@Moonstone12 @november90 thanks both! I’ve had nothing else since this morning and my friend mentioned that she had this throughout her pregnancy so I’m feeling slightly better but can’t help to worry x I have my private gender scan in 12 days time so hopefully all is well

@Redz2007 I have had spotting on and off, my last was 13 weeks ish and bright red, they sent me for a scan and all was well. I think it can be really normal but always a worry xx

Welcome to the group @Reds2007 Quite a few ladies in the group have had some spotting and bleeds and have been ok. Definitely did the right thing checking in with your midwife though and don’t hesitate to ask for help if it happens again, for your peace of mind more than anything. It’s hard not to worry isn’t it? How are you feeling generally?

@november90 sounds like a proper ordeal! But so glad they’ve got what it is and can get it sorted.

i'm not sick ... no nausea ... but i still can't seems to taste all foods the same. i don't find anything tasty ... even chocolates and crisps 😭

anyone else suffering this?

@sazzlerazzle thank you, I generally feel really good, I’ve Had an easy pregnancy so far apart from tiredness and sciatica flare ups, it’s just the worrying that gets to me, if there’s something to worry about Im sure to worry about it lol xx

@facevalue oh no 😫 could it because of your cold maybe? Food always tastes weird when your nose is blocked.

16 weeks yesterday but still for the all day sick feeling :(

After a few days of feeling baby moving about I haven’t felt anything now for a couple of days. I was hoping I’d start to feel stronger movement 😕 Apart from random aches and pains in my stomach which I assume are ligaments stretching... argh wish I could just relax but it’s been so long since my 12 week scan now and I just keep wondering if everything is ok especially as i don’t seem to be growing much bump wise either

@Sunshine8888 I felt my first proper kick on Friday last week and a bit of movement but then nothing again until last night. I’m currently 19 weeks. Please don’t worry, my midwife told me the movement won’t be regular/noticeable until at least 21 weeks so I’m happy I’m feeling anything at the moment. But if you’re worried, please ring your midwife, don’t let yourself be upset and always trust your instinct.

I know what you mean about the long wait between scans though, it’s feels like forever doesn’t it.

Rant time.
I was finally getting over the nausea when out of nowhere I got this horrific cold. Within the last 12 hours I went from feeling completely normal to having an excruciating sore throat and fever. It's so bad I am struggling to swallow anything and I can't talk 😔 spoke to GP, they confirmed I shouldn't take anything apart from paracetamol and just rest.
I am now back to sick days at work. I havd always been a high performer and I just can't stand how unreliable I have been since pregnant. I had 6 weeks off due to vomiting and now this 🙁

@Sunshine8888 I could have written your message, I feel exactly the same! I’m 17+2 and could feel it last week but don’t seem to be able to this week... and don’t seem to be growing either. When is your 20 week scan? Xx

@woollycat I totally understand. I've been off work with hyperemisis since September. I'm now laid up with a chest infection. Still on antisickness meds although reducing them right down now as hoping to be off them soon.

I've had to come to the conclusion that all we can do is rest. I'm so bored though! I used to work 50/60hr weeks. Lying around isn't for me at all but I physically can't do anything else right now:(

@Moonstone12 thanks for replying, means a lot to me. I am so upset I want to cry, but crying makes my headache worse so I am resisting it. I worry this cold is going to last ages, and I just can't face asking my manager for more sick days 😢 I know it's "just" a cold and in the grand scheme of things it's not the end of the world but I just feel completely weak and about to shred into pieces 😢

@Moonstone12 I hope your chest infection clears up soon, that sounds tough on top of hyperemesis. You seem to be holding up and being reasonable about things, well done! Feel better xxx

Lol @woollycat I'm definitely not holding it together well. I even cried at the gp on Monday. But I think I've realised there's not much I can do about it. I can't bloody breathe properly let alone work 🤣
You'll be ok. But if the cold gets worse go to the GP. I knew on Sunday night I needed to see someone. I literally thought I was going to have to go to hospital at about 3am. Mine started as a cold but I clearly couldn't fight it off well enough.

Hot lemon and honey. And a paracetamol is all

@woollycat i'm sorry u feeling rubbish. i've had this cold for over 3 weeks. one day it feels ok thenby the evening i lose my voice or have congested sinuses. i woke up with a headache at 6AM. took paracetamol a couple of hours ago. glad i had the flu jab and i'm 16+4 and was told time for the whooping cough vaccine now

I had a cold/flu type thing end of September. Here (not uk) they don't recommend paracetamol either anymore so just herbal tea, honey and lemon helped to relieve throat. Was mainly gone after a week.
However, on next check at doctors they said my white bloods cells were high due to them fighting back illness still. So had to have a course of antibiotics.
Maybe something to bare in mind if your still not 100% after a week or so as might want to double check with them if you need antibiotic route also. They just did urine test to find high levels.

Sorry to those who are suffering with illness - I dread catching something! Ive not yet taken any sick days from work and really hoping it can stay that way!

@Helensss I’m 18+4 today. My 20 week scan is on Tuesday so I’m counting down the days. I’m also going to Vienna for a long weekend on Friday so hopefully that will keep me distracted!

Thank you for the reassurance @sazzlerazzle. I keep feeling twinges but they are a little painful so I don’t think that can be baby

@Sunshine8888 - I was in Vienna last weekend. The Christmas markets are lovely.

I have my 16w appointment this Friday, maybe the midwife will also reassure me that life isn't over.

@Caspianberg ooh were you? I’ve never been so I’m looking forward to it. Need to pack warm clothes though, it looks cold!!
