat or where the swelling is my belly is pushing the fat out Grin

Emmacb82 · 06/12/2019 11:34

Ah I’ve found everyone! Totally lost this thread for a few days 🤣
Am not sure if I felt some flutters yesterday, I’ll be 16 weeks tomorrow with second, but it could have been wind 😬 I’m not expecting too as have anterior placenta. Hope everyone doing well x

mintbear · 06/12/2019 13:35

@Moongirl10
From about week 4 my back (from bra strap to neck) has been covered in acne - I really mean covered. Face wasn't as bad but I often had 5-6 big spots. From about 16/17 weeks my face has got much better and my back is now (I'm 19 weeks) starting to clear up.
Be careful of what products you use, I went mad and bought loads as it was so bad but there is an ingredient in most anti spot products Sal.... acid(?) And it's not clear online if you can use this during pregnancy.
I just used my husbands bull dog scrub in the end but to be honest I don't think anything would have shifted it. Good luck

RiaBillie · 06/12/2019 19:59

Any nub experts ?

May2311 · 06/12/2019 21:51

Hi everyone 😊

Hope those that have been feeling rubbish/poorly have started feeling better! Whilst I'm still struggling badly with my back, my cough has started to ease ( I think!).

Hubby and I had lots of laughs tonight talking baby names! We don't know what we are having yet but girls names we have absolutely loads!!! Boys names for some reason or another we were laughing at every single one either of us suggested so god knows that baby will be called if it's a boy!!! It doesn't help that hubby is a teacher so seems to be able to associate all the boys names with the "mischievous kids"!

I know we are fairly early in the journey but has anyone else got a list of names ready yet?

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!! Xx

sazzlerazzle · 06/12/2019 21:53

@facevalue thank you x

Has anyone used belly bands in their previous pregnancies or is using one now? Bump is getting big and I’m wondering if they’re a must have or not.

Helensss · 06/12/2019 22:10

@May2311 We’re finding boys names really hard too! For girls i think we are quite set on Penny, we chose that years ago way before we were even married and it’s stuck😊 What about you? X

facevalue · 06/12/2019 22:21

@sazzlerazzle i didn't use a bump band in my first pregnancy . i do find the over bump trousers comfy. definitely quicker/ bigger bump as second now... no first time mums please don't stress about not growing too fast before your 20 w scan .. goodluck

May2311 · 07/12/2019 07:58

@Helensss ahhh I love Penny!!! Girls names we have 3 faves: Henrietta( Hettie), Peggy and Sybil.

I love all of them but boys names we just don't have the same feeling about yet! Keep waiting for one or 2 to jump out.

PegglePaw · 07/12/2019 10:34

Hi, first time poster on this May 2020 thread.
Second and third baby we are Due twins on the 17th May.
So 17 weeks and feeling horrendous still.
Any other twins there were only two sets in my last due date group x

woollycat · 07/12/2019 14:10

Anyone else here that still doesn't have a bump at all? I might be sliiiightly bigger than before but it's not a real bump.

Caspianberg · 07/12/2019 16:25

Had 20 week scan a few days ago and it's a Boy. Lucky really name wise as have 3-4 potential for boys, and none for girls!

Have a def bump now, but depends on what I am wearing whether people out and about would see.

Purple29 · 07/12/2019 17:42

@woolycat I'm 16+4 and still dont really have a bump, feel a bit bigger but just look like I've been enjoying the mince pies lol 😂

november90 · 07/12/2019 19:11

@RiaBillie I've been quite good with the nub theory! Would you like me to guess yours? :)

@May2311 we are expecting our second big so we have been through a few boys names :) our first is called Felix and we have settled on Beau for this one. We have liked Otis, Robin and Donny in the past. I agree boys names are harder... I suppose you need to decide whether you want to go traditional or a little bit different first :)

november90 · 07/12/2019 19:14

Sorry this is a bit grim but is anyone else suffering with constipation? I had been really badly and it gets to a point where it's been so bad I then have an upset tummy :( I'm on antibiotics at the min which definitely don't help! But what foods are best to help? I'm getting so uncomfortable it's just horrible! I must be going like once a week or something :(
I do get ibs flare ups so the last thing I want to take tablets to help otherwise it'll make it a million times worse 🙈🙈🙈

GinUnicorn · 07/12/2019 19:22

@november90 I had it horribly first time then fruit cravings solved it. Prune juice helps.
