Bit cheeky as my due date is May 30th, hope no one minds. Blush

The May group seems quite established. I've been slow to come to back to the Mumsnet fold, did not expect to fall first month trying.

Really excited to hear about all your lovely BFP's and share our pregnancy journeys. Smile

Got my BFP today. Expecting my 2nd. DS was a May '18 baby.

Welcome @cookielove! Sorry about your previous mc Thanks hopefully this will be a smooth and easy pregnancy for you

cookielove · 13/10/2019 11:22

Thank you @LillianFullStop

@Sunsh1ne87 i have had cramps on off for weeks now!! I get more when i am stressed!

Tigger83 · 13/10/2019 12:42

Had some brown spotting had a reassurance scan and the little heart beat was there so just hoping it stays that way. It's so bloody nerve wracking.

DeviousBrie · 13/10/2019 13:02

I get those cramps, that feel like period is coming, often in evenings. And of course run to toilet and check for blood... 7+4 today. I have mw appt in a week's time, and my first scan would be just over 10 weeks with NIPT test.

Whatnext11 · 13/10/2019 15:04

Hi @lillianfullstop I would recommend the nausea bands, i think i've only been sick once wearing them, though the nausea is still there. I just went on Amazon - called medigrade anti nausea bands, mine were about £4. Shame you couldn't enjoy your nice meal out. I can't imagine ever going out for a meal again!!

Sunsh1ne87 · 13/10/2019 18:00

How far along are you? Good luck for your scan x

TwittleBee · 14/10/2019 06:53

Hi all! Hope you don't mind me hoping aboard! Got my BFP this morning and my due date is 22nd June.

Feeling bloody nervous as have had a MC, MMC and my son died at 5 days old in July this year. We do have a wonderful 2 year old already.

cookielove · 14/10/2019 08:15

So sorry to hear of your losses @TwittleBee xx
Fx for a sticky one

AttenburyEmeralds · 14/10/2019 12:19

Hello! I'm diving in, if that's ok, as I'm freaking out a bit and thought I might find some sympathy here. I just got a BFP today, and I am so thrilled. I'm also worried: despite taking literally years to conceive DC1, I seem to have fallen pregnant our first cycle trying this time. I've had one period since DC2, and now : WHAM! I had a miscarriage before DC2, so that combined with how long it took to get a positive (I thought I ovulated 3 weeks ago but maybe not) makes me worry this won't stick. This sort of thing doesn't happen to us (but it could...?!)

Anyway, everything crossed, and hope I can hold out at least a couple more weeks before booking a scan... EDD mid/end of June.

Someone up thread wondered if 2y7m would be a good age gap - I have about that between my first 2 and it's been brilliant. #1 was toilet trained, in nursery free hours for most of the newborn stage, talking, and is so helpful. I worried they might not be close but they adore each other.

Also: eek! Can't believe I'm here Grin

TwittleBee · 14/10/2019 16:14

Do we have a rollcall going yet or still pretty early days? (previous threads I have set up a Google Doc that seemed to be pretty popular until we all moved to facebook)

hi @AttenburyEmeralds welcome to you too!

lettersbyowl · 14/10/2019 19:29

Hi all, got my BFP a couple of weeks ago and am due early June!! First pregnancy and I'm so worried and excited so it's lovely to find you all!! Have got early scan this weekend and cannot wait to know how things are progressing Smile

MissisBee · 14/10/2019 20:39

@TwittleBee I don't think we have one yet, but not a bad idea. We had a spreadsheet on my last group which helped keep track of who's who. I wouldn't know where to start to set one up though!

MilsCookie · 15/10/2019 09:42

Welcome and congrats @AttenburyEmeralds ! How are you feeling?

So I’m still in India guys and I think the dreaded Delhi belly has got me. I’m terrified that having diarrhoea is going to be harmful to my little seed (feels too early to call it a baby!) Does anyone have any advice? Luckily for this part of the trip we’re in a nice hotel with a pool, so we’re just spending today relaxing (and so I can run to the toilet whenever I need to 🙈🥴) I’ll be 6 weeks tomorrow.

Also I read another post on a different thread about someone having their 12 week scan to find there was nothing there. How can this happen? I thought you would know if you’d lost the baby because you would bleed? Sorry if I sound naive and really sorry if anyone has had to go through this. 💕 I’m just so worried this is going to happen to me 😭

TwittleBee · 15/10/2019 10:15

Okay well I have set one up - hope it works! Everyone can start filling it in, if your EDD is taken, just insert a row below so we can keep all EDD together (if that makes sense?)

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PtezYcoB81JuGrfRoDjoPQoeFHrgko-s-smZZDtXtQ8/edit?usp=sharing

Thank you @cookielove

@lettersbyowl ah welcome, how exciting - 1st pregnancy.

That is what happened to me in Dec last year, it is called a Missed Miscarriage (MMC) @MilsCookie - your body doesnt always realise the baby has died and so will continue the pregnancy, morning sickness and all.

AttenburyEmeralds · 15/10/2019 16:02

Thank you @TwittleBee I'm so sorry for your losses - I hadn't read the thread properly when I posted, and I should have.

