Couldn't see that anyone had started another thread after we filled up the last one, so hopefully I haven't made a double...

Sadly I think the first appointment is at 9am - it's really limited :( I start work at 8am and it's about 25 minutes away from the Doctors. Plus my Monday morning is my busiest point as I have to get quite a bit done before midday.
Last time I waited until the very last appointment on the Tuesday which was 11.45. I wish it was easier to be fair but can't complain when it's just unfortunate that it happens to be a Monday. Would be so much easier if it was a Wednesday :)

blizzard88 · 27/06/2019 12:07

Hey folks! I've been rubbish at keeping up, hope you are all well. I'm half way today, woo hoo!

cakeordeath89 · 27/06/2019 15:58

@blizzard88 well done for making it to the half way point :) Have you had your 20 week scan yet?

I've realised I've gone and booked a holiday during my 25th week - do you think it will be a problem if I see the midwife the following week?

blizzard88 · 27/06/2019 16:54

@cakeordeath89 not yet, it's on Monday, looking forward to it. Sure your holiday won't be a problem - I don't even get a 25 week appointment here as a second timer!

Sleepyquest · 28/06/2019 09:27

20 week scan for me today! Yippee! And I'm team yellow so hope I don't accidentally see anything Smile

PrayingandHoping · 28/06/2019 09:43

Been one heck of a week for me

Had my 20 week scan Monday. It's a girl and were told all fine she was just small. Then as we were waiting for notes we were called back in to be told we were being referred to Fetal medicine to make sure there wasn't a reason for her to be small

Appointment was yesterday. Had another scan, some measurements were actually smaller so I question the accuracy! Shrinking is not possible!!! All tests so far come back clear, just waiting for one more but there's only a small association with it being that. So likely the baby is just small. The females on my H side are all under 5ft so we aren't particularly concerned. Means from 24 weeks (I'm 21) we will get scans every fortnight to keep an eye. They will all the time be making the call whether she's better out than in. They want to get to 28 min but anytime from 32 is fine and she will be here by 37! So by mid morning October

Was really stressed earlier in week but feeling calmer now.

Rotorua · 28/06/2019 09:52

Hi all, I was wondering why the other thread was so quiet in the recent days. Glad I found you here.
I had my 20 week scan yesterday. All was well and I am having a girl. Couldn't be happier Smile Everyone was telling me for weeks that I am having a boy. I had all the signs apparently, so it definitely was a surprise Grin
The whole scan experience was a bit disappointing though. I had a call from them a week back to change times but no one said anything about building change, so had to deal with that. And then there were major construction works happening outside the scan room, it was so loud that I could barely hear the sonographer. A bit sad that this was my last scan and it went like that...

cakeordeath89 · 28/06/2019 10:22

@Sleepyquest Hope all goes well with your scan - I'm team yellow too so any tips for avoiding finding out would be appreciated!

@PrayingandHoping Sorry to hear about the stress you've had this last week but keeping everything crossed that it all turns out fine - I suppose you have to think of the positives in that you get more scans and opportunities to see little one. Glad you're feeling calmer now.

@Rotorua Congratulations on the positive scan! I'm sure once little one arrives, the issues with the scan will be a distant memory :) (Love your username by the way, one of my favourite places!)

Farmmum7 · 28/06/2019 10:31

@PrayingandHoping I had weekly scans from 29 weeks with my 2nd to check her growth and movements and to see if I was leaking fluid! Try not too worry too much and as long as she's doing fine enjoy getting to see her every 2 weeks and just make sure your all prepared early just in case.

@Rotorua it's always the way! At least baby is all ok. They might offer you another scan later on some people are being offered later scans.

Good luck today @Sleepyquest hope the scan goes well.

dottydally · 28/06/2019 11:29

@Sleepyquest happy scan day! We've just had ours and the lady was really good. She turned the screen round when she looked at things waist down. She also turned it round when she started the scan to figure out what position baby was in.

All looking good here and we are officially team yellow! Baby is head down and my placenta is high at the back so it's been a good morningSmile

Sleepyquest · 28/06/2019 12:44

Thanks all! Everything went well and the lady kept saying things were beautiful or great which was so nice to hear.

@cakeordeath89 I told the lady straight away that we didn't want to know so she told us when to close our eyes!

We are officially halfway through ladies Grin so hope you're all feeling good xx

Farmmum7 · 28/06/2019 14:06

I've still got 2 weeks until the half way point 😭 lots of people are saying it's flying by but this is dragging so bad and now the kids are on summer holidays and work will pick up for the season I know time will fly by but I want to make the most of the sunshine, BBQs and beach trips now!!! I don't even think I know what I want anymore Confused

PyjamasForever · 28/06/2019 15:54

@PrayingandHoping it's always a worry being told that something might not be quite right, but on the plus side it's good they they picked up that baby is a bit small so they can start monitoring early. Really good that everything else on the scan looked fine.

