Couldn't see that anyone had started another thread after we filled up the last one, so hopefully I haven't made a double...

@Baby2nov2019 I'm also huge! People don't believe me when I say I'm only 22 weeks not 32.

Sleepyquest · 15/07/2019 10:28

Morning ladies!

22w+5
Last night I didn't feel baby very much. Is this normal? I was shattered and felt the odd flutter but not as strong as it has been. Feeling anxious!

Mintypea5 · 15/07/2019 12:25

@Sleepyquest it can be very normal. I know my baby has moved positions because the movements fee different (dull thuds into my placenta)
Also baby is still quite small so when they move it can really change how and when you fee things.

Always call your midwife or triage if concerned tho

HeartvsHead · 15/07/2019 16:10

My midwife said they don't get into a pattern with movements till 26-28 weeks so changes are to be expected at this point.

Best thing to do is have a sugary drink and lie on your left side for half hour. If you don't feel any thing in that time call your midwife.

Sleepyquest · 15/07/2019 16:36

I called the midwife as I was just stressing at work. She was in my area luckily and came to my house and listened to heartbeat so I'm feeling much better and now I can feel baby moving of course!

Hope you are all feeling well Smile

fabaga · 15/07/2019 16:59

@Sleepyquest glad all is well and so great your midwife was nearby!

Is anyone else feeling like time is dragging on so sloooowly? I am so excited to meet our little one that I am literally counting the days until November. I think the fact that my next midwife appointment isn't until mid August isn't helping!

Work is just crazy for me at the moment (I don't think my boss understands what pregnancy is, he's just piling more and more work on me at the moment!) and my brain is just overthinking about baby and childbirth ALL THE TIME! I'm also an FTM and don't know many other mums in my friendship circle so don't get to have many conversations about it, and my DP is really focused on our house renovations. I don't think it's really hit him that we're having a baby soon!

How is everyone else feeling?

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 15/07/2019 18:15

@fabaga youre not alone. I deferred exams from May to August where Id been signed off for medical reasons- now Im trying to study and... its like someone set off a fluffy bath bomb in my head. 'This Act was introduced to repeal... I wonder if he would like dinosaurs or pirates as a mural... maybe pirate dinosaurs...that could be on safari because I do like lions, I hope the baby likes lions, will watching Lion King in the cinema have the same effect as playing the baby classical music in utero?...fuck, focus on studying... what was I on about?'

I used to be a sane person!

Mintypea5 · 15/07/2019 18:18

@fabaga it's gone faster this time it feels but I think that's having a 12 month baby to deal with too. These long hot days are dragging tho! Currently sat in my bra and pants complaining it's too hot 🤣

@Sleepyquest glad it was all ok

PyjamasForever · 15/07/2019 18:39

@Mintypea5 and @Fabaga it's definitely quicker second time round. Between work and toddler I often forget that in less than 4 months we'll be a family of 4.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed this week. Sleeping poorly, full time job, travelling to big city tomorrow to chair a meeting, need to sort out another meeting for weds and prep for it, essay for a postgrad qualification due in on Thursday, I have to fill out all my maternity paperwork and try to rebook an appointment I've just got through that falls on the same day as a scan. Also have 8 thank you cards to write tonight and a friend coming over to have passport forms signed. ARGH.

@PyjamasForever you sound like superwoman! Have you considered cloning yourself so you can have a second to breathe?! I dont know how you do it!

Mintypea5 · 15/07/2019 19:47

@PyjamasForever that sounds like a very busy week! Mine have been flying past because I've been so busy. Some days I'd forget I was pregnant I'm so busy with work and home.

Try get plenty of rest when you can! Don't want to burn yourself out

Farmmum7 · 15/07/2019 19:48

@fabaga I feel the same it's dragging sooo much I'm just glad to be past half way now I'm not prepared at all for baby to be here but I'm desperate to meet the little one!!

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil I ended up missing exams because of the morning sickness I did them last month and my head kept going blank I haven't heard back yet so fingers crossed they went ok! Good luck with yours when it's time to take them!

