Good luck Lisa x

FloriaTosca · 02/09/2007 16:29

OMG Lisa! Hope all goes ok for both you and LO. Will be thinking about you....lots! Thanks Sparkly Goth for letting us know...please keep us updated.

Buffy isn't in labour but she is in extreme pain from the spd; they wanted to keep her in on bed rest esp. as LOs heart rate was bit low and showed reduced movements but they are putting that down to the fact that Buffy hasn't eaten very much....the tablets they have put her on for the pain are "making me completely out of it" (her words not mine)and making her itch but she has gone home promising to rest . I'll let you know more when I hear it.

sparklygothkat · 02/09/2007 16:30

lisad has just phoned me, she has been discharged to rest. She will no doubt update you all soon

ejt1764 · 02/09/2007 16:31

Thinking of both lisad and buffy ... sparklygothkat, thanks for letting us know about lisa & floria, thanks for keeping us up to date on buffy ... she has to rest ...

ejt1764 · 02/09/2007 16:31

x posted with you there sparkilygothkat - thanks for letting us know ... and tie her to the sofa or something to make her rest!

lisad123 · 02/09/2007 16:51

I see my sister has been updating you. Hmmm what fun that was. LO has fully engaged and so the pain (whihc was unbearable) is more to do with the SPD than labour. The contractions are still there but not regular or strong enough to have any major effect.
MW said its unuasal to be fully engaged this early in second pregnancy as normally wont till in labour! Hope that doesnt mean she's come soon.
I have bene told to rest up and take it easy. I have been told to take my painkillers even though they make me out of it, so i can get some rest. Advised it will only get worse.
Darren is making dinner and then im going to have another bath and rest up in front of tv. Might have to take laptop with me to make sure i miss nothing on here

Lisa

ejt1764 · 02/09/2007 16:55

lisad - you take it easy !!!!

Take the painkillers - even if they do make you feel out of it ... I've been having a lot more spd pain since babe went head down earlier in the week ... I mentioed it to the physio, and she said the reverse of what the mw told you - namely that once the head is engaged, it could well act as a splint on the pelvis, and thereby decrease the pain ...

Try to get some rest ... thinking of you!

LOL @ resting and taking it easy with older children to take care of. Tansiha starts school this week, so hopefully will get some rest then.

ChocolateHobnob · 02/09/2007 17:50

Hi all!

Lisa - take care of yourself! I hope you do manage to rest - be ruthless and just relax.

Buffy, I know you can't read this but hugs to you too - fingers crossed it improves for you!

Monalisa,Tesco had baby deals today too but sounds like Asda's were better... Might have to hit Asda this week!

Nellie - good luck without DH. It must be v tough! Try and sleep as much as you can, and eat easy meals, etc.

Alice, another crap night's sleep? Poor you. I hate not sleeping- it's so frustrating.

Mrs Fish, glad you had good guests but don't listen to scary birth stories - I think it makes everything worse...

We've had a nice day - been in town. Had a 2 for 1 deal at Wagamamas so had lovely noodles for lunch, bought LO some sleepsuits and myself some books (!), then went to visit some friends. Back now and have a chicken roasting in the oven for dinner later. Am still relishing my glider although it's taking up space downstairs, really. Only complaint at the mo is that lo is really low and it feels like its head is butting off my bladder at times - it's not very comfortable! I've got pretty iron pelvic floor muscles and my childhood nickname was Camel because I would go ages and ages without going to the loo (presumably my pelvic floor muscles are soon to be shot by giving birth!!) but these muscles are really being tested.

Anyway GOOD LUCK Lisa and Buffy. Take care everyone else.

j20baby · 02/09/2007 18:48

glad your as ok as can be buffy and lisa.

have stripped my urban detour pram and car seat today, (in between painting) and washed and cleaned it all.

lo seems to have moved up for me, quite difficult to breathe.

have done with painting for the day, its going to need about 5 coats! feeling a bit tired now, and so fed up with my hands aching, wonder if there's anything to relieve carpal tunnel thingy.

have read all the posts but don't have the energy to reply to all, sorry.

am going to chill out watching lord of the rings and wait for dd to get home, we're going out tomorrow with my friend and her dc's to comemerate the cat dying, to the pub, for a little wake should be interesting.

have a nice night all

HI all!

What a weekend for you all

Lisa

Buffy at pain

Well, we went to my friends sons' christening yesterday (rememebr oisin? when I asked how to pronounce it -his!) My friend looks tired but very happy. It was in Romford which took us 3 hrs to get to and 3 hrs back to spend 3hrs there!! We got back at 9pm and Ollie was knackered. Today he was so badly behaved it was unbelievable. We had to get his feet measured as he said his wellies were tight earlier in the week and his feet have grown which means the brand new, still in box school shoes ar enow useless.... We bought them from Oxford and it would cost the shoes in petrol to take them back so anyone know of anyone who'd like a pair of size 8g black school shoes???

