Couldn't see that anyone had started another thread after we filled up the last one, so hopefully I haven't made a double...

@LittleAndOften yesterday was like that for me! Different feel today and I haven't had ducking heartburn all day so think she's love position again. Bumps changed shape as well

LittleAndOften · 15/08/2019 17:53

Yes my bump has become more ovally than round. How weird! And much harder.
This baby is much more active than my first. Last night I swear he was trying to escape - pushing his foot right out on the bottom right hand side of my bump. DH could see it clearly and was talking to him Grin

HeartvsHead · 15/08/2019 20:21

My bump is so solid! I feel like this baby is constantly up in my rib cage which is a bit of a worry as my previous one was and turned out breech. Much wrigglier as well. Does not stop, all day long.

Saw my midwife yesterday for my 28 week appointment and am measuring bang on the 50th percentile so all those people that are telling me I'm huge can do one!! Apparently I wont need to see a consultant about having a VBAC unless I start to get pain across my scar or have any concerns.

My EDD is 2nd Nov so guessing I'm one of the earliest on the group. Anyone the 1st?

threemonthstogo · 15/08/2019 21:03

@Farmmum7 I have had some crazy dreams! Thanks for mentioning the Aldi event - I've just been on and bought a changing unit plus a few other useful bits - hope you've had a good shopping haul!

I am also feeling pretty rubbish right now, achy, knackered, massive and emotional. I'm planning to work up to 36 weeks but it seems so far away right now!

Farmmum7 · 15/08/2019 21:26

I went into Aldi today and got lots of muslin clothes, bibs, sleepsuits and a giant pillow. I raided the bargain bin and got a hooded towel for €1 too.

Baby was on the 25th centile at 21 weeks so after the growth scan at 32 if she's still on the smaller side I might get a few more smaller outfits just incase. DD was between the 9th and 25th when she was born at term and was in tiny baby for a little bit so I want to make sure I've got something that will fit!

As long as I'm not too active baby is really active specially at night and first thing in the morning it's actually quite uncomfortable sometimes when she's really going for it, it's the oddest feeling when she starts kicking downwards I don't remember that with the other two it feels like she's trying to get out!!

LittleAndOften · 15/08/2019 22:23

I've reported the above post.

Glad it's not just me who's got a wriggler! I'm 28 weeks tomorrow. Baby measured 92nd centile at the last scan so looks like he's a a whopper! I've got my glucose load at 9.30am tomorrow so won't be able to eat until midday 😭😭

Mintypea5 · 16/08/2019 02:08

Currently not asleep Hmm

Woken up by 13 month old ... usually can go straight back to sleep but combination of pgp, needing a wee, heartburn and dead to the world DH who is snoring and encroaching on my bed space means I've been lying here awake for almost 2 hours!

Unsureursula · 16/08/2019 07:34

@LittleAndOften thanks!
So my GD test came back as clear thankfully- just a bruised arm remains!
Whooping cough vaccine today- feel like it’s needles and urine samples constantly Grin
I haven’t been to the Aldi event but hear great things! Might take a look online later.
Sorry to hear that @Mintypea5, that was me wed night (minus the 13 mo)! Was awful and spent all yesterday in pain too. I had a bath last night which seemed to help and hoping to try some swimming at a public pool this weekend. Has anyone else found that’s helped?

LittleAndOften · 16/08/2019 08:37

Ahh @Mintypea5 I feel your pain. I had f-all sleep last night. Total zombie today. These pesky bumps get in the way, no matter how fancy the pillows!

HeartvsHead · 16/08/2019 08:54

Sorry to hear sleeps not been going well. I'm having real hit and miss nights and it sucks.

Even worse are the helpful people who say 'well it's all good practice for when the baby comes'. Who needs to practice not sleeping!!?

PyjamasForever · 16/08/2019 08:55

@Unsureursula the only time I feel I can move around without pain is when I'm swimming . Haven't been for a couple of weeks, but need to get back to it.

I had rubbish sleep last night too. At one point DH farted so loudly that it woke me and then I just couldn't get back to sleep. His alarm then goes off at 4.45 which woke the toddler... is it bedtime yet?!?

I picked up some Miosolo nappies from Aldi yesterday, looking forward to having a baby to put in them.

Unsureursula · 16/08/2019 09:14

@PyjamasForever lol I can completely relate- my OHs alarm goes at a similar time and one of these days that phone will go out the window!!
Glad to hear the swimming has helped, I’m hoping to get up and go early tomorrow before the crowds as apparently it gets v busy!
Completely agree @HeartvsHead

  • feel like I should be getting all the sleep I can so that I’m better able to cope with the sleep deprivation in about 12 weeks time! Also people keep saying ‘you look great’ which is lovely but I feel so crap on the inside!
LittleAndOften · 16/08/2019 10:36

I'm half way through my 2 hour wait at the surgery before my 2nd blood test. I'm bored out of my mind and really resenting those undisciplined people unable to fast who've made the rules change 😠 Its such a waste of time!

LittleAndOften · 16/08/2019 10:38

On a lighter note, those of you who are swimming, what strokes are you doing? My mw told me to avoid the frog leg kick of breast stroke, but if I do straight leg kicking too much I get ligament pain.

PyjamasForever · 16/08/2019 11:39

@LittleandOften I mostly do floating next to the toddler or if I'm on my own gentle back stroke is the most comfy. We also have a jacuzzi which isn't any hotter than the main pool, so it's nice just relaxing in there. Hope you have plans for a lovely lunch after fasting!