I had my 20 week appointment with my gp and I got to hear the heartbeat my blood pressure is fairly low though!! I had my whooping cough too then stupidly went to help DH finish a garden so we could get home sooner...an hour of piking grass was not a great idea I can't lift my arm now it's fairly sore! I've got him making me dinner now while I sit feeling sorry for myself!

Nofunkingworriesmate · 15/07/2019 19:57

Im having panic attacks again, I had them later on with my last pregnancy but don’t get them rest of my non pregnant life (thank god!).
Ruining my pregnancy, last time I had nothing to worry about it was just hormonal this time I money/ job worries and not looking forward to bring a mum again and all that hard work partner dreading it too
Sorry to be a Debbie downer just need to share as i can’t in real life

fabaga · 15/07/2019 19:58

@PyjamasForever wow that sounds like a lot to be dealing with! I second @BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil you must have superpowers!

Haha @BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil almost the only parenting contribution OH has made so far is to suggest we play the bump Baby Mozart... I will definitely try to convince him that going to see Lion King at the cinema is equivalent!!

@Mintypea5 @PyjamasForever second time around must be so much harder! I'll try and enjoy the wait more!

Spent a bit of time this afternoon on the John Lewis clearance sale to work off some of the baby excitement Grin

fabaga · 15/07/2019 21:17

@Nofunkingworriesmate sorry to hear you're finding things really tough. Hope you've got a supportive midwife team around you. Thanks feel free to vent on here anytime!

Mintypea5 · 15/07/2019 21:31

@Nofunkingworriesmate sorry to hear it's tough at them moment. Have you spoken to your midwife about the panic attacks?

PyjamasForever · 16/07/2019 09:06

This is definitely a safe space to have a rant about anything @Nofunkingworriesmate. Perhaps you should have a chat with your midwife about this? If your anxiety is very bad they could put you in touch with your local perinatal mental health team to see if they can help at all?!

Thanks for kind replies very heartening, yes I’m have a weekly phone call with talking therapies man (bit helpful) I find exercise rescue remedy, friends, and chocolate and mumsnet better !

HeartvsHead · 16/07/2019 20:23

@Nofunkingworriesmate better out that in as they say. Always good to get it out. I've eaten a LOT of chocolate the last few weeks.

Does anyone know when we get the BMAT form thingy. My work want it when I hand in my maternity pack but don't have it yet.

This baby moves so much. My first wriggled a lot in the evening when I was sat down but this one seems to wriggle all day every day!

Mintypea5 · 16/07/2019 20:36

@HeartvsHead my area you get at 25 week appointment or 28 week of this is a 2nd + baby. You can request early if you need it via midwife. They usually leave it for you to collect at reception.

My work needs it by 25th week Smile

JoJoSaysHello · 17/07/2019 06:32

Haven't posted for a while and haven't been keeping up too well, but I've just had a read back through and @BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil your distracted thoughts made me laugh Grin

I don't have much to update other than we've started "proper shopping" after our 20 week scan and I'm now proudly showing off my belly - I say belly as I'm quite sure my small bump could still be mistaken for a large Sunday lunch Hmm

LittleAndOften · 17/07/2019 17:11

How is everyone doing? My baby has turned into a disco dancer. Seriously, I think he might punch his way through soon! DS1 was much quieter Grin

PyjamasForever · 17/07/2019 18:31

@Littleandoften I've coined the term "womb-rave" for this pregnancy, it also feels like I have a little person dancing away in there!

OP posts:
fabaga · 17/07/2019 18:52

@PyjamasForever love the term womb rave! Mine is constantly having a proper jig in there! The party never ends!

Our sonographer said "it's a sign of things to come...!"

I'm hoping baby will tire himself out somehow by November?!

Mintypea5 · 17/07/2019 19:39

This little lady seems to be very active. I have an anterior placenta again so worried it would be like with DS2 and I'd barely fee a think (and then worry alllllll the time) but I feel her loads! She's particularly fond of love island 😂