We found the car seat we'd like -maxi cosi isofix and the crib -one from mothercare. I think we'll get them next week. I'll be 32 weeks then so don't it's to soon.
I made lemon curd and then promptly fell asleep on the sofa... are so tired now. Hands are puffy and achy, feet are puffy -I am now a member of the elephant foot club and heartburn has now definately stepped up a gear. Dh is off for the week as Ollie starts at nursery school so I intend to sleep a lot.

Anyone heard from Dal at all? I'll text to see if all is okay.

oh, and whoever asked re surnames, I had a very unusual surname and didn't want to lose it as my dad is an only child and my brothers showed no signs of marrying. When dh and I married we doubled barreled and both changed our names. It did confuse my class and loads callled me by my maiden name some called my by my married name and some confused Miss with Mrs...and then my brother went and had 2 children!!!

alicet · 02/09/2007 20:58

OK ladies so I'm absolutely brain dead after another day of sorting through the loft and garage with dh!! Ds unfortunately only slept till 6.30 and it was dh's turn for a lie in (he's not sleeping great either at the mo). butg I went back to bed at 8am when he got up.

Thinking of you lisa and buffy....

And everything else has escaped me. Read through all your posts and intended to reply properly but absolutely nothing sank in and too tired to do it again!!! So sorry lovely ladies - really hope I haven't missed anything important and big hugs to you all...

Just off to have my tea! We had a late lunch about 3.30 today and have been frantically sorting and only just sat down.... Is this nesting??!! But feeling pretty chuffed we have got loads sorted this weekend!

Will hopefully be back and a bit more with it tomorrow....

orangecat · 02/09/2007 21:04

Hi All

Another fairly manic day today - I was there with you J20 with painting. All done now, and went in to order new carpet which can be in before arrival of LO.

Nellie - bloody nightmare re: DH and job. My DH works really long hours, and I find it just about ok to cope with 1, but can't imagine that with a toddler and a newborn (he knows he will have to be home at a reasonable time for at least the first few weeks). I guess there is nothing that can be done, except try and see what help you can garner from friends and family. And we're always here for moral support . I'm also getting completely knackered by 5pm. Loving the weekends when DH can do bedtime.

Lisa - glad things are ok, even though you def now need to rest. It's making things oh so real - in my mind labour is still so far away (hence still no bag packed!). Keep presuming I will be overdue as I was last time...

Mona - I'm in Herts too! In fact, I am going shopping tomorrow (see no bag packed above!) I absolutely can't wait. It's so long since I have had a proper shop - DD shouts 'NO SHOPS' everyt time I go in one, screams to get out of pushchair etc. etc. So I had all but given up on one of my favourite pastimes. Will def. be popping into that Asda...

Choc - I have that bladder thing too. Feels like something is going to fall out at times? Not used to the sensation, as DD was breech most of the time last time. Am I am wee-ing for England.

Potty training seems to have gone ok today - no accidents!! She's still more comfortable at home - wouldn't use potty while out and about, but happily did about 5 wees at home. Saving her poos for her nighttime nappy. But I guess it's early days.

DH going away for 5 days on Thursday. Great timing, huh?! Not only that, but I'll be without laptop too, so no MN for me (and no chance of catching up on everything from this thread .

Got MW appt tomorrow to confirm if baby had turned (I'm pretty sure it did). Then scan on the 13th to find out if I still have a low lying placenta. In my head all is OK - have absolutely no idea what I will do if I have to spend the last 4 weeks in hospital. For one thing, who will look after DD with parents 4 hours away?!! Cross that bridge if I come to it, I guess. No point worrying now

muppetgirl · 02/09/2007 22:14

Hi orange!

I've just finished crotcheting Ollie's blanket for his toys and put it on his bed for when he wakes up He's been wanting one since I he found out the blankets I've been making are for Henry.
Have had a finishing session and now have 2 cot/cotbed blankets and a crib blanket and are currently still working on 2 other crib blankets.

Am really tied now, hope all you ladies get a good nights sleep (and we don't get the bl**dy 'renters' waking us up at 1.00am like they did this morning )

night xx

muppetgirl · 02/09/2007 22:15

...of course I meant tired not tied (that hasn't happen for years!!! )

