Couldn't see that anyone had started another thread after we filled up the last one, so hopefully I haven't made a double...

@LittleAndOften I'm glad they didn't weight me! I've put on 12kg / nearly two stone at 28 weeks! Bmi was 20 to start with. I put on almost three stone with both my previous pregnancies so it's as expected but I think it's at the higher end / slightly above what they say you should!

Re movement I still don't have a reliable pattern but also I don't think I notice it if I'm busy.

My midwife appointment today involved me reminding them that I needed both my anti d Injection (am o negative) and my iron levels checked as I'm anaemic. I've got to go back as she didn't have anti d in - good job it's my third as I knew to expect it! Otherwise I'd have missed the window for having it by my next appointment.

threemonthstogo · 19/08/2019 18:55

Oh I've put on so much weight, it was about a stone and a half or slightly over by 17 weeks, god knows how much I am now, I don't want them to weigh me! I will definitely be at least three stone heavier if not more by the end, I am certain. But then that's the case for a lot of women and I'm not going to beat myself up trying to restrict myself when I'm growing a human, that's the way I am seeing it!

Does anyone have any recommendations on the baby kicks apps? Or how to use them? I've downloaded a couple but haven't managed to quite figure it out so far - both seem to count up to 10 kicks per "session", but then if you are just getting the odd kick here or there the counter is running for ages? Am I doing it wrong?

Farmmum7 · 20/08/2019 08:19

I get weighed at every appointment! I think here it's just routine because there's a little weight box on my maternity card so it just gets filled in!

I put a count the kicks app on my phone and the charts confused me a bit so I'd love recommendations for a good one.

I feel a bit like the sickness is creeping back I've got such a busy couple of weeks before the kids go back to school and I could do without fighting off the gross as well.

Aph413 · 20/08/2019 08:50

@Farmmum7 my sickness has kicked back in at 26 weeks so I hope yours doesn't.
I can happily be eating and then it hits, really unpleasant at the moment.
My maternity notes say they're going to weigh me at 36 weeks and for the life of me I don't know why.

threemonthstogo · 20/08/2019 09:25

Cripes I hope they don't want to weigh me at 36 weeks! 🙈 why oh why would they do that??

Mintypea5 · 20/08/2019 09:28

I've never been weighed (after booking in) apart from while being induced so they have info if I request epidural etc

BobbySD345 · 20/08/2019 12:34

I would rather not know how much weight I have piled on since my booking appointment all those months ago ! I've got my sugar test on Thursday and my eating habits have been awful so I'm not feeling hopeful ☹

threemonthstogo · 20/08/2019 12:47

I've had a brownie, a white chocolate kit kat and half a chocolate cookie all before lunch 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

pinkgirlsxx · 20/08/2019 13:00

Hello! I'm due with my second baby girl 1st Nov :) weight comments made me laugh.. I put 2 stone on first time, currently 29 weeks 4 days and almost hit the 2 stone mark already, woops! Found it really easy to eat healthy and not over indulge with first pregnancy, not this time, think about food constantly!!

KJ1988 · 20/08/2019 13:12

Hi all!

I hope it's ok to chip in, as I'm new to mumsnet.

I'm a first timer, expecting Baby #1 on (or around) 19th November. How is everyone feeling?

I am glad to see the weight comments as weight is something that's played on my mind throughout! I am a relatively fit person and have started to slow down the last 3 weeks - running is no more!
I weigh myself each Thursday morning and take my bump photos, just to chart my own growth and to look back on it. Last week at 26+2 I had gained 11lbs but I didn't start gaining weight until week 19 - it's escalated since then and I literally cannot stop eating.

I'm not sure how it's been for everyone else but the first 27 weeks have flown by! Scary how quickly November seems to be approaching xx

Aph413 · 20/08/2019 13:13

I assumed it was so it was in my notes for if I needed an epidural or something in labour.
I was actually overweight to begin with (still am obviously) and actually on a diet at the time of getting pregnant. I'm struggling to stop myself from getting on the scales every day, but at the same time I don't monitor what I'm eating. It's just a difficult mindset to get out of, took nearly 2 years to get pregnant and it was only losing weight that seemed to help in the end so it keeps going through my head I shouldn't be gaining weight, this is a bad thing.
Just something I have to work on.

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 20/08/2019 17:01

I lost 8lbs at the start of the pregnancy I think it was giving up the white wine Blush and I've gained four back in total so I'm four down. Bumps getting bigger, but I've always put on very small amounts of weight in pregnancy and started far heavier than I should have been.

How's everyone's heartburn? I'm beginning to wonder have I been necking Gaviscon or pure acid at this point!

Farmmum7 · 20/08/2019 20:15

Currently sucking on some gaviscon tablets because apparently even rice can set it off 😒 trying to eat bland foods that don't seem to set off the acid attacks but apparently nothing is safe anymore even breakfast if I bend over to get dressed after breakfast chances are there's going to be some reflux 🤢 I do have a hiatal hernia so I was on prescription meds to prevent the acid ick before I even got pregnant but they aren't safe in pregnancy so now it's even more cramped in there and part of my stomach is just chilling out above my diaphragm throwing acid bombs at the back of my throat every now and then and I'm slightly terrified of spending the next 14 weeks just getting worse. This might put a pause on the weight gain anyway 😂

HeartvsHead · 21/08/2019 08:34

Today is my birthday and between the heartburn, achey legs and toddler having a nightmare I'm knackered! Thankfully am booked in for a pregnancy message this morning whilst mum watches the toddler so things can only get better!