I am exhausted today. Rush hour train into London for an exam, 3hr exam, waddled back to the train station and then another packed train and now finally home. DH is working a late so I somehow have to summon the energy to pick the toddle-monster up from nursery and do the whole bedtime routine by myself. On the plus side I have LOADS of chocolate waiting in the fridge for my balanced dinner of wispa with a side helping of lion bar.

motherofcats81 · 28/06/2019 21:21

@Farmmum7 I know, I feel the same! But just keep focused on the halfway point - only two weeks to go and we are there xx

Mintypea5 · 28/06/2019 21:28

I lost this one for a while!

My Pelvic girdle pain is horrific but finally after 2 I can move with crying. Just slowly and at a waddle

20 week scan yesterday said it looks like a girl so fingers crossed! I've got boys already and always wanted a daughter. Couldn't
See all the stuff they needed to check so back in a week or two ... cheeky scamp baby!

Placenta is low lying so I have my growth scans and my placenta check scans too! Lots of chances to see baby 🥰

Today was DS2 first birthday so I'm completely shattered. Great day ... shame it's so damn hot!

LittleAndOften · 29/06/2019 09:37

Stay cool this weekend ladies! I'm really struggling with hay-fever. I have a saline nasal spray but it's like fighting a fire with a water pistol! We have a large olive bush in the garden in full flower which is causing us all issues. DH offered to cut it down, bless him!

PrayingandHoping · 29/06/2019 09:49

@LittleAndOften try Prevalin Plus nasal
Spray. It's drug free so pregnancy safe. I'm
Usually on prescription meds for hayfever I suffer really bad.
Was very sceptical when pharmacist gave me Prevalin but it's actually worked!!

BobbySD345 · 29/06/2019 09:50

I was so confused when the old thread wouldn't let me post! I was going to ask you ladies whether you have any hay fever tips? I thought I had a cold because my throat is so swollen and sore but with the weather it is most likely the dreaded hay fever.

Also, having a lazy morning because I'm feeling rough and lay sort of propped up in bed my stomach 100% just moved. Two short little kicks and then movement inside. So weird but amazing at the same time. I'm 19 + 4 - is this even possible so early??

BobbySD345 · 29/06/2019 09:56

@PrayingAndHoping just saw the Prevalin tip thank you I'll pop to Boots later and grab some !

WispaGoldsshouldcomeinmultipac · 29/06/2019 10:25

Hi!! waves
So glad I found you. Im 20 weeks on Tuesday coming and have my scan on Friday. We're not entirely sure we're going to find out. I'm hoping there's a way for them to just tell DP because I only want to be told by him - we'll do a romantic, private gender reveal.
I've started talking to my bump, Im still having bad morning sickness (medicated and everything) so its mainly "Please stop making Mami sick!"
We've also started picking bits up... Bought a breastfeeding kit (HUGE bargain), baby grows etc.

How are you all doing? What are you up to today? We're off pram shopping - my Monster in Law is paying and she's nagging to get it organised incase she spends the money. 🤐

Mintypea5 · 29/06/2019 10:33

@WispaGoldsshouldcomeinmultipac you could ask if they'll write it down for your DH or maybe if you go to the toilet they can tell him then

It's DS2 1st birthday party today so I'm busy preparing for the bbq and trying not to cry from PGP pain! I don't want to ruin the party / day by being a miserable cow

What pram are you look to get?

LittleAndOften · 29/06/2019 11:32

@PrayingAndHoping I think I love you! Prevalin seems to be really helping. I'm still confined to indoors, but the relief!

PrayingandHoping · 29/06/2019 11:59

@LittleAndOften 🤣🤣 so glad it's helped! I was amazed by it!

Farmmum7 · 29/06/2019 12:08

I'm exhausted today too but the house is such a mess and I have work emails to send and I just can't motivate myself to do anything!

@mintypea5 children's birthday parties are my worst nightmare I don't know how your managing the stress as well as the pain make sure you have a well earned rest this evening! Are you having a garden full or kids or is it more family/friends?

@WispaGoldsshouldcomeinmultipac I'm going to ask the sonographer to write down the gender and then we're going to find out when we get home to the kids. DH missed all my scans with our first two my mum was usually with me and found out with me so he's excited to be able to do it all first hand this time. That's if baby cooperates and we can get all the meassurements.

At my 16 week scan the consultant said the placenta was at the front does that effect the view at all for the sonographer?

WispaGoldsshouldcomeinmultipac · 29/06/2019 12:15

Im after a travel system @Mintypea5. I really want one with an isofix base - monster in law is not impressed as it means the baby can't go in her car (I know it can be used with a seat belt, but its really unsafe so I haven't even given her this option). We do not have the best of relationships so its going to need to be one I can afford if she changes her mind about the money (or has spent it).

Happy birthday to your tiny one! Lots of jelly and ice cream and cake.