It's so illogical that it's so hard to sleep in pregnancy, when you then have to face loads of sleep deprivation. I'm having an elective section this time, so genuinely considering booking into a hotel for the night a couple of days before my section so my husband can't fart or snore me awake and I'm not woken by a toddler pulling up my eyelids and asking if I'm sleeping.

Farmmum7 · 16/08/2019 14:10

@pyjamasforever I laughed about the fart thing I think it was the other way round here I farted coming back up the stairs at 3 this morning after having a pee and it woke DH!

I had to be up at 5 to start baking I'm finally done and home now ready to chill out on the sofa with the kids for the afternoon. I'm exhausted but if I try and sneak upstairs for a nap the dogs will find something to bark at or the kids will pick then to start arguing so I'm just hoping to get an early night.

I had no idea there are certain swimming strokes you shouldn't do while pregnant!

People were telling me how neat and small my bump was now they're saying how big it is and at least 3 people today thought i was due in October! I'm not due until the very end of November so I'm feeling like a bit of a frump!!

PyjamasForever · 16/08/2019 18:53

@Farmmum7 I read somewhere else that basically only fairly small 6-7 month bumps seem to be shown on TV, so that's why as soon as you get to 6 months everyone keeps asking if you're going to pop... most people don't realise how huge pregnant ladies are! Or at least that's what I keep telling myself. I've been huge since the beginning.

OP posts:
Unsureursula · 16/08/2019 21:39

Don’t worry @Farmmum7 I think people just always comment!!
Quick question- do you think it’s ok for me to go swimming tomorrow after my whooping cough vaccination today?

LittleAndOften · 16/08/2019 21:47

@Unsureursula agreed! I think people notice and feel compelled to comment. But they don't put much thought into what they say, so just blurt out something obvious, or stupid, or both.

PyjamasForever · 16/08/2019 21:51

@Unsureursula It's fine to go swimming after your whooping cough jab if your arm doesn't feel too sore, so just see how you feel in the morning.

Unsureursula · 16/08/2019 22:18

@PyjamasForever thanks a mil!

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 17/08/2019 00:06

@PyjamasForever I thikn that's true, you never see anyone on tv really struggling with pregnancy do you? Having said that I was so neat and small with my first, then my second I was freakishly tiny, and small with my thrid

I will see if I can post pictures, Ill be 27 weeks tomorrow with #4 and whilst I feel like a massive beast I get told I'm small for 6 months- then asked when Im due!- but I feel massive, not least because I started at three stone over my previous start weights.

My kids all seems to go into my back and into my ribcage- always head down, but I really struggle with eating, drinking, bending at all and breathing.

Went to my GP for my appt between hospital ones and after being fobbed off t hospital last time, lovely, lovely GP said she will write a letter to the hospital to tell them I need an urgent consultation with the consultant in charge of my high risk pregnancy (this is the difference between public and private in Ireland- public you see whichever doctor, private you see the consultant in charge of your obstetric care) and advised me to bring a good book and told me not to move until I had been seen by my consultant. To dig my heels in and refuse to move!

I like my new GP!!

@Farmmum7 your post about aldi reminded me- got my newborn stuff nearly completed now. Thankyou!

Mintypea5 · 17/08/2019 01:36

Yet again awake at 1am! In a proper sulk especially with my DH who's like it's not that bad it's Saturday tomorrow. Not too bad for you no you've been so busy with work all week I've done all the kids bedtimes solo, and wake ups (which I can't go back to sleep after!!!) you've been at a leaving do tonight and have your bloody hobby all day tomorrow oh and have to work at home Sunday so I'll spend all bloody weekend dealing with our 13 month old alone. It's fine I wasn't bothered about it tbh until tonight when I'm like o can't not sleep again!

I've got heartburn, my pgp is playing up and I'm fed up! To top it all it's my birthday next week And mum completely forgot Angry I'm not actual precious about birthdays and tend to be very low key (don't insist on family celebrations
or expect anything) but it would be nice for her to remember and not be cross at me for "spoiling her plans" because I won't let her have my eldest DS that day to go away a day early. ive not had my eldest DS on my birthday since he was 2!! He's now 7 because his dad is mean and selfish (sticks to his weekends when it suits him to punish me) so I wanted a birthday lunch just for once

Sorry this turned into an epic rant. I'm fed up

Unsureursula · 17/08/2019 03:05

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil It’s been so refreshing reading your post as a FTM- my baby is apparently head down and I have constant pain in back and rib cage and get told how neat I am! I feel crap though and eating, walking, stairs and bending wipe me out!
@Mintypea5 sorry to hear that - sounds like you’ve had a tough week Flowers
Try to remember we’re on a countdown now and things like pgp will pass (that’s what I’m telling myself anyway!). I hope you’ve got somewhere nice planned for your bday lunch and maybe treat yourself to something this weekend?

PyjamasForever · 17/08/2019 07:28

@Mintypea5 sounds like you have every right to rant. Fingers crossed you'll get a lovely birthday lunch with your DS this year. I also hate looooong days of solo parenting. DH had to give up his hobby after I had a meltdown before getting pregnant. We both work shifts, including weekends and at the time we were both full time and our precious few family days he would go off to his hobby (and one evening a week) and yet there was no time for me to have a hobby or do anything. So until we've worked out a way we can both have some grown up time, we now spend our free time together.
