I have but baby is really low and so it sometimes feels uncomfrotable, it does reduce the bump soreness tho

Kitten22 · 29/09/2019 21:07

Hi guys,

How many weeks are you now? I'm 24 weeks tomorrow.
Is anyone else getting random strong Braxton hicks? It was gone for a few weeks and returned today keeps coming hourly since a few hours ago. Quite annoying coz I have to stop what I'm doing to take deep breaths. No pain of course but strong tightenings

Kinsters · 30/09/2019 01:33

I've got a belt and it makes a big difference to how easily I can walk. It's not comfortable to wear but preferable to not being able to walk properly so I put up with it.

karryk · 30/09/2019 05:57

@SleepingStandingUp @Kinsters thanks - have ordered one so here's hoping!

@Kitten22 I'm 25w4d no braxton hicks yet...I did get them earlier last time, usually when I'd overdone it...bit surprised they haven't struck this time! I found lying d own and having a bit of a chill out used to help ease them...that and drinking water

WatchingTheMoon · 30/09/2019 06:32

Anyone else have a weird discomfort in their ribs? I feel like something is digging into me the whole time, it's so hard to get comfortable.

Kinsters · 01/10/2019 03:57

Karryk how can you tell a Braxton hick apart from a regular contraction? I haven't felt anything like that yet but just wondering!

WatchingTheMoon is the baby pushing it's feet into your ribs or something?

I'm so stressed. I just turned up at my new office (internal transfer) and contrary to what I was told at my previous office, applying for maternity leave when I get to the new office is not ok!! I feel like I've screwed up all of their plans for what they wanted me to do and the next three months are going to be insanely busy and stressful which is what I really don't want right now. I feel so stupid for not insisting that I put my application in ages ago, I told head office HR months ago but they just brushed it off. The standard maternity leave in Malaysia is 3 months and I don't know if I'll be able to get any more than that and keep my job (I wanted to take an additional 6 month career break to give 9 months maternity leave in total). So hormonal and tired from being up all night being sick and cats running all over the place (keeping them in our room as we've moved house). Is it the weekend yet?!

splishandsplash · 01/10/2019 05:39

Can anyone advise if they too are having pains in their tummy? But it feels like growing pains? Really sharp :/

WatchingTheMoon · 01/10/2019 06:25

kinsters not sure what the pain is, but of course today, when I'm on my way to the hospital, there is no pain at all! Typical!

Sorry your move has been difficult. It's hard when the maternity leave is so abysmal (I get none). It can be so frustrating in many Asian countries because just ignoring problems is so often the norm - my husband does it too and it drives me mad. On the contrary, he thinks I'm too obsessed with planning ahead.

Kinsters · 01/10/2019 07:56

None, oh wow, that's terrible. What're you going to do? Take unpaid leave?

Yes to the ignoring the problem! My husband was brought up in the UK and doesn't do this which I'm thankful for, we both see it a lot in our work though and it's so annoying. At least I should be able to take my laptop home and do overtime from bed so I can be sort of comfortable - I forgot how uncomfortable it gets sitting all day after having three lovely weeks off!

Kinsters · 01/10/2019 07:57

splishandsplash could it be round ligament pain? I think I get that sometimes and the pain can be really sharp. Do call your midwife if you're worried though - hopefully they can reassure you.

WatchingTheMoon · 01/10/2019 08:29

kinsters I'm freelance, but even full time workers only get 3 months and it's something ridiculous, like 500 pounds a month. Hard to believe Korea is a developed country sometimes tbh, they have worse workers' rights than most of the middle east and less developed Asian countries.

We're just going to live off my husband's wage, thankfully it's possible in Korea, it's not expensive to live here as long as you have a pretty chill lifestyle.

Not even sure if I'm going to go back to my job or not, I'd like to build up my own business but obviously that might be impossible with a baby!

Chuchu14 · 03/10/2019 15:51

I'm suffering with SPD @splishandsplash
But this week have had horrid pain in the top of my bump. Think it's just muscles and and growing pains. Awful though Sad

SleepingStandingUp · 03/10/2019 19:07

I feel you Chu, I'm getting such pain at the top where it feels like they're gonna pop out the top!

Chuchu14 · 05/10/2019 09:41

@SleepingStandingUp you have my biggest sympathy its horrid. I was in such pain this week I went to be checked and they have said I have some muscles separation and possibly a small hernia.... no wonder it hurts and is so tender especially when baby moves and starts to kick that exact spot!! Hope you're feeling better soon x

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 05/10/2019 18:17

Hi all, this thread had randomly dropped off my 'I'm on' list so missed lots of updates

24 weeks here and getting quite a bit of pain under my right rib cage @WatchingTheMoon . I had this with my first baby who was breech and spent quite a lot of time with his head wedged under my ribs Shock (Even when he came out, he liked to sleep with his head against the bars of his cot!). Wondering if the twin on my right is pulling the same trick!

I took DS to the pool today and it was lovely being in the water, it takes the bump weight right off you for an hour or so. Welcome relief!

jenface · 06/10/2019 11:15

Thinking ahead here, but all the same... Has anyone figured out what they will do for Christmas this year? I'm due to be induced first week of January and family are a two hour drive away. I'm tempted to play the pregnancy card and just have Christmas at home with my husband and I. His family are quite gathering orientated and don't seem to think this is reasonable. Has anyone else run into Christmas logistics yet? Happy Sunday all!

SleepingStandingUp · 06/10/2019 14:10

@lifesnotaspectatorsport I was wondering where you'd gone fellow twin Mama and was hoping you were OK.
@jenface how would you feel about them coming to you but them doing all the work? Otherwise I'd not be seeing them. If you go early, do you want to be delivering at their local hospital? I'd def not do it this year

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 06/10/2019 16:28

Aw @SleepingStandingUp thanks for thinking of me! How are things going with you? Have you decided on your boys' names yet - there were some great suggestions on your baby names thread.

@jenface We had to cancel a planned trip back to U.K. for Xmas as I'll be too big to fly. Must admit, the thought of having people over isn't appealing either. By the last few weeks of my pregnancy with DS, all I wanted to do was laze around in my PJs. Even getting dressed was pretty uncomfortable with the bump so big. Enjoy your last couple of weeks to chill and be together as a couple is my advice!

SleepingStandingUp · 06/10/2019 17:20

I'm in Gabriel and Castiel atm but who knows what will happen haha
How about you? Any names? Are they growing good?

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 07/10/2019 10:12

We're thinking Elowyn for the girl. Possibly Cadoc for the boy but not sure. There's still time to come up with more ideas but we feel like we've gone through every baby boy name in existence!

I've got another scan on Weds but they've been growing well up to now, same size as a singleton pregnancy and only 2% difference between them (girl is slightly bigger).

SleepingStandingUp · 07/10/2019 10:19

Oh Elowyn is really pretty, Cadoc is cool, boys are so hard aren't they?

Felinewoman · 11/10/2019 07:30

Hello all! I'd like to join this group. Due 25.01.2020 with a girl :-)

karryk · 11/10/2019 11:40

Welcome @Felinewoman Grin

laceywallington1 · 11/10/2019 15:57

Hi. I'm due 31st January. I'm not sure whether to say I'm due January or February? I think I've been told first babies are normally late.

Lyssa91 · 11/10/2019 19:10

Does anyone else have super sore ribs? Baby boy loves to play under my right ribcage. Leaving me feeling sore to the touch and bruised