FloriaTosca · 02/09/2007 22:38

Evening all!
Lisa glad you are home ok...hope you are doing as you were told and resting.
Quite a busy weekend for us...but found time to give the dog a good haircut; it took 3 hours! But at least he won't need doing again until after lo arrives (hopefully)But standing for that length of time really did my back in...Left hip is hell!..I couldn't turn over in bed last night without it waking me and I'm waddling worse than ever...still I've not got spd so I should thank my lucky stars.
Off for consultant and diabetic mw appointments tomorrow morning..lo is very much lower now and I've a feeling deep down that they won't need to be inducing me early, I think I'll be doing it naturally in the none too distant future..(I'm supposed to be going on a hen weekend on the 14th,whats the odds on it happening then?)so when I get back from the hospital I'm going to be shopping for the last things for my hospital bags and getting them packed...well it can't do any harm can it?
Right tomorrow's and early start to get to the hospital for 9.30, so I'd better get to bed and try to get some sleep...good night all

PeckaRolloverAgain · 02/09/2007 23:14

Hey girls, ive been a busy bee making a blog today dedicated to pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding etc

Thread Here

blog here

Do any of you have any piccies I could use?

WriggleJiggle · 03/09/2007 00:13

Hi there, eventually got around to looking for the October thread! Due mid October. Can't wait.

Mona - I think you may live near me?

monalisasmile · 03/09/2007 01:45

Hi to all, hope you enjoyed the weekend. I couldnt get to sleep, so thought I would come on here and get the first post of the day, but no, Wriggle had already beaten me to it! Also this is a good time for me to post cos there's less chance of cross posting with others and missing too much!

Lisa, so relieved to hear that you were discharged from the hosp. I didnt realise that Sparky was your sis - maybe I missed that, or knew but pregnently forgot. How are you feeling? I know the advice to get rest is a bit of a contradiction with ds going back to school this week, but please take it easy. Let me know if you still need steriliser. Im going to Asda today (Monday) for more nappies and will buy one if they have it. My sister lives in Stevenage as well and I can meet you en route if you like. It will be no problem if you dont need it, cos I can just refund it at another date.

Sorry I cant remeber who Buffy's 'buddy' is, but please pass my regards to her also. Im sure it will help her knowing that she is continually in all our thoughts.

Flora, you seem to describe a little of how im feeling in terms of the pain in the legs. I cant believe how acute it can be, and how lying down is the most uncomfortable position for me. I may even start sleeping upright in an armchair if it continues at this rate.

Hi to Wriggle and Orange, quite exciting to think that we may live quite close to each other. I think Lisa lives in Herts as well; might be nice to meet up if weather picks up and if all free.

Ejt, I will e-mail you later today to arrange a 'buddy' if that's ok. You sem to have a sudden influx of new interest - hope it doesnt put you out too much.

Hi and sorry to anyone else I havent mentioned personally. Thinking of everyone and J20, you always seem to be doing SOMETHING and I feel like 'doofer' woman compared to you!

Im so, so excited about this lo's arrival, yet I dont even have any bags packed. Im not sure what im waiting for, but at least leaving it till the very last moment will be a distraction from the contraction pains - when they eventually come on. Not a good strategy, I know, but I feel that by getting all the bags ready will be a signal to my body to set the contractions in motion.

I just remembered that im really peed off cos someone scrathed my new car last night/this morning with what looks like could have been a key. Scratch is on the length of the drivers side from back to front and is too deep for T-cut to disguise. Gonna cost loads, just when I can afford to spend least!

OK im off to have double chocolate ice cream and marshmallows before bed. The rationale being that the ice cream will 'quench' the heatburn i've got! Hmmmmm.

lisad123 · 03/09/2007 08:51

Morning all

Sorry if me and Buffy have made things seem a little too real and close Hopefully LO will hold on a little while longer
I had a bath last night with candles and all and then went off to bed. i still woke about 6 times in the night, and still contracting but feeling ok.
Yep sparkley and misdee are both my big sisters
There seems to be quite a few of us in Herts. Where abouts are you orange and monalisa?? Thanks for the offer of a sterlisier, but a friends offered hers so no worries. Thanks it was very kind.

J20 do you ever stop? I couldnt dream of painting right now, although I really wanted hall, stairs and landing done before LO arrives, i dont think it will happen

No word from LES? Hope shes ok. HUgs to buffy, hope shes ok, im glad they let me home too, hate hospitals.
As you can gues my bags are now all packed Im off to my sisters today as dotn really want to risk being here alone with Tanisha "just in case" .

Morning all. Just spoke to the mw and she is going to see me again on thursday and have another feel. If she thinks he is till breech I should be able to get seen for a scan next wednesday. So at leeast that will be a week earlier than I would have had to wait, so am feeling a bit happier now

Well I managed to have a better nights sleep last night, then again anything is better than waking up every hour for the loo or heartburn relief

Hope you all have a good day

j20baby · 03/09/2007 09:52

Morning all

had an awful night, was up about 5 times to go to the loo and getting mild cramps, then up at 5.30 with my jaw hurting again, also aching and swollen all over from the stupid painting.

lisa-sounds like a good idea for you to not be on your own.

am off for a bath now to try and feel human again, hope you all have a nice day
