Bit cheeky as my due date is May 30th, hope no one minds. Blush

The May group seems quite established. I've been slow to come to back to the Mumsnet fold, did not expect to fall first month trying.

Really excited to hear about all your lovely BFP's and share our pregnancy journeys. Smile

Got my BFP today. Expecting my 2nd. DS was a May '18 baby.

@Anny27 - they tend to do external ones first, no matter how early you are (I have had scans at 6 weeks) and if they cannot get a clear enough picture they then attempt with an internal. Hope that helps

couchroastpotato · 21/10/2019 17:32

@Anny27 it was an external, just make sure to drink plenty before and they should be able to pick up baby 😊 I have a tilted womb which would normally make it harder but they could still see pretty easily x

Anny27 · 21/10/2019 17:49

Thanks @couchroastpotato and @twittlebee :D looking forward to it to give me a little bit more reassurance

Hello all,

Mind if i join you? My EDD I think isnt til 30th June so I may well be better off in a July group? but there isn’t one yet (probably a bit early!) and I got my BFP 3 days ago and feel like I’m going a bit mad and need some like minded folks who are in the same headspace as me to chat with!! My period isn’t even due til tomorrow but I just felt really odd the last few days and was having really strong reactions to smells so did a test on Saturday morning and got a BFP straight away! Have done another 3 or 4 since then just to be sure! WinkConfused

This will be no 2 for me if it sticks, I have a nearly 2 and a half year old so feel like I’m going into this waaaay more knackered then last time! Grin The MN thread I was on last time throughout pregnancy was just brilliant and definitely kept me sane!

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well and not feeling too awful. Need to catch up with the thread properly but good luck to all those having early reassurance scans soon. I had one last time and definitely hope to have one again this time if it continues to be a sticky one.

Also I am starting to feel nauseous already which is definitely way earlier than last time. Anyone else feel sick so early?!

Aw I always imagined I’d tandem feed @hannahs87 but my daughter has pretty much self weaned over the last month or so . My boobs are killing me, but probably as much to do with that as pregnancy! I always thought feeding through pregnancy would be a great way to get a bit of a sit down now and then though Grin

Welcome and congratulations to all newcomers.

I had another scan yesterday and the added another day. So pregnancy is dated almost a whole week before my last af, that lasted 8 days started. I don't know why I forget to ask why, how and if it is a bad sign. At least baby had a nice heart beat.

Hello all! Newcomer here, looks like I’m due 21st June and in complete shock 😱.
I have a 3 year old from IVF round 2 but have never conceived naturally, not once in my 6 years of trying. (We’re currently on the NHS waiting list for a free round of IVF!) I’m the person who tests every month just before my expected period to see the negative so I can silence the voices in my head, I really did not expect to see the positive!!
Cramps, bloating, huge boobs and nausea so far, I was sick the entire first time and really hoping if this sticks that it won’t be as bad.
Got an appointment with my GP tomorrow to get things going,
5 weeks + 2

Kajlo · 22/10/2019 13:18

Hello everyone - I'm due 23 June (possibly) - though likely to be end of May as I'm probably getting gestational diabetes again. Happened with DD in November '16. So excited though! She has poked my belly for ages and asked if there's a baby in it! (Not telling her yet though - or everyone will know) Grin

TwittleBee · 22/10/2019 15:06

@Notnowokay could be one of three things maybe; 1) that AF was implantation bleeding, 2) early scans are wildly inaccurate (my dates hopped about all over the place with previous pregnancies) or, 3) your baby is maybe measuring ahead slightly, it can happen - everyone is different (my first son ended up measuring ahead). I wouldnt worry though, dates meaning youre further ahead I have always taken as a good sign, it is the times my due dates have been pushed back that things have gone wrong. If the sonographer had no concerns then I wouldnt worry. Good luck

@marmitecheesetoast I had a wave of sickness whilst out jogging on Sunday but beyond that, nothing yet! Really hoping I can avoid it this time as it was so bad last time I lost 1 stone in 1st trimester, tipping my BMI into underweight!

@Legendsonly ah how lovely of a surprise! That actually happened to a friend of mine btw, 1st child no luck until a few rounds of IVF but then her 2nd child she surprisingly conceived naturally.

@Kajlo welcome to you too!

I have no real updates, just really stressing out at how long of a journey ahead we have and how much could go wrong. We have decided we wont tell our son (aged 2) he is going to be a brother again until this baby actually comes home, unless of course he queries my belly but I carried so small last time (despite having a baby on the 75th centile!) that I am hoping to hide it from him.

TwittleBee · 22/10/2019 15:07

Oh and btw, for the newcomers - there is a Google Sheets doc upthread that you can input your data in! and we are also signing off with how far along we are (I forgot above hah!)

marmitecheesetoast · 22/10/2019 15:26

Wow that must have been a surprise @Legendsonly! Congratulations! And to all other newcomers!

