Great news @happydays00 fingers crossed for an easier week.

@fortheloveofscience wow! You put me to shame. I went out for a coffee and managed to stay out of bed for a few hours.

Crikey @Fortheloveofscience - think you've earned a rest! Make sure you look after yourself. If I did all that I'd be passing out and/or throwing up!!

Whisky2014 · 04/08/2019 21:58

@fortheloveofscience bloody hell, take care of yourself! That's a lot to have done.

Right so tonight I started perineal massage. It was sore, had to get husband to do it cause I can't reach! My vagina is very tight. Sex can be very uncomfortable for me and I'm so worried about tearing. We used a lot of lube and still it felt really uncomfortable :/ I'm scared!

kyles101 · 04/08/2019 22:20

@Fortheloveofscience I'm tired just reading all of that!!

@Whisky2014 dh and I were watching how to YouTube's the other day - just need to get round to starting Confused

Whisky2014 · 04/08/2019 22:22

I thought it was from 36 weeks but seems like it should be from 32. I've lost valuable stretching time!

kyles101 · 04/08/2019 22:24

Whaaat, no, I'm sure where I read about it was saying 35 or 36 weeks too, not before. 32 weeks seems early!

Megan2018 · 04/08/2019 22:32

I’ve had hideous swollen feet for a couple of weeks, by BP and urine is fine and consultant said definitely not PE, just bad drainage!
MW tomorrow for 34wk appointment (will be 34+4) and growth scan on Thurs. just 9 working days to cope with. Not in the mood though at all! Have run out of patience and one email from a particularly irritating person I manage has tipped me over the edge. I really want to reply with fuck the fuck off you whinging fucktard. Instead I will have to pretend to care Angry

Megan2018 · 04/08/2019 23:29

Has anyone bought a waterproof mattress protector in case their waters go? We have a horribly expensive superking mattress, bought a few years ago when we were flush-couldn’t afford to replace it now so think I should probably get something even though am likely to be induced!
Any recommendations?

Whisky2014 · 04/08/2019 23:53

I just got maternity mats which look a bit like puppy pads
But I think in your situation I would buy a plastic mattress protector and also layer a towel on too.

Moraxella · 05/08/2019 00:33

I’ve got a puppy training pad in the car, I don’t fancy my chances if that happened 😂
I am scared of it happening in public 😱

Megan2018 · 05/08/2019 04:23

I’ve got the maternity mats too, mainly for car but not sure if they’d be enough to save the mattress if they went in one gush.
I figure £30 on a sheet is possibly worth the investment as the mattress was about 100 x that. Even though odds are I’ll be induced in hospital.
So many things to worry about!

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/08/2019 06:42

We have a sheet, bought it years ago. Its a good idea also for after the birth. You can end up with all sorts on your bed (blood, milk, baby poo/wee!)

Shit nights sleep. Too hot and really blocked nose!

35+4!

boodles101 · 05/08/2019 07:09

Better night sleep for me here. I managed to build a fortress out of pillows and the duvet from the spare bed. It kept the twins out of my ribs all night! Toes also look more of a normal size this morning too rather than sausages!

DustyDoorframes · 05/08/2019 07:17

Glad you've been released happydays! I can't imagine how uncomfortable all that extra liquid must be, even without the contractions. Your poor ribs!
Blimey science!! Definitely take it easy today- that's a great week's achievement in my book, let alone a day!
How are you doing today boodles?
I think I was somewhat too sedentary yesterday, very achey hips and back. Will attempt a little stroll this morning.
I feel spectacularly unfit- I've 8 weeks to go and get so puffed just walking about, let alone climbing stairs or anything. I'm sure I was in much better shape with my last two. What are you all doing re cardiovascular fitness? I'm doing Pilates, but that's a bit different. Feel like I need to do something active if I'm going to get to labour in any shape to actually get through it...

DustyDoorframes · 05/08/2019 07:18

Crossed in the post with you boodles! That's good!

Karigan195 · 05/08/2019 10:13

I got a waterproof sheet from amazon. £19 and doesn’t crackle which I would find annoying. We took ages to find a mattress we both liked and I’m not ruining it.

Put it on last night as kept getting really strong Braxton hicks/false labour. This I did too much over the weekend and still actually quite sore now.

Glad I don’t have to go to work! Ought to get up though!

MrsCatKins · 05/08/2019 10:17

@DustyDoorframes re cardiovascular workouts I'm trying to do at least two 20-30 min walks a week, usually on the treadmill at about 5.5kmph. I'm also doing 2/3 weights workouts a week for maybe 20/30 mins at a time. Feel amazing when I workout and it gives me a great boost of energy, but I still get out of breath walking up and down the stairs at home or doing the hoovering GrinGrin

Moraxella · 05/08/2019 10:29

@dusty basically walking everywhere - clocking up about 7km+ a day but would normally do about 10km at work if I was still there. Weights and squats at the gym/home and a yoga class weekly. Spending my days either renovating or chopping trees back in the garden (jungle). But even though I’m trying hard, I had to run about a mile to the midwife the other day and it almost killed me through a mix of being unable to breathe and pelvic pain! So I’m not sure you can fight third trimester physiology that much 😂

Florencenotflo · 05/08/2019 10:52

@Whisky2014 I started doing it the other night too. I don't really think I was doing it right but it was so bloody hard to reach 😂 might try with a mirror later but I'm not holding out much hope. Still, something is better than nothing!

I have no energy today. Dd (3.5) is literally pulling every toy out she owns. But she's playing nicely and I'm laying on the couch. So for now I will ignore the mess and deal with it all later! The weather is rubbish here too so god knows how I'm keeping her entertained later! She's like a puppy that needs regular exercise to wear her out!

DustyDoorframes · 05/08/2019 11:02

Thanks @Moraxella and @MrsCatKins ! I usually walk everywhere, but I live somewhere fairly hilly, and hills set off my pelvis massively, so I've had to delegate quite a lot of my usual trudges. And I'm just so slow! My commute takes twice as long now, so it's very tempting to just get on the bus and get on with work. I'm going to prioritise getting to aqua aerobics regularly and making sure I do walk more. Pesky third trimester.

Woah Moraxella that’s more exercise than I normally do when I’m not pregnant Grin.

I’ve just been trying to keep up as much walking as I can. Had intentions of doing pregnancy yoga but never got round to it.

Seriously suffering today for being such an idiot over the weekend, haven’t had too much with pain thus far but today my back is killing me sitting at my desk, and when I went for a walk at lunch to try and loosen it off I ended up almost having to stop because of a weird pubic bone pain.

Think this will be my sign to make sure I slow down, the problem is that DH is a bit of a procrastinator and tends to follow my lead - if I slow down then he will slow down too rather than making up my shortfall. And we’ve still got so much to do before we’re ready for a baby.
