@happydays00 difficult one I would prefer nice normal vbac. Then second choice induction and last choice c section. I don’t want the recovery time you get with a c section but honestly it’s whatever will be best for the little one!

Stroan · 06/08/2019 13:34

Had a growth scan and clinic appointment this morning. Baby has jumped way above the 95th percentile (estimated at nearly 8lbs...) despite my blood sugars being low and losing weight. Between that and the worries over my mental health, they've rebooked my C-section for next Friday. I'll be 37+2.

Oh wow at all these dates coming through! Kind of wish i had a date. Dd wants to know why the hospital wont tell me when the baby will be born. She doesnt accept they dont know. Tbh i dont think she has forgiven them for messing up her order of 'a sister' again...

kyles101 · 06/08/2019 13:44

Dates are very exciting! I feel like once I've seen this week through I can start to get actually excited!

My boss had a change of heart today and said he actually didn't want me to ring in, or for anyone to be ringing me unless it was an emergency - everyone would just have to get on and figure things out themselves. So relieved I could have cried!!

@IVEgottheDECAF that's so funny about dd, bless her!

Megan2018 · 06/08/2019 13:46

Oh @Stroan so pleased you have been given a date. The stress is nearly over. How exciting!!

Karigan195 · 06/08/2019 13:54

@Stroan. This one coming? That’s so soon. How exciting.

Stroan · 06/08/2019 14:13

@kyles101 so glad your boss has seen sense! It was bonkers (and possibly illegal!) to expect that of you unless he was paying you to do work.

@karigan195 next week, the 16th. I had an initial date booked for the 29th but everyone agreed that would be too much for me to handle. I feel so unwell all the time (I describe it as feeling like I've just drank a bottle of wine in 15 minutes while sitting in the sun) and that's having too much impact. Plus, big baby again.

You know you are having a big baby when the sonographer is shocked by the size of your bump...

@ivegotthedecaf at least she isn't blaming YOU for the lack of a sister!

@Stroan that’s great that the date has been brought forward to next Friday - hang on in there - you can do it! Xx

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/08/2019 14:32

That is true Stroan!

Exitstrategist · 06/08/2019 14:33

Woah it’s all getting really real here with some people finding out their dates!

Re maternity allowance- I applied on 20th June- more than 6 weeks ago. Despite the initial text, have received no more info. Have tried to call but end up on hold for more than an hour! Anyone have any luck yet?

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/08/2019 14:34

exit i phoned i think last weds and they were dealing with claims recieved on 12th June. What date did you get your text?

boodles101 · 06/08/2019 15:11

Forget my earlier post, attempted a nap while DS was asleep and girl twin headed straight for my ribs. How these 2 have any room to be moving up and down is beyond me. I'm so over this now!

DustyDoorframes · 06/08/2019 16:16

@Stroan oh my!!! That's brilliant news! I cannot believe how much this pregnancy has thrown at you. Is it nice to know the end is in sight?
And @happydays00 is your section due on the 15th? You two are going to be trailblazers in the postnatal thread!
@kyles101 GOOD re your boss. Glad he's coming to his senses!
I'm still only 32+1, I'm lagging well behind here!

Florencenotflo · 06/08/2019 16:19

So exciting that some of you have dates!!

I think... I'm going to ask for an elcs when I see the mw tomorrow. Or at least how I go about asking for one. I was given the option by the consultant but decided VBAC, but I've had enough. We went shopping this morning to get the very last few bits, bags are packed. I'm just exhausted. I'm not sleeping, pretty much constant BH and stomach pains (which are completely normal apparently). The heartburn is ridiculous. I just want to feel a bit more like me again. I'm moody and grumpy with dd, she doesn't deserve this.

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/08/2019 16:53

Florence i so get what you mean, i am too tired to do anything fun with the DC and my SPD means we arent even getting out of the house much, i kind of feel like if i had baby at 37 weeks then i could have a week or so in recovery and then i will be more able to do things

Exitstrategist · 06/08/2019 16:56

Thank you for replying! Received the text on 22nd June so hopefully will hear back in the next week or so

Stroan · 06/08/2019 17:14

@florencenotflo I get you. Honestly, the impact on DD was one of my key arguments this morning - I want to move on so she can get her mummy back. Fingers crossed you get a positive response. This stage is just SO hard and you are doing so well.

@dustydoorframes it feels good. So much more achievable and a huge weight has lifted. Almost all of my resentment towards the pregnancy (and baby if I am really honest) has just gone and I feel like I can start to think about him as a baby and get excited. I feel like I've just moaned on here non-stop for about 8 months, you'll all be as desperate for the end as I am Grin

OP posts:
Florencenotflo · 06/08/2019 17:27

Everyone is doing amazing, sorry for the pity party above. I really shouldn't moan, I've had it a lot easier than a lot of you have!

I think as well it's playing on my mind that DH is away from 12th Sept - 16th Sept. it's for work and can be cancelled, but I know he really doesn't want to. It's taken him 2 years to get on this course and is all he needs to go for promotion in the new year. We are lucky that we have plenty of support around us, but I have this little voice in the back of my mind telling me this baby needs to be out by my due date to give me the best chance of recovery before he goes away for 5 days.

I think if that wasn't in the distance I'd be hanging onto the idea of a VBAC, because it wouldn't matter if I went overdue. At least with a c section I'd know when!

happydays00 · 06/08/2019 17:44

@DustyDoorframes yes, the 15th 😬😬😬 still in denial, which I really need to stop because that is really the latest the baby will be here. It could be sooner

@Stroan - we're just a day apart!! Do you feel like you've got some light at the end of the tunnel? I'm so glad they bought the date forwards for you!

@Karigan195 - I was totally with you - if someone could have guaranteed me an undramatic vaginal birth I'd have 100% opted for that!

Hsunshine · 06/08/2019 17:51

@TheCraicDealer @Megan2018 that’s happened with me on movements too, hardly moves in the day now just at night or when I lie down. Hops said not to worry too much as long as still moving enough at night

Last time I saw the midwife it was so embarrassing I was explaining the baby doesn’t move in the day time anymore and he started moving so much she could see it...

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 06/08/2019 18:51

So having been in bed all day / rushing to loo to vomit, we’ve now lost power to our house (and it’s just our house by the looks of it). Fucking brilliant.

I’m really aching all over - should I take some paracetamol? Temp 37.8 so not high high, but feeling pretty crap. Not managed to eat anything today. Baby is moving fine.

Stroan · 06/08/2019 19:29

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri I would. It should bring down the temp a little too?

What a nightmare with the power, hope it's back on soon

OP posts:
happydays00 · 06/08/2019 20:03

Oh @BridgetJonesDaiquiri it never rains, it only pours hey?! I would definitely take some paracetamol to try and bring the temp down. Sips of fluid or sucking on ice cubes to try and keep hydrated. Really hope you feel better soon

Fortheloveofscience · 06/08/2019 20:09

Lots of good news here. stroan I’m so pleased you’re feeling more positive you’ve had such a crazily hard pregnancy it’s great it’s coming to an end so you can enjoy your baby.

BridgetJonesDaiquiri I’d definitely take some paracetamol. Good that baby’s moving well are you managing to keep fluids down? If you’re at all worried you’re getting dehydrated you should call a doctor.