Impressed you were out jogging @TwittleBee! I’m feeling less nauseas today (although now of course worrying that I’m feeling less nauseous!) I have a 2 year old as well. Totally understand why you’d not want to say anything this time, must be so difficult.

I’m just wondering when to ring the midwifes to self-refer (that’s what you do in this area rather than seeing GP) I’m thinking 4 weeks might be a bit early so maybe will wait til next week?

Will see about adding myself to Google docs sheet, I’ll be right at the bottom!

TwittleBee · 22/10/2019 15:28

@marmitecheesetoast well I have a half marathon planned in March, fundraising in memory of my son so I feel like I have to continue with it!

I would phone them up at 5 weeks maybe? Dont want to leave it too late and struggle to be seen for the 8 week app?

marmitecheesetoast · 22/10/2019 15:36

@TwittleBee Oh what a lovely thing to do, and how amazing are you!
Yes, thanks think I’ll ring next week when I’m 5 weeks. Getting a BFP so early makes this time drag even more!!

MilsCookie · 22/10/2019 17:16

Welcome and congrats to @marmitecheesetoast @Kajlo @Legendsonly !! How are you all feeling?

@marmitecheesetoast when I first found out I was pg (was around 4 + 5) I had such bad nausea and couldn’t eat anything without it making me feel sick. That only lasted for about a week and now I feel fine!! Just motion sickness when I’m in a car! Hoping it stays this way haha.

6 + 6

Legendsonly · 22/10/2019 18:56

Thanks for the welcome! @MilsCookie I’m slowly getting a bit more excited each day, but I need to see that heartbeat before I can let myself fully believe it, I’m sure you’re all the same. I was a bit spoilt with appointments and scans the first time because it was IVF so I don’t know what to expect this time around. But I am definitely a lot calmer than the last time, what will be will be, at least I know we can conceive now!!

MissisBee · 22/10/2019 19:32

Welcome new folks! 6 weeks today and feeling quite pukey. I also have a 2 year old - not planning on telling him anytime soon, not that he'd understand anyway!

TwittleBee · 22/10/2019 21:17

Thank you @marmitecheesetoast - hoping I can pull it off haha. I hate running!

Hopefully you'll have a very straight forward pregnancy @Legendsonly too. The NHS website gives a pretty good run down of what to expect in a straight forward pregnancy.

I don't know @MissisBee , I think you'll be surprised! It did seem like our 2 year old understood.

Getting tired in the afternoon now, remember the early nights from around 5 weeks till 2nd trimester last time! Goodbye evenings 😂

MilsCookie · 22/10/2019 22:22

@Legendsonly that’s amazing - what an incredible feeling to have conceived naturally after thinking you couldn’t! wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy! 💫 😊

@TwittleBee oh my goodness the tiredness. I am like a zombie between about 6-8pm. But then I seem to get a second wind from somewhere and my energy comes back again just before the end of the day haha! 😁

Anyone else’s boobs REALLY sore?! Particularly when you stand up after lying down (I.e. first thing in the morning?) 🤔😖 ouchy!! Always had quite small boobs so actually quite excited about them growing 😂 not excited about this pain though!! 🙈😂

MilsCookie · 22/10/2019 22:24

P.s. @TwittleBee forgot to add- good luck with the half marathon training! A great thing to do and stay fit while pg! 💫

7 + 0 (forgot last time 😁)

Anny27 · 22/10/2019 23:08

TwittleBee · 23/10/2019 10:04

Added you in @Anny27 - i think a few people have difficulties editing on their phones.

Happy to edit anyone else in as on my laptop all day.

@MilsCookie yes to the boobs! oh my! my boobs went from a size A to a DD by time I was 28 weeks pregnant last time, so guessing they will again as theyre killing!

MilsCookie · 23/10/2019 12:06

@TwittleBee glad it’s not just me! 🙈 but sorry yours are painful too! We’re in this together haha!

On another note, how bloody awful is de-caf tea?! Envy I’m allowing myself three cups of ‘proper’ tea a day, spread out throughout the day as honestly don’t think I could cope on anything less. Especially as I’m still waiting for my 2.5 year old to ‘sleep through the night’ ! Grin

DeviousBrie · 23/10/2019 12:41

Anyone else got fitbit? My resting heart rate went up when I first knew pregnant. It's now (last week) gone down, but still up what it's normally. I have 2 mc so I'm bit anxious I admit. 😳

Blizy · 23/10/2019 12:48

Hi, can I board the bus?
I got by BFP on Monday, I think I'm around the 5 week mark?
This is my 3rd pregnancy, unfortunately my first ended with a stillbirth, I have a 4 year old ds and been ttc for almost 4 years, I'd given up hope as was told I could only conceive with IVF due to endometriosis.
I very cautiously excited and terrified!

MissisBee · 23/10/2019 12:59

@marmitecheesetoast I think it depends on the brand of tea. Definitely takes some getting used to, I find you need to brew it a bit longer too