Didn't have any heartburn in previous pregnancy (in fact I don't think I've ever had it in my life before now) but it is awful! Feel like I'm going to be sick. If anyone has any magic remedies let me know or wants to take out shares in rennies with me!

I've not been weighed again (and hopefully won't). Dont think I've put on too much though. Was right at the lower end of what you should gain with my first pregnancy and can't eat as much this time due to baby and heartburn!

Mintypea5 · 21/08/2019 09:15

@HeartvsHead happy birthday!!! Mine is Sunday. Hope you have a lovely day & enjoy the massage.

I've never had heartburn this bad in organ year before. Used to just be at night towards the end but this time it's allllllll day Confused

LittleAndOften · 21/08/2019 09:24

Happy birthday @HeartvsHead and @Mintypea5 I hope you're both able to enjoy yourselves and don't feel too rubbish. My birthday is November - 4 days before my due date! What's the betting he arrives a few days early Grin

KJ1988 · 21/08/2019 10:19

Similar to @HeartvsHead I also don't think I've ever had heartburn in my life! I've been dreading the onset of it as People say it's horrendous, but at 27 weeks touch wood cross fingers I haven't had any yet.

I've been quite lucky in that I don't think I've been put off any food at all either! Not had any freakishly abnormal cravings either - just finding it tough to turn down sugar! Anybody really struggling with this?

Farmmum7 · 21/08/2019 10:54

Happy Birthday @HeartvsHead hope the massage helps and the heartburn goes away so you can enjoy your day.

@KJ1988 I didn't have heartburn with my 2nd or sickness so fingers crossed you'll be ick free and can just enjoy being pregnant. Sugar is deffo an issue for me though I had 2 twixs and 3 custard creams with my coffee before I even got out of bed this morning I need to stop buying nice food so I can't binge!

KJ1988 · 21/08/2019 11:33

@Farmmum7 thank you - I think I've been very lucky. Aside from a couple of miserable weeks in the first trimester it's been really lovely.
And it's not just me then! Not having it in the house doesn't stop me - if I want the donut, I will find a way to get it! The new M&M chocolate bars are too nice to turn down too!
I've been more savory in recent years, but my sweet tooth has come back with a vengeance during pregnancy.

LittleAndOften · 21/08/2019 14:00

Oh I'm not having the best week! Just had a call from the surgery and I'm anaemic. Hurray!😭

I also have heartburn and I'm mainlining Rennies 😂😭

I'd like to dive into a bar of chocolate but I'm now watching my calories 😭

Woe is me!

Unsureursula · 21/08/2019 14:19

Happy birthday @HeartvsHead and happy upcoming birthday @Mintypea5!
I’ve got the dreaded heartburn and indigestion too! Didn’t find rennies helped but find gaviscon double action tablets really good Smile

PyjamasForever · 21/08/2019 17:08

I've put on loads of weight (and am feeling pretty guilty about it... but still ate cake at work today!!)

Happy birthday @HeartvsHead and happy nearly birthday @MintyPea5!

I've also had terrible heartburn. The consistency of gaviscon liquid makes me want to vomit, but I've actually really started to enjoy gaviscon double action tablets. They're now like Mummy's special evening time sweeties. I'm going away for work this weekend and starting to panic about packing/flights/waddling around another country...

HeartvsHead · 22/08/2019 07:46

Thanks all! Managed to have a relaxing day and eat a nice lunch without the heartburn appearing (until bedtime at least!).

To those that suggested gaviscon double action they definitely work much better for me than the rennies so thank you. Also apparently avoiding heartburn relief not containing magnesium is advisable in the third trimester as it can interfere with contractions.

@LittleAndOften my aunt and cousin share a birthday as do my colleague and her daughter so you never know! Anaemia sucks but can be easily fixed but fingers crossed it's not making you feel too much more tired than usual!

KJ1988 · 22/08/2019 09:26

@PyjamasForever - if you cannot say yes to the cake now, when can you? Pregnancy is the ultimate excuse. As long as we are trying to be good much of the time, surely there is no harm in saying yes?
I always say it's healthier for baby if mummy is happy and unstressed. If the donut makes me happy - I'm eating it Grin haha x

Rotorua · 22/08/2019 13:38

Hi all,
Haven't been here for a while and trying to catch up now Smile
Moving houses surely is a lot of work and so stressful when pregnant.
I also haven't had the best week. Because of the move I had a booking appointment again with a midwife. In just one appointment I found out my carbon monoxide levels are quite raised, iron levels are low and I have a UTI. Feeling so crap now. I was so blissfully unaware that anything was wrong. I'm taking medicines for iron levels and UTI, but I'm still worried about the carbon monoxide levels.
Has anyone had this? I moved out of London but I'm still working there so it might be the pollution, but still worried
