Couldn't see that anyone had started another thread after we filled up the last one, so hopefully I haven't made a double...

@Mintypea5 moan away. If anyone can sympathise with how you are feeling it is us! Hope you managed to get some sleep in the end.

I feel like a single mum/work widow a lot of the time. Husbands job is funny and long hours so spend a lot of time solo parenting. We also have term only childcare so I've been with 2yr old 23/7 for weeks. Last summer was lovely but I'm so tired being pregnant I feel like I'm being a crappy mum. Had a breakdown yesterday and cried and then she was crying because I was upset which made me feel even worse! Hubby and family about this weekend so hoping to recharge a little!

LittleAndOften · 17/08/2019 12:15

@Mintypea5 sending you all the hugs, chocolate, cake, whatever you need to lessen the frustration. I sometimes wish DH and I could swap roles for a few weeks so he understands that there is no such thing as a weekend with small dcs! I sincerely hope you got that lie-in today. I'm not sleeping at all right now 😔

PyjamasForever · 17/08/2019 16:55

Washing the reusable nappies that I've bought to try today and it's so exciting seeing them all on the washing line. Toddler has worn a reusable to bed for the last 2 nights too with no leaks. Can't wait to try them on a squishy little baby now!!

Thanks everyone! I did get a bit of a lie in. Feel a bit better now. Just mixture of hormones and sleepless nights turning me a bit over the top!

Baby has decided cervix kicks or punches are just what I need today Grin

Got this sleeping bag at my fave 2nd hand baby shop.

Hey, so im due in novemeber with my first baby girl. Looking to make some mummy friends and have a support network :) was wondering if there was a facebook group/chat to join. Feel free to message me Vikki xx

threemonthstogo · 18/08/2019 21:49

@Farmmum7 I keep getting told I look further along too! But then when I had my 25 week appointment the other day the midwife measured my bump at two weeks under that so obviously I can't be that massive for my stage! I've heard that it's partly because they show 6/7 month bumps on tv for full term too. It is rather annoying though, especially when people say things like "not long to go now!!!"

@Mintypea5 Definitely sounds like you have a right to rant! Men do not get how hard being pregnant is. I don't have another baby either so I cannot imagine how difficult that is, I am struggling enough as a FTM. Hope you managed to get some rest xxx

LittleAndOften · 18/08/2019 22:10

Well we've had an eventful evening. Baby has been kicking me to pieces for weeks and nothing all day today. By 6pm I was freaking out about reduced movement - I followed all the advice on the NHS portal for our area but nothing, so I called the midwife triage line and we went in to the hospital.

Thankfully there was a strong heartbeat - I've never been so relieved in my life. They did a scan and the little monkey danced a bloody jig for the camera! I felt daft but I'd been so scared and they reassured me it's very easy for them to check, and impossible for us mums to know at home, so always call if worried. Drama!

JoJoSaysHello · 19/08/2019 06:35

@Vikki89 Welcome & congratulations! There's a group called November Buddies on Facebook which some from this thread and earlier are on:

JoJoSaysHello · 19/08/2019 06:36

@LittleAndOften I don't know what these babies get up to in there and how they manage to hide from us so well!! Good to know all is well for you!

Unsureursula · 19/08/2019 08:17

@LittleAndOften ah great to hear all is ok! I’ve had two of those scares myself, horrible and I felt like I was probably being silly going to the hospital but they were also v nice! At my latest midwife appt she said I should feel definite patterns now from baby but I actually don’t? Is anyone else experiencing the same?
Welcome @Vikki89! Hope you enjoy the group! I’m not on FB so can’t confirm but have to say I’ve really found this group a help as a FTM living overseas with most of friends back home.

threemonthstogo · 19/08/2019 08:25

@LittleAndOften that must have been scary, glad everything is ok!

@Unsureursula I've been wondering about this too, I don't feel there is a pattern either really, sometimes he just kicks me lots and other times less! I also had a slightly scary moment the other day when he'd been moving much less one evening and the next morning, that day I had my 25 week appointment anyway but when she measured me two weeks behind bump wise and then took a minute or so to find the heartbeat on the Doppler I did have a moment I thought the worst might have happened. But then all fine and the next day he made up for it by kicking the s**t out of me!