I don't have an EDD yet due to wonky periods, so I've added myself at the earliest possible guess & will probably move once we get a scan. I really want to book one, but have to wait. I keep thinking I'm a patient person, but I'm so not at this point. I don't have any symptoms, apart from maybe a little cramping, but that's fairly normal for me.

@MilsCookie a MMC is really shit, but it's not that likely. I appreciate this is little comfort, and it's exactly what I'm worrying about (well, apart from just a straightforward MC). If you can get a private scan, and see a heartbeat, then statistically your odds of having a miscarriage drop a lot. If you're in (or going through) a fairly large city, I'm sure you can find a reputable doctor to perform one - you can always ask on expat boards if you don't have family or friends locally to ask for recommendations. There also aren't that many things that can cause a miscarriage - basic food poisoning (salmonella e.g.) isn't one of them although it feels awful. I found 'Expecting Better' very helpful as it's written by an economist by looking at what the actual research behind the recommendations is (e.g. alcohol / coffee / raw eggs / etc). Hope you feel better soon!

MissisBee · 15/10/2019 17:03

Just updated myself on the spreadsheet.
@MilsCookie make sure you keep yourself well hydrated, for yourself as much as your bean.
I second "Expecting Better", best pregnancy book I read.

MilsCookie · 15/10/2019 18:51

Thank you @AttenburyEmeralds and @MissisBee I’m definitely going to try and get a scan when I reach Sydney in about 3-4 weeks. By then I’ll be 9-10 weeks so hoping to see a healthy developing bean!! I’ll look into ‘Expecting Better’ - I’m obsessed at the moment with reading everything about pregnancy! Are there any other books you’d recommend?

MilsCookie · 15/10/2019 18:54

@TwittleBee I’m so so sorry for your losses. I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like. As this is my first pregnancy I’m almost half expecting to have a mc as I can’t believe I would be so lucky for it to stick. Fingers crossed for us all that we have sticky little beans! 🌈 💫 xxx

TwittleBee · 16/10/2019 10:28

@AttenburyEmeralds I have always caved and had an early scan! Cannot wait to have it confirmed!

@MilsCookie thank you x

Having been part of these boards a good few times before, what I will say is usually we see many women either actively say they have had a MC or we never hear from them again in the first few months - each time it has probably been around 20% mark, so a little lower than the expected 1 in 4 pregnancies to end in loss.

I'm not holding my breath for sticking about but we will see in due time I guess!

Jeez, sorry to be a party pooper - I guess I just find it hard to be only excited and hopeful now.

How is everyone's symptoms? I have had morning sickness and boob ache kick in already (only 4+2! so pretty early!)

MissisBee · 16/10/2019 10:33

I'm feeling pragmatic, more so than anxious, that things may not work out this time. I've been lucky to conceive quickly both times, but I'm 35 now, so a bit higher risk. Just hoping that if anything does go wrong, it doesn't until next week as we're on holiday at the minute. Sore boobs, but not a lot else to report. Hoping the nausea stays away for a bit longer too, it hit at around 6 weeks last time.
5+1

AttenburyEmeralds · 16/10/2019 14:48

@TwittleBee yes, me too! I'd rather know. I need to wait a couple more weeks though for that even, boo. I'm finding it hard to just be relaxed & excited. It feels like there's a lot we need to do before the baby comes... but only if there's going to be a baby, so it's a waiting game for now.

@MilsCookie I read loads of pregnancy / parenting books, and the style I like are the ones that give you options (e.g. 'tips for breast feeding p7, tips for bottle feeding p8') rather than give you a plan to follow ('baby will have their first feed between 06:12-06:19...') as mine never did do what they were 'supposed' to. I liked the Mumsnet books (Pregnancy / Babies / Toddlers) although I don't know if they might be a bit out of date now, Expecting Better and the follow up Cribsheets, The Baby in the Mirror, First Time Parents, and The Positive Birth Book. This last is about making whatever birth you have as positive as possible, and I found it useful when my plans had to change due to concerns about DC2 at the last minute. There's loads out there, so you'll find something that suits your style for sure.

Tentativesteps133 · 16/10/2019 15:35

Hi all

I'd love to join, got a faint BFP at 5am on Sunday morning (woke DH up as I'd been up since 3 wanting to test) then a definite line this morning. Going by LMP my EDD will be June 20th but I have long-ish cycles so expect something like 22nd/23rd from the scan. I'll be getting an early scan in a few weeks as 12 weeks seems so far away!

We have one DD who will be 2 in December so excited to see what a summer baby is like. I luckily had an easy ride last pregnancy with no MS so hoping for the same this time...

MamaPeas · 16/10/2019 19:21

Just thought I'd drop in with the link to the Facebook group that's up and running in case anyone missed it. Sorry I've not been on here much as pregnancy plus toddler is taking it out of me. Congrats to all the lovely new BFP's. Be great to see you guys over there when you are ready.

I think I will hold off from joining the facebook page for a while, found it hard to leave the other facebook groups when things have gone wrong.

welcome to the group Tentativesteps133 !

Nukins · 17/10/2019 21:24

I feel the same. Think I'll wait a while too!