I am a bit worried about the lack of pattern though and that I therefore won't be as good at recognizing if there is an issue. I have an anterior placenta too so I think that probably is not helping. Although I feel him strongly I don't ever see him move as I think others have said they do?

threemonthstogo · 19/08/2019 08:27

And welcome @Vikki89!

Mintypea5 · 19/08/2019 10:37

I've got 1100 at day assessment to be checked for reduced movements. I had a lot of issues last pregnancy and eventually induced for reduced movements at 38 weeks. I've tried really hard to be less anxious this time but barely felt baby since yesterday evening. Done all ten usually tricks. Lying on my side, orange juice, breakfast etc but even tho I've felt a few movements very dull and only one or two compared to the usual kicking I get.

I know in theory baby is fine and has just moved position but it's really built my anxiety up today so going for a listen in Just to make sure.

Each baby's pattern is different? I found itnsi hard to establish mine last year with DS so this one I've been using the kicks counts app. Basically just say when you feel movement, not individual kicks but rather a "session" I'm counting a session as 5 or more kicks / movements because that's what seems normal for my baby right now. If there is. 20+ mins of no movement between I count yeh next lot as a new session. It's definitely helped me establish what seems to be a "pattern" for my baby. Also why I decided to get check. I have an average of 16-19 sessions a day yesterday barely had 14 and hardly any in he most active period

Vikki89 · 19/08/2019 10:45

Thanks all for the warm welcomes

threemonthstogo · 19/08/2019 11:12

Good luck @Mintypea5 let us know how you go.

Thanks for the tip on the app - downloading now!

Mintypea5 · 19/08/2019 12:51

Back all ok (as I expected by anxiety does crazy things to you) baby in awkward position 😒. It heartbeat was fine

LittleAndOften · 19/08/2019 13:12

Thanks everyone. @mintypea5 I hope you've been reassured by your checkup.

So I'm back from my 28 week mw appointment and it seems I've put on too much weight 😩 I started with a bmi of 23 but the weight difference is 'higher than they'd like' (diplomatic!) so they've offered me a weight clinic which is at a bad time for me (not that I really want to go at all).

I'm going to track my calories on MFP and try to keep around 2000. We'll see how it goes.

dottydally · 19/08/2019 13:15

@LittleAndOften I didn't think they weighed you?? My MW won't allow me on her scales Blush

I feel like I'm worrying that I'm huge. I don't know if I necessarily am but it's leaving me panicking irrationally about diabetes or excess fluid or a ginormous baby.

Can someone talk some sense into me? I feel like I've grown a lot in the last month but I don't know if that's normal!

LittleAndOften · 19/08/2019 13:38

@dottydally i wonder if it was triggered by her measuring my bump? They do that at 28 weeks. I wasn't weighed at all with DS1. I had the diabetes test last week and all fine, plus they measured the fluid when I was scanned last night at the hospital and that's normal too. So I guess I just need to eat less! My mw didn't tell me what the triggers were for her weighing me so I can't shed any light I'm afraid. When is your 28wk appointment?

dottydally · 19/08/2019 14:07

@LittleAndOften maybe! How very strange. It's no time for diets Blush

My appointment is next week so I'll report back afterwards. Got a busy week so I'm hoping it'll come round quickly!

I've joined the FB group (finally) and I'm trying to figure out who people are. @Mintypea5 - are you on there? I may have spotted you!

Mintypea5 · 19/08/2019 14:22

@dottydally I am indeed Grin

LittleAndOften · 19/08/2019 14:27

I didn't know about the fb group, what's it called?

dottydally · 19/08/2019 14:33

@Mintypea5 I will message you. This will be awkward if it's not you!

@LittleAndOften I can't seem to copy the link but @JoJoSaysHello posted it this morning.

LittleAndOften · 19/08/2019 14:48

@dottydally thank you!
